  • The Goshiki variety of koi is being discussed by Shawn as he explains the transformation of this beautiful variety and how the Omosako Koi Farm has embraced this type of fish for their breeding program. While Omosako is famous for the Shiro Utsuri variety of koi, Omosako's approach to creating a textbook Goshiki Koi is an exciting journey for the world to experience.
Through this video demonstration, we learn what to look for when selecting a high-quality fish and how the koi will transform when they acclimate into US pond water. Shawn uses Japanese terms to explain the things you should look for when selecting one of these stunning Goshiki in this extensive koi discussions exercise.

I’ve bought some nice goshiki for pennies on the dollar because they looked like kohaku at time of purchase. Six months later, their sumi is jet-black.
