    Nice trip, interesting view of the L.A. east interchange since since the bottom. It permits to admire the elevated ramps! And thank you for your videos dedicated to L.A, it was a great way to learn more about this complex network of highways! Some freeways are really epic...

      Thanks, I filmed that section of the East LA interchange at night (#13-44) and made it a point to get that section in daylight, it's pretty impressive. Glad you enjoyed the LA series.

    I just discovered this one, I lived in LA when you visited! The freeways are fascinating and I recognize a lot of the portions of the 134 that I saw. Especially the section running through the mountains! I remember going on 134 west I looked out the window and saw all the houses and hills and stuff at that portion. Thanks for putting these up, living there was fun and I’m glad I get a little window to it through your videos.

    Awesome videos! I am heading to the L.A. area from the midwest next week, and was nervous about the traffic. However, after watching all of your L.A. videos, I am more at ease with the traffic patterns I will be facing.
    Thank You

      Thank you Michael! The traffic can indeed be brutal, I suggest getting INRIX or SIGALERT for your smartphone but when the roads are flowing there is no better freeway driving experience anywhere.

    I love this video! It's neat that some of these freeways were the first ever built--there's a lot of history behind them. I was surprised seeing the overhead button-copy exit tabs--I never knew Caltrans did that.

    Arroyo Seco is so cool with Art Deco tunnels. I love LA so much, the great weather, freeways, sprawl (=space), semi arid landscape, beaches. I honestly do not understand why so many LA haters out there!

    • @forceinfinity
      @forceinfinity 5 лет назад

      I can come up with several... 1) semi-arid weather = high wildfire risk during half the year 2) smog ..and a lot of it visible in this video 3) city is far too big for the amount of available water in the area and its current sources of water are at risk... I can keep going

    Happy birthday to me - you filmed this on my 51st birthday!
    Also, did you mean to use Lakers colors as the text backdrop?
    I see the correction on the rank of Glendale. Santa Clarita has been gaining, but as of 2010 it was #4, leaving Glendale at #3. But three years past, I could see Santa Clarita going past Glendale.
    Long Beach is #2, obviously. I'm unsure about #1. :)
    As an ardent Valley secessionist, the San Fernando Valley would definitely be #2.

    • @Freewayjim
      @Freewayjim  10 лет назад

      Cool! and yes the Lakers colors were intentional. Someone on here corrected me about Glendale, it was an easy enough fix.

    Love the concept ... just wish you wouldn't speed up the video .. takes away from that "going down the open road" feeling! You could "edit" them to fit more of a "music video" format ... that would be terrific"!

    • @Freewayjim
      @Freewayjim  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you, actually, it's the opposite, doing these in real-time is painfully slow and boring, adapting the speed of the video footage to the tempo of the music and syncing it with the tempo changes is a far more engaging experience.

    • @prayergate8388
      @prayergate8388 6 лет назад

    • @Freewayjim
      @Freewayjim  6 лет назад

      I don't need to watch anything, I know what I'm doing, trust me you are in the vast minority...if you don't like it sped up that's cool, i'm not slowing it down to real-time.

    • @prayergate8388
      @prayergate8388 6 лет назад

      LOL! Okay, buddy. You don't have to get "triggered"! It was just a suggestion. I've driven a lot of these freeways in my 67 years and have fond memories of cruising down the highway with the radio on. Each one of these highways have a unique "ambience" all of their own connected to their locations. It's like the difference between the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles versus the Mark Hopkins in San Francisco (of course, you would have had to have been to those two places to understand that). That's why the "ambience" of the location gets lost at fast speeds ... it all looks the same ... just music, cars and overpasses buzzing by and blurring together. But, hey, don't let me intrude on your "engaging experience"! Have a great life! :)

    • @Freewayjim
      @Freewayjim  6 лет назад +1

      LOL, not triggered at all, really unnecessary comment on your part but that's cool. If you think real-time speed driving videos with music is so compelling go film something and post it here, I'll watch. We are probably looking for two different things and that's fine, my subs and view counts would say I'm doing something right.

    Really enjoy your videos but the music could have been the Doors, America, or John Stewart. Much more fitting for the place and vibe.

    • @Freewayjim
      @Freewayjim  5 лет назад

      Thank you! On the music, some of those acts are not safe to use on RUclips (The Doors), I have used some (America) in other videos and I did use John Stewart in a video and it was muted after a couple years, plus when making 14 videos from the same place (and 60 overall for that trip) I don't want them all to sound alike so I look for what I feel is the right fit (plus there is timing and tempo to consider), are there better choices out there for this video? yeah, but at the time that's what I came up with so as you can see picking music is kind of a minefield and not as easy as you think.

      Johnny, I used "City of the Angeles" by Wang Chung from that soundtrack for video # 13-40 last month, please feel free to check it out. And as far as this song being bad? you're the ONLY person I've seen here and and other places I've posted it that thinks so, I strive to have every video sound and feel different, as a result, different flavors of music get used.
