I’d love a full on Batman series based around it. Maybe not Wisecracker and Batboy, but perhaps during the theater shooting he’d take a round to the head, but survive, the damage of which would make him fully go mad. So Bruce would’ve thought his older brother was dead, goes down a similar path, then discovers that his brother survived, and his fate. Over the episodes they could have him trying to reach out to his brother, trying to save him from that life.

@ for the story to have any depth, it’s much better to believe we were seeing it from the 3rd person perspective about Authur, instead of saying Authur is telling the story. Joker 2019 is already shockingly shallow despite the supposed controversy it had; assuming the “unreliable narrator” angle would imply that none of what is being told is real, so why care about any of it? There really is no lesson to be learned from his tale - nor point to be made if its fractured memories that he’s cobbling together, or making up as he goes.

There is comic book version in DC in their Alternative Universe Edition; That Joker( Before he became that) was raised by the Waynes , and became Bruce's older brother. When their parents were murder he became a crime fighter for justice so did Batman. However, Batman in that universe goes off the deep end as killing his enemies while the Joker believes that everyone can become good and be given a chance as the Waynes gave to him. That would be an awesome movie or series to produce.

Y'know, honestly a story of Joker being a hero is actually really interesting
It would be interesting to see a hero who would laugh uncontrollably when something horrible happens
I see it as his way of coping with tragedy and batboy(batman in the future)and alfred would be the only people to understand and comfort him in his crusade
You can get a bit of a glimpse into that kind of Joker in Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within.
Joker would be an interesting antihero, not hero. I just imagine something like The Crow

It's doubtful the butterfly effect would allow the sequence of events leading to their deaths either; though the problems would still present themselves, Arthur wouldn't be the match to light that powderkeg and get everyone galvanized for revolution that night. They likely would have survived that encounter

The reason why he got better from being adopted wasn't because of the money or home, but because he had a family that supported him without question, something his mom couldn't do since she was too busy looking for support with a lie, still made me sad to see his alternative happy self

This is one movie that didnt need a HISHE. It was perfect as is. That said, seeing Joker get to have a loving home, a family and career success is the most heartbreaking/wholesome thing ive ever seen!
Now the Wayne’s adopting Arthur could have ended differently... that night he could have sworn to make everyone in Gotham feel his pain and Bruce could have sworn to make sure no one else ever felt it... a final battle issues no face paint, no masks... just two brothers fighting feeling the exact same pain.
That's what kinda happened in alternate universe where it was the Bruce who died in the Crime Alley. Thomas became the Batman, Martha became the Joker. And somehow she's one of the scarier iterations.

The entrance to the villain pub being in the alley where Batman's parents were murdered is super cool worldbuilding.
I like how HISHE stayed accurate to the time setting. Like G1 Megatron, OG Shredder, OG Cobra, and even Johnny are in the pub because it's set in 1981.
How about: Arthur is adopted and grows up happy, then sacrifices himself saving the other three in a mugging gone wrong. Bruce becomes Batman in his brother's memory.
Edit: I didn't put much thought into this alternative plot, which this video inspired as I thought that was where it was leading, so everyone's criticisms are fair. Batman's back-story is far better as it is.

One is the young heir to the Wayne fortune without a care in the world. His adopted brother is an up and rising comedian working out his mental issues.
The night their parents are shot, the two start a war on crime.
Bruce takes the form of his childhood fear and becomes, BATMAN.
Arthur takes on a persona matching his days as a comedian, named, the Joker.

The real question is, if he WAS there as Bruce's older brother, would he:
A) been shot in the alley with the parents
B) helped the numbers to where only maybe one parent gets shot and possibly not even fatally
C) nobody get shot cause the group would've been too large for one mugger to intimidate effectively
D) been shot in place of the parents
I'd say they wouldn't get shot at all since it was the clowns he created when he shot the people in the subway that killed them.

The 'Adoption Ending' (1:30) could've been epic and sad all at the same time had Arthur jumped in front of the bullet to save Bruce and his parents. This could've lead to widespread hope as someone, who in all other circumstances could have lead to the erosion of hope and downfall of Gotham itself, is instead held as a beacon for the beauty kindness and the bond that could be shared between those with social, economic, and cultural stability and those who have been dealt a rough hand and have had to survive without.

You could do it like Flashpoint where Bruce was killed instead of Thomas and Martha. Thomas became Batman and Martha became Joker. In this reality you could have Bruce become Joker and Arthur become Batman.
