Ipath was my favorite shoe company for so long. I've owned probably 30 pairs. I still wear the High Cats as snow boots and get compliments from people every winter. But the best by far were the Kenny Reed's. I owned at least 10 of those. Plus my name is Reed, so they literally had my name on the shoes. Man, I loved those things. But I will certainly buy a pair of these new Grasshoppers.
I love Ipath, grasshoppers, cats, crickets, tams, 85’s, Locust, bring all of them back like they were 20 years ago and bring back the OG 2004 Lakai Manchester
The fully polished Krux trucks were epic!!!!! I think mine had a blue hanger on one set I had…I think another had a blue base plate and polished hanger
Krux Downlows were one of my favourite trucks. Cool to hear some new about Ipath. The Karl Watson's (P2 ?) were so nice as chillers. Great looking shoe. Had the Cats too. Another stylish chiller that skated surprisingly well. I did eventually skate them and loved them.
Thank you for the shoutout! I switched back to Destructo from Venture high, I love Destructo trucks so much AND they still make them with a lower option and more styles. The éS energy + insole has a lot of “spring” to them, especially in the heel and you definitely can use them for multiple pairs of shies
@@Meek7755 I had Ace AF1’s. They are good for carving and sharp turning but I don’t skate bowl/pool so they’re pointless for me. Destructo are way more stable and still have the most kingpin clearance out of any truck out there. Independent imo are just overrated trucks surviving off hype
Yo so it is the angel boy! angelboy came out out late 90s i had a skate shop blake (My dad bought us bones swiss back then too.) And also had the The Angel boy 53mm on Orion trucks! I wish i knew where that board was still
Dude! You finally explained it! I never could figure out why ventures felt so terrible to me. They felt waaay heavier when skating them than my independents.
The shoes were so good back then now all I see people skate are like nike, addidas and maybe etnies. I liked the Adio wrays the most from back in the day but I had some ES, Ipaths, Circas, Fallens that were super also dope. Early 2000s had the coolest shoes imo
I have preferences, but I can skate whatever I hate Krux trucks, though I could never get them to tighten. Complained about it and they were just rude to me also too they sent me two different size trucks and never fixed the problem
Been rocking Ipath since i was 13. still have photos rocking the grasshoppers while skating a minigolf course ramp lmao. Still daily driving them to this day, albeit, more expensive. Glad theyre coming back
I also bought the Emerica sole and put them in my Penny 2's and its way better for sure, almost a new shoe. And the és insoles are different from the Emerica ones. But not by much
The Ipath Locust was the best skate shoe ever and in the top 3 of any shoes I've ever had. I'm not sure if or what the differences between those and the Grasshopper. The Locust had an insole made with coconut fiber and a honeycomb rubber material that made them super comfortable. The outsole shape felt great on a board and made it feel like any trick was possible.
Those wheels that yellowed super bad would be because of where they had been stored for all the years. They were in a humid environment and had exposure to the oxygen and sunlight more than the other. The combination of the 3 causes that. You CAN usually reverse it by using some Salon Care 40 (bleach-type chemical) and strong UV grow lights. It is commonly used for toys and sneakers to get yellowing/oxidation out and it usually works pretty well!
Never understood the desire for thick insoles (and at that extreme puffiness of the upper) on a shoe designed for skateboarding. The higher your foot is the more chance for rolling your ankle (and obviously numbed board feel). A thin but dense insole like the one that came in the OG-1 makes more sense to me. Protects from blunt force and evenly distributes impact. Maybe I'm tripping though lol.
110 for a shoe that’s outsole lasts maybe 2 weeks is a bit much for me. Gum sole on the black cat was a poor decision and I’m just not sure I’m hyped for this at all
Just hit you up on IG! Are you willing to sell those Rasta I-Paths?? I skated those back in the day and I want another pair so bad! Please respond. I’m willing to work!
after nearly 20 years riding krux i went back to indy and it was a good decision. actualy krux are soft trucks, they grind down realy quick. on metall they grind better on ruff stuff they are not that good. also they bend, needet a pair every year. and the turn is not that nice. the downlow kingpin is awesome. but indys got the mids wich is pretty similar
Think so. Last update or even a reply on instagram was what last year? I think a lot of people didn't even get their Kicks yet. You could kinda tell things were looking grim when they were dumping all the dead inventory for mega cheap.
One shoe company I would die happy with life if they reissued is the vita dills and the natas shoes. I' was getting Flo in 2000 but like an idiot didn't save shit and the 1 pair that survived my wife tossed they were way too small since I was maybe 19 back in 2000 now I'm 41 and I just wear Jordan's and airmax but miss the look of the old skate shoes
I was so pissed to see that vegan tag on the new muska colorway. That would explain why they feel so cheap. Bs materials. Not even cheap suede just fake suede lol
I have a good buddy that’s vegan so he is super stoked to have a pair now so for the folks that like that stuff happy for them ! I still bought em cause I like the color way.
I hate this new generation mindset to just rip everybody’s design and put their trash logo on it🤡🤦🏽 It’s gotta stop! I had too many brands doing that on ig with my art. Nobody know how to be an individual anymore🗑🗑🗑
Sick Krux!
“I’ve always wanted everything”
Same lol
Who else would be reading their CCS catalog inside a regular book during “reading” time
I kept mine on the corner of my desk in every class circa 8-9 grade. Just about everything in it was circled in pen because I wanted it.

And I’m the person that has been asking the comments all this time lol
Also the ones that you showed that are on their story are the Kenny Reeds
I need the tan cats
@@nate2skate265 i want those black/white grasshoppers
Sorry it took a bit of time homie. I will definitely do a video on the new ones 🎉

What a great channel!!! I feel like I am surrounded by people who love skateboarding just like I do and understand. The golden era was epic!!!
The fully polished Krux trucks were epic!!!!! I think mine had a blue hanger on one set I had…I think another had a blue base plate and polished hanger
i had an angel boy pull over when i was 12. that thing was sick
I rode pleanty of destructo trucks back in the day loved them the Mike V model was my go to 98-99
That’s an oddly specific go to
Never owned a set but my friend had a pair on his setup and they felt great!
Fred Gall and Matt Reason both doing 39mm switch flips of joy!💥
The grasshopper was the best shoe ipath made
Krux Downlows were one of my favourite trucks.

Ozidization causes those wheels to get that color. Get a shoe sole deoxidizer and it should clean it up
Remember Orion trucks

ACE TRUCKS NUMBER 1
Independent trucks NUMBER 2
Very good carving 🎉❤

thoughts on the new etnies reissues? stoked to see the snakes and calicuts back again. the snakes feel identical to the ‘96 version
Seem really slim from what I've seen but I still want to try some out

I got lucky finding the Angel boy slider graphic complete at a flea market when I was like 9-10 and had it ever since
Ohhhhhh I loved them shoes
i actually made the logo for my woodshop class in 7th grade, made it into a clock lol
angel boy its not 2004......more like 98-99...those boards (i had one) where also in the PS1 game street sk8er:)...great vids!
Ipath leather grasshopper were the best skate show ever!
I’d love a pair of Grasshopper’s in black leather, Ryan Gallant suited them very well.
I have preferences, but I can skate whatever I hate Krux trucks, though I could never get them to tighten. Complained about it and they were just rude to me also too they sent me two different size trucks and never fixed the problem
I’ve been trying to skate in old Ipaths and they just keep falling apart. I can’t wait for the reissues!
UV light affects rubbers and causes oxidation those wheels probably came from a more sunny spot 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve been reusing my vans rowan 1’s pop crush insole you get with em
Dude, i dont know how.. but i predicted this would happen. Like 2 years ago.
Been rocking Ipath since i was 13. still have photos rocking the grasshoppers while skating a minigolf course ramp lmao. Still daily driving them to this day, albeit, more expensive.

Man I loved the grasshoppers and the cats were actually great for skating too
UV light makes urethane get discolored.

Is Axion already dead? They haven’t introduced any new shoes and their team is pretty much dead too.
Not dead but it is slowing down. The only new models they do are reissues and they're limited edition drops.
