    Thai airways really take things to a whole new level cause when u c other airline if u r late they won't help you but Thai airways take that extra step to give u the memory of your life. Thumbs up for Thai airways

      It is in the interest of all airlines that passengers make their connections. Otherwise if the delay was not weather, ATC or airport operations related then the Airline is responsible to make alternative arrangements for the missed connections. This means more money. Thai Airways is struggling financially and is barely hanging on.

      If the flight from Taipei was also Thai Airways then I would expect help with the connection. I've had similar service with Qatar and Emirates with short connecting times. Qatar has a small terminal just for that.

      @@daddygaga1659 I think he did, and if I understood well : the employee in the bus told the passengers about their luggages being transfer to the plane as they were on their way to boarding. And if they could not have it at the landing, luggages would have been send to their home... Something like that.

      Same it was happened for me on Singapore airlines but they can check in my baggage from the arrival flight to transit flight then they delivered to my home after 1 day.

      This is a standard practice by most airlines unless the delay from the incoming flight is way too long to hold the departing flight.

    Thai Airways saved me and my mum as we needed an emergency flight to India because my grandma had a stroke and she survived, so I am thankful

    This reminds me of my trip to Japan. My flight from SG to BKK was delayed, hence when I finally reached BKK my connecting flight departed (kinda sad cause the plane was a 747-400).
    However, several Thai Airways staff members were on the ground to immediately help me and quickly re-booked me on an evening flight.
    During the layover, they let me stayed at the airport hotel and even provided meal vouchers.
    The best part was the seat I got on the new flight; it was just behind the emergency door, so the legroom was incredible - there was no seat in front of me
    Thai Airways really do know how to go above and beyond in ensuring their customer's needs are met~

    I've had similar experience with Thai, connecting from Krabi - Bangkok - London. They made the transfer memorable and smooth. And yes, the service on board is top quality. I didn't sleep through the flight and I saw the staff running frequently drinks, snacks, and refreshments.

    Wow, Thai Airways really lives up to their reputation! Great hospitality and service.
    They literally jetted you from one flight to another in no time (less than 5 mins). Great job Thai Airways!

    As a Malaysian, Thai Airways is always my choice more than SQ or MH. Just love their lively cabin cheerful crew delicious meal with hot crossaint everytime, and their service is just consistently good since I my first experience with them from my kids time. Lastly, I love when they distribute the purple orchid before landing, this small bouquet of flower makes me obsessed with them my entire life

    what i love about a380 is the quietness of the takeoff, but the sheer thrust of it will push you to your seat, its like riding a shinkansen compared to the supercar-acceleration feeling of the 777)

    Great to note that Thai Airways had taken special efforts for its connecting flight passenger. I will definitely try to be one of the passenger of Thai Airways on near future.

      @@coolshade789ify But the only complaint he had with SQ was that the FAs didn't want to have a conversation with him (in Economy Class) and thus saying they were "cold" and "bad".
      They were just doing their job, and he severely knocked SQ for it!

    I took a flight from Tel-Aviv to Reykjavik via Vienna with Austrian airlines - 25! minutes connection in Vienna - the time it took me from one plane into another(including passport control and security) was 10! minutes from plane to plane(with a lot of runnning) - It was also the first time that I was the last one to board into the plane. =]

    I flew with them in November 2019 from Bangkok to London it was a 13 our flight and I was really dreading it I was going to be one of the longest flights of ever taken but I was really surprised at how good the service was very friendly crew and the toilets was one of the most spacious and cleanest I have a seen on a plane

    I really like Thai their crew are so polite and courteous ...I am not a huge fan of BKK Airport however that said I missed a connection there once with EVA and Bangkok Airways and the problem was solved with no hassle at all making it a much needed stress free situation. Brilliant report

      Yes at bangkok they do very nice work. We had same trouble 2 months ago on a flight from dubai then another to siem reap. They waited and guided us.

    Great review and nice to see that you made the connection in BKK.
    However I'm quite sure that the contents of the plastic container is orange juice and not fruit jelly.

    Forgot my passport at home, contacted them about the situation and was told they can’t make any promises, finally arrived at the counter around 45mins before departure and still allowed to board the flight and made it back home!
    Gotta say TG is really something!

    I was once supposed to have an 8 hour connection in Heathrow. A 7+ hour delay with British airways caused it to be just barely a 50-minute connection. I barely managed to catch my connecting flight.

    I love the AIRBUS A380, as much as I enjoyed going to Bangkok. The first time I'd flown on an A380 was when I went to Bangkok for my third trip. The first time I went to Bangkok was on a British Airways B777 (I flew out to Bangkok twice with them.) which flew out from Heathrow and landed at Don Mueang in Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi didn't open until 2006. The third time I went to Bangkok was when I travelled with EVA and then connected to Thai Airways on A380 but when I came back to London, it was on a B747. This time around over 2 years ago, I flew on a Thai Airways B777-300ER. So that's 4 times I went to Thailand.

    I think only in Thailand can do like this they will final call even you have 15 mins to go to the gate and they walk around the airport sometime it annoyed some passengers but it good for who can't find the gate or who can't connect the flight

      At 1:49, a Thai employee is heard saying something about trying their best to transfer the bags to the aircraft, and that if the bags did not make the flight, they will deliver them to their homes. (I think that's what he says -- he has a strong accent.)

      Bags that have short connections are loaded on the plane last so they're the first off and can go straight to the next flight.

      Surasit Dedkard yes that’s about right. Thai have another service via HKT to Frankfurt so it was probably checked into that flight and went to their house.

    Thai people are nice and very helpful . I've been to Thailand a few years ago. It really was very good experience. Thailand is incredible beautiful country. The food is very delicious and best part is Thai hospitality. They really want to help you when you need it.. I love Thailand. And it makes me want to visit Thailand again and again...

      @@AlicrocMS I was referring to the fact that in Oct-Nov 2019 there were actual plans to shut Thai down because it lost billions of €'s. It seems that they're not long for this world unless the Thai government can sell it off or give it more money...

    Nice review and glad that you like the services.
    I had a quite similar experience with OZ, got on a delayed flight from BKK to ICN. At check-in, staff moved me to a front row seat. And at the gate they moved me again from front row seat in economy to business class. That was when I realize that I might have to run for the next connecting flight. When arrived at ICN, a staff was waiting for me. Unfortunately, I had to run together with her to clear the security again. When I got on the connecting flight, that was when I started to worry about my baggage. Cabin crews couldn't assure about it too. Anyway, I found my baggage at final destination with "short connection" tag on it. I think they transported my baggage from plane to plane directly.

    There’s actually a reason why the snack served on planes is always something salty like pretzels, nuts or chips. Salt helps you retain water which means you don’t have to drink as much. It’s handy during the flight since the inside of the plane is a dry environment

    Really glad you made it to the connecting flight! It's always my nightmare to miss flights like these, my flight back to Vancouver from Manila was almost missed at Taipei because of delays ugh! I can't believe how quiet the A380 is, you don't hear engine noise at all.

    Wie gewohnt ein sehr schöner Trip Report. Thai Airways ist tatsächlich eine gute Airline, wenn es um das Problem Handling geht. Bei der Lautstärke des A380 hab ich leider andere Erfahrungen gemacht. Ich muss sagen, dass ich ihn als sehr laut empfinde. Auf meinem ersten A380 Flug hatte ich einen Platz am Notausgang und als das Fahrwerk ausgefahren wurde, dachte ich zuerst das Flugzeug kracht auseinander. War aber trotzdem ein aufregender Flug. Den Boarding Pass habe ich bis heute noch. Liebe Grüße an EK052 und an Sitz 67B 😅

    Last year my family and I have a very tight connection to Osaka as well after landing. We don't have a bus send us there. Altogether 13 of us with 2 ground staff walked very fast and very far to our gates. When we were onboard, everyone was looking at us. =D

    Imagine you were flying on business class, you would have missed out the lounge with 8 mins of transfer and no foot in the terminal yet. Anyway well done Thai Airways, hope they gave you a bit of compensation extra too :)

    I liked the first part of the triperport - the connection. It was amazing!! I am 18 and I have flown more than 40 times in my life and I have never experienced similar situation :D the reviewing of the flight was quite chaotic and for me confusing. But all in all a very lovely flight 😂

    I have heard you should notify the crew well before landing if you are in this situation, so maybe they can move you to a seat from which you can get off the aircraft faster.

    Sadly TG A380 is no more available after the pandemic.
    I always enjoyed flying Economy on the Upper Deck.
    The Satellite Terminal is still not fully opened in 2024.
