Best Inflatable Kayak? - Driftsun Voyager 2 Person Tandem Inflatable Kayak | Mountain Beaches

- We thought we'd share our thoughts on this great, budget friendly, inflatable kayak that we purchased recently. The Driftsun Voyager 2 Person Tandem Inflatable Kayak is AMAZING! We had a fun day out at a local state park reservoir recently and actually discovered this "hidden gem" after living in the area for over 25 years haha local.
While this really isn't a how to kayak, or kayaking for beginners video, it is our look at or kayak review. It's a great Driftsun tandem kayak and a fun inflatable kayak. Although at $350 dollars or so it's a pretty inexpensive kayak but certainly not a cheap kayak. There is nothing cheap about this kayak in-fact.

We have kayaked for years but tired of hauling our kayaks around on top of the truck and storing the under the trailer so a couple years ago purchased a 16’ hi pressure inflatable tandem from Sea Eagle. It’s called a RazorLite and the walls or very slender like inflatable stand up paddle boards. They are inflated to 11 psi rather than 2 or 3. This makes it as rigid as a hard kayak but still folds up into a bag! I can set up the seats (look just like your seats) in the middle and paddle solo if my wife isn’t along. It allows us to continue to kayak wherever we go. Keep on enjoying your yak!
Hi Scott. Thanks so much for watching and the great comment. It sounds like you have a kayak that you love as much as the one we have. That's awesome. Kayaks are so fun and great exercise too. Thanks again and happy trails. 💙Norm & Kim
Hey finally got a chance to check y’all out, been busy over here.Great video guys y’all put out good stuff!!! Kayak looks like fun too. 😁
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 💙
Looks like a good product. If we ever decide to get one, we will check this one out. We will probably use an air compressor to air up though. That looked like a lot of pumping.
Hey thanks for watching! The pumping really isn't as bad as it looked. We had a blast. 💙Norm & Kim
Again....we just never seem to visit our backyards! Great video you guys.
Thanks so much and for being a member of the Mountain Beaches Club!
Fantastic video, not your commercial type promotion. Thanks for uploading.
Hey thanks for the kind words. Welcome to the group! 💙
We can completely relate to living close to a treasure and not visiting it! :-) Why do we do that? It looked like fun!
Oh that Kayak was SO MUCH FUN. It's going to find a permanent spot in out 5th Wheel for sure!
@ very true
WOW, you sure find some beautiful places to visit. We're currently traveling from Florida to Oregon pulling a 20' travel trailer with a 2018 F150 4x4. We're leaving Salt Lake City today and will be heading to Winnemucca, NV. Good luck with your travels. Have fun and be safe!
Thanks for watching! Not a whole lot to see between SLC and Winnemucca but it's usually a pretty easy drive. Be safe.
The coolest thing we saw, traveling today, was the Salt Flats. We're now in Winnemucca for one night.
That was too funny about you guys never visiting Hyrum Reservoir despite the close vicinity to your house! We purchased our first inflatable kayak last year, and now we find ourselves taking it on almost every campout (we live in Washington, so there is water virtually everywhere). A few weeks back, we took our inflatable kayak out in the ocean and did a 6 mile paddle with some of our Utah relatives...our Utah relatives seem to love our weather here this time of the year.
I know, right? How do we live 20 minutes away from this beautiful spot for 25 years and not ever go? Thanks for watching!
That actually looks pretty cool. I wonder how long it will last over time? Thank you for sharing this with us cheers from Canada
Shawn
The fabric is VERY strong. Should last a long time.
Lots of fun and a Beautiful place!!
It was lots of fun.
We are hoping to start kayaking soon... looks like a lot of fun!
Oh it is SO MUCH fun and easy to do. You'll love it!
Awesome, looks like you had fun!

Thank you. Glad you like them! 💙
Looked like a lot of fun.
We had a great time Dean!
Nice review! I wanted to ask about drying it and putting in storage bag. I live in an apartment, and don't have too much room. I was worried or read that this type needs to dry out a for a while before folding up and putting in the bag, or there can be mold. Is there any concerns there? Can it just easily be wiped or should you let it dry in the sun for a while?
Hi Joe, you ask a great question. In our typical use, we have it out for several days at a time and so it does just dry on it's own. We have used it close to home a couple times and in thoses cases we did fold it all up and put it back in the bag but when we got home we took it back out to let it dry. If you have limited space I think you'd be ok if you just did a really good job of drying any moisture that might exists.
I had a three person eagle brand 600lb capacity inflatable and used it hard six years with no complaints .I paid $273 in 1981 and it's still made and the same price.check it out most any on line store.jfyi.
That's awesome Don. We would be happy to get 6 years out of our Driftsun. We are VERY happy with the quality of it as well as the comfort. Thanks for the comment. I'm guessing you don't have a Kayak right now but if your were to buy again you'd get another Eagle. BTW, you say it was a 3 person model? I don't think I've seen a 3 person kayak before.
Bro nice my dude
Thanks for watching Gnarly dude 💙!
I think I will get one. It’s perfect for full time rv living. But how much does it weigh?
I found the weight. Not bad at all
Dana, you're right, it is perfect for RV'ers both FT and PT. The model we have is a two person and holds up to 450 lbs and it weighs about 27 lbs and very easy for me to carry. If you are interested in purchasing we'd be honored to have you use our Amazon link in the comment section of the video. We get a small commission from that and you still pay the same amount. Either way, we want to thank you for watching and for commenting, we're honored. 💙Norm & Kim
I will use the link but I’m going to wait until closer to Christmas.
@@danataft9759 Kim gave me mine for Christmas. It was a huge surprise.
