Similar videos on building Napoleonic Armies would be immensely helpful to those painting the same. Every period could use videos like these but I see the sense in highlighting lesser-known wars. Very enjoyable just to view the available ranges this way.
Looking forward to seeing your completed 1812 units. I looked at converting the Perry or Victoria British Officer figures to US ones. British coats are double breasted while the US were single. A couple of comments about US clothing of 1812 period vs. AWI period. Trousers were introduced into the US around 1802, by 1812 very few men would still be wearing breeches and stockings. AWI period they wore a "Hunting Shirt", it was a pull over that came to the top of the thigh. By 1812 it was a "Hunting Frock", closing up the front and knee length. I've been trying to put together an 1812 US force since the 1970s, I've yet to find anything I truly like (maybe I'm too critical???). Every couple of years I may dig them out and add a few new pieces, but---
You can now add to the list Parkfield Miniatures and matchlock Miniatures. You dropped the War of 1812 topic like a hot potato. I never did see the Calvary or artillerysegments!
I was surprised to hear the comment about the small size of Brigade Games War of 1812 figures. Although I don't have the figures, everything I have read says the Paul Hicks sculpts are designed to be compatible with Perry. Looking at the sculpts on line they look similar to his other musket period sculpts (Napoleonic & AWI) which suggests they were made from common dollies. Is it possible to show a comparison of these figures?
i have often been tempted to do 1812....usually being British i tend to play other than British armies (as i guess they are a bit too familiar) in WSS, Naps etc. The War of 1812 is the one where i would only do Brits ..similar in AWI
Every manufacturer seems to have their own interpretation of scale. Most annoying when you’re forced to go to several to source the miniatures you need. Wish they could get together and work out some standards. Never gonna happen, but it’s a dream.
Hi, I am midway through painting my French soldiers from the Waterloo starter set and was wondering if you could suggest any products for carrying or storing my army as I don't really have any boxes that I can put them in without them potentially getting damaged. Cheers
unless its my computer when you say at 18.46 on the screen now there is a btn from the Waterloo starter set painted up as Americans - its a group of American Indians? I think your video is looping round and the Old Glory photos then appear again
Yeah I was having problems uploading the pics, so ended up with the classic loop! It was late enough as it was so I didn't want it later. I'll post pics of the unit in a message
Very random here but does anyone know of any Scottish rifle regiments in the British army. Looking for a unit to go along with my 95th (just got the war games Atlantic box)
You may get security warnings for this site for British Regt Facings . This page has all the Highlander Light regiments www.napoleonguide.com/infantry_ukcol2.htm
Excellent stuff! Tempting -the opportunity to do Napoleonic era on a somewhat smaller scale. I must resist!
The type of war club you were interested in from Last of the Mohicans is called a gunstock warclub.
Knuckle Duster has recently sold the 1812 line to Wee Wolf Miniatures and won't be available until around November 2024.

Knuckleduster 1812 miniatures can be bought through Caliver Books in the UK.
Not tp be picky, but it would be nice if the visuals matched the narration. Very confusing.

What about French figures with British peninsula war heads? French have long coats so what do you think?
@@natewatts195 Gave up on the whole thing, for now.
thanks for the video!

You should definitely 100% tune to the channel at 18:15 BST today (13.10.24) buddy! You might be in for a surprise!

I bought the wargame foundry Americans they are very small, they are about 25mm. I love the figures but they're definitely short

I suggest Really Useful Boxes. That's what I use to store mine in. The 4 litre ones are perfect. It's a great idea for a video though!
No problem
