The female singer Arooj Aftab , who is a ver soulful singer and is nominated for two categories at Grammy's awards this year and one of her song "mohabbat " is also included in the playlist of former president of US Burak Obama , is expressing her grief .She is telling the story of Pheasant bird who is in love with moon and want to reach near it but it cannot. Very beautiful ballad in a very soothing voices.The lights , their voices , lyrics and everything in it is very poetic.
The haunting separation and the pain of breakup is perfectly depicted in the visuals, the set has the haunted vibe and the tune adds the emotion, and is taken to the next level by the gorgeous vocals and you start to feeling every word. By the way AROOJ is the only Pakistani Grammy Award Nominee and most of the Pakistanis even are introduced to her through Coke studio.
Every season has different music producer, this year it’s Zulfiqar “Xulfi”. He also worked on Nescafe basement. My favorite is Rohail Hyatt. He was the producer of most of the early seasons and season 12 & 13. My second best are Ali Hamza and Zohaib kazi for season 11 And even though they are last in the list they are awesome as well, The Band Strings has produced many great sons. So you can say coke studio has had 4 music producers over the year and each with a different styles - Rohail Hyatt - Strings the band. (Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia ) - Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi -Zulfiqar “Xulfi” (current music producer) Each has their own unique season. EDIT: Rohail Hyatt has most of the early seasons of coke studio on his own RUclips channel. “Rohail Hyatt.” The songs even have English subtitles. Miyan ki Malhaar is a great one!
