In addition to the matter explosion powers, Rex was given physical enhancements too. Low level strength, durability, reflexes, etc.
7:30 I think it's not just because of Kate. Remember what Nolan told Mark in the Season 1 finale? "You are fighting, just so you can see everyone die. Everyone and Everything you know, will be gone! What wil you have after 500 years?"
Immortal kinda has to face that same question. This guy's at least a thousand years old. He saw whole civilizations rise and fall, died and got revived multiple times and outlived so many loved ones. Now he lost a loved one again, knowing very well it won't be the last time. I bet he is just exhausted at this point. Being immortal is probably more a curse than a blessing.
Also regarding Rex: nah he has no special healing powers, he's just very lucky. ^^ It's possible to survive a headshot, depending on the angle the bullet enters and exits and how much of the brain get's damaged. People did survive that in rl.
I once read a story about a husband who went to the doctor because of a headache and they discovered a hole in the back of is head and a freaking bullet INSIDE of is head. Apparently the dude got shot in the back of is head by his wife while he was sleeping. But somehow except for a hole and a bullet in his head everything seemed to be fine. It sounds crazy but that stuff really happens. XD
Yeah, humans are simultaneously extraordinarily durable and pathetically fragile.
They dont explain but, Rex in the comics has a higher resistance to explosions and trauma, shame they decided to not talk about this on the show yet

19:30 the creator of the Invincible comics also created The Walking Dead comics. Also this episode made me finally really like Amber. She's definitely way better of a character in even the first episode of season 2 compared to season 1, but that scene of both of them talking to other people edited together really made me feel for her. I felt the same way about the Guardians being wiped out too, I could've done with Kate and Rae being gone but Rex dying would've been too much. He's like Amber in that they were unlikeable characters in season 1 but really good characters in season 2.

Shrinking Rae surviving is a change from the comics I’m curious to see play out (ie will she be taking on other characters’ roles?)
Definitely was nice to see Space Racer briefly, I’m a fan of Marvel’s Silver Surfer and have a healthy appreciation for DC’s Lobo so it’s neat seeing Invincible creating a character that merges these two pretty different characters together.
The show also nailed the Rognarrs and this was a good preview of what’s to come with them (several fights in particular, especially one that lasted 5 issues)
I feel like this is teetering very closely to spoiler territory, no?
Next episode features a spoilery character so be careful

Season 1 yea. Season 2 not so much IMO
I hate how the scriptwriters destroyed the Amber character so they could push their illogically stupid narrative.
In season 1 yea she was unlikable, but in season 2 she is a cool and relatable character.
