  • In this video we go apartment hunting in Mexico City. Jenny has been offered employment in CDMX so we are looking for apartments in the Coyoacan and Benito Juarez areas. These apartment tours include luxury amenities but also some budget-friendly options... at least, as far as Mexico City prices go.

    How do you not have more followers , this is probably the most detailed apartment hunting video of Mexico City I’ve seen . We just moved to condesa , it was a pain to go thru the application process. They wanted your first born and the deed to house you owned . Ridiculous. Keep up the great content .

      that's a good point, most of the neighborhoods we'd often hear about are Roma, Polanco, Condesa, etc. etc. the fancier neighborhoods where most of the expats/foreigners live. I'm glad this was helpful! and thank you 🙂😁

    22,000 pesos in del valle is cheap, I’m from Mexico city. by law the rent includes water fee so you have water in the building. So if they tell you that the rent is not included, they are lying.

Wish we had seen you walking around! We were impressed with all the parks and green space in MXCD. And being from the US, we felt safer there in that we didn't worry about the shootings. I’ve been thinking Coyoacan only bc I don’t know anything about other neighborhoods and hard to find English speaking videos (I have some Spanish ). Acacias looks like a nice neighborhood. As a single woman I’m hoping to find a two bed for less than $1000. Sounds like it will be tough but not impossible perhaps. Hope you’ll share more videos of local neighborhoods in CDMX! As US citizens, what are they looking at in your background checks? Also, is it just for your backgrounds in Mexico, or do they look at your US backgrounds as well? Does having dual citizenship help or hurt you in the apartment hunting process in any way? I appreciate your videos and all of the information in them. Thank you!!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  Год назад +1

      Great question, we should have gone into more detail. The background check does include looking for any criminal activity and credit activity. We let them know we were dual citizens but new to living in Mexico so we had no established credit history, though they have to do the check any way as part of their due diligence, of course. In our leasing contract, it states we are mexican citizens, but I'm not sure it makes a big difference for renting purposes. I think it'd be a bigger factor when it comes to buying property.

    • @crizzknows

    My fiance and I are planning on having our first baby in Mexico! What city would you suggest? We are coming from LA & Milwaukee, also Chicano (mid 20s). We were looking at GDL or CDMX since we prefer big cities that are always running. But would you suggest Queretaro instead? Income is not a problem for any location either.
    Regardless, I love the videos please keep them up!

    Yeah demand in CDMX for apartments is crazy, you're competing with 28 million other people in the city + a lot of international people now & the rest of Mexico. A friend was late 1 hour for her apartment tour and the agent told her someone already rented it.

    Unfortunately, it is impossible for Native and local citizens to afford an apartment of this price due to the demand for apartments and houses for rent by foreigners who can afford it if they earn in their country's currency. I wonder if they will make their money in pesos would they still pay for it?
