Last week, I made over this empty wall in my apartment and it just inspired me to create some projects for around the house that are really going to refresh it for summer. Summer is the best time to DIY and just have fun doing a project. If your home is looking very neutral, there are ways to incorporate more color, pattern, and funky shapes without it being in your face, so that’s what we’re going to do today.

I'm going to try the second one I don't have a cricut but I should get this new pen that has a cutting point on it. Won't be able to do it with heavy card stock, but I'm still going to try to pull it off
Painting switch plate covers is genius. I use to do this but this was before bonding coating was a thing. I never considered to sand them before either but now that I know these things I may just do this more.
The table was out of this world! I see myself doing some version of THIS for sure. Then the wall Art, not my style.. but it most certainly was inspirational as I’m looking for something this shape and you triggered my creativity! Thank you!

Clever use of cardboard on that table. Matte or stone-look paint with some texture in it might look a bit more elevated. For the art piece, inexpensive white tissue paper applied between thin layers of interior paint would also work- don't even need glue! Light switch cover could be done with fabric or scrapbook paper for those (like me) who can't paint. Great renter-friendly ideas as always.

That would make an adorable peel and stick wallpaper! It would be great if it was a print that you could use in the clear switch plates! There's no way I could paint such a delicate pattern on a light switch!
The table was true talent, but my favorite was the light switch plate. So darn cute!! Wish i felt enough confidence to try one.
Whata beautiful end table. you could pour this in a concrete polystyrene mix (for a lighter table weight) in a plywood wood box with shaped styrofoam for the empty spaces
I love the first project 🤩🤩🤩 I would’ve deff left it without paint though, it feels like it makes it look cheap somehow 😅

I was cutting a bunch of thicker cardboard a few months ago for a charity project and it messed up my wrist.
I now have tendinitis and might need to get surgery. I just got a cortisone shot the other day. It's been very hard for me to craft cuz I'm always in so much pain.
It seems so stupid but cutting cardboard can eff you up lol

Happy belated Birthday Tina🎉🎉🎉 I believe I love the curtains the most! I wasn't thrilled when Becky did it but they were pink and I really don't care for pink. I do however love the color combo you have going on with the rust and linen with the blue. Fabulous choice.❤❤❤

I went to Harbor Freight and bought some giant heavy duty scissors to cut cardboard for I think 8.99. Anyways less than 20. They worked really well on foam core board. The girl that showed them to me said she uses hers to cut cardboard all the time.
What do you use to seal your projects (like your switch plate?) also, do you have a matte vs shiny/gloss option that you go for? Thanks!!!

All of these are so good!! And I agree with another commenter sbout the lights will - you could sell these! It would be a lot of production, so, a few at a time. Once all sold out, have to wait till next quarter. Seasonal plates as well.

There's this shop where I'm from which is called Kartent, and they sell anything and everything made out of cardboard! Definitly recommend having a look, since there's so much you could make from that stuff. Great video Tina! I feel like you're on a roll lately!

I’m a July baby too! I love summer. I’m better it was cement which is the binder for the sand and rock in concrete. There are several fast set cements that aren’t too heavy. But it’s an interesting idea.

That table turned out amazing. Love the design. If you work with plaster of Paris again, Tina, I would make it so thin that you can pour it. Not only it gives you more time to work with, but it self levels. I learned the hard way, lol.

It's hard to believe that the first project was mostly made of "trash!" My husband makes fun of me because of all the trash items I hold onto "just in case." I also agree with the comment where you could truly sell your art pieces, whether on a light switch or canvas. You are so talented!!❤
