Just an F.Y.I., Robert Kirkman said he had a 7 or 8 Season plan for this series, so while Season 3 is expected to be released in early 2025, the story won't be finished until the early 2030s at the rate the show is going.
Rex was given various enhancements and one primary power.
He can charge small amounts of matter to the pont where they explode. He wears cylinders on his belt that dispence small metal coin sized discs which Rex can charge up quickly and throw, or else he can charge and throw the entire cylinder for a bigger blast.
He is also more durable than a normal human, faster, agile, better reflexes and can heal quickly but not regenerate. So if Rex loses a limb or teeth, they don't grow back.
Rex's new hand allows him to focus his energy through it for an awesome mega blast.
Rex often talks about having a terrible childhood, not having a home, and not going to school. These enhancements were given to Rex when he was young and probably contributed to his terrible childhood.

They actually handled the breakup of Amber so much better than in the comics, it’s actually insane how bad the breakup was there
What did they do in the comics?
@@pumkindsd5025 some of the events swapped around so the Angstrom fight happened much earlier than most of the events in the second half of season 2, and given what future eve says during the season finale, it leads to some very awkward moments where they practically cheat on each other before breaking up. Also Eve was being very demanding once she knew they broke up, so that’s also wasn’t great

@@angelo423 yeah I thought the comics did it fine too, the show actually made me dislike Amber whereas in the comics I never disliked her.
Some Non-Spoiler FYI:
- Source - the Image Comics Database - Rex has low level superpowers including enhanced strength, durability, and agility. His ability to charge up objects kinetically to make explosions come from tech implants in his arms.
- Kaiju means giant monster. Some are much stronger than others. Mark pretty much beat that Kaiju the Atlantis fish people had. Kaijus have different powers & weaknesses so we can't gage how strong Anrisa is compared to Nolan from her Kaiju victory.
- Thraxans only live up to 1 year, most die around 9 months of age. Their perception of time is accelerated to us humans, just as our perception of time is accelerated to Viltrumites. That Thraxan heritage is why little Oliver is learning so much quicker than a baby human. Since he already ages so much slower than Thraxans, it's a good bet that Oliver will gain other Viltrumite powers as he ages.
- According to Comic Vine, no Viltrumite is ever stated to pass the mark of 100,000 years old. To give a perspective of time for Omni-Man: When Omni-Man crushed Red Rush's head, it lasted less than a second but felt like hours to Red Rush. Omni-Man has the opposite problem. At one time Nolan brought up a memory that he stated happened "just the other day". Debbie corrected him and said "Nolan! That was years ago!"
To make calculations simple, let's equate 80,000 years Viltrumite life span and 80 years Human life span.
Applying the time perception ratio of a Vitrumite living to 80,000 years and a human living to 80 years.
80,000 yrs / 80 yrs = a factor of 1,000
Same factor ratio by human standards - 80 years / 1,000 = 0.08 year
Since 1 year = 365 days
0.08 x 365 days = 29.2 days
So 80 years to a Viltrumite feels approximately like 29.2 days to a human. Debbie was already an adult when Nolan met her. Nolan spent 20 years on Earth = feeling like 7.3 days to a Viltrumite. The rest of Debbie's life would be approximately 40 years which feels like 14.6 more days for Nolan. It was Debbie's short lifespan that made her feel more like a "pet" to Nolan.

Rex’s power is charging things up with energy to turn them into bombs, like Gambit from X Men basically. idk if it’s meant to be an organic power here, but in the comic they put implants in his hands that do it. And he was also modified to have denser skin and muscle, and enhanced strength and reflexes
The assistant was Grey DeLisle. Does a lot of minor characters but also some bigger roles like Monster Girl and Shrinking Ray
Viltrumites don’t have super hearing. They are very kryptonian-ish, so it’s an understandable assumption
There was a kaiju that Nolan struggled with but he did manage to defeat it, the first time. Mark defeated it the second
In the comics Mark was told it would be hundreds of years before they came to fully take over Earth, so it makes me wonder if they forgot to include that here because *what is Mark doing?!* He basically hasn’t told anyone they’re coming! We need to prep! He didn’t go back to earth for two months!
I’m pretty sure they didn’t do the 100 years in the show to add stakes and tension

Rex can affect kinectic energy/matter to the poin that they become unstable and explode. So the things he's been throwing aren't special tools or devices, they're basically just metal coins and rods.

The Kaiju that Nolan fought in season 1 was off screen but it wasn't as one sided as Omni Man's fights usually are. Cecil said he's never seen Omni-Man "on the ropes" like that and decided to have the GDA take the Kaiju's body as a contigency. Then in episode 7 when Omni-Man goes full villain, Cecil unleashes the Kaiju on Omni-Man but said that they gave it a bunch of drugs and enhancements and removed its pain receptor and it blames Omni-Man for it so it pretty much beats the shit out of Omni-Man until Mark saves him

The Kaiju that Nolan thought was different. So it's difficult to say if she's stronger, but she is faster.

I have a theory based on just watching the show as to why Viltrumites don't immediately kill each other and why there's that thing within the prison. They probably don't have a huge population to control all these sectors of the universe they're tryimg to conquer so they have to keep any potential overseer alive if possible. With Earth specifically, it offers a close to pure genetic breeding grouns so of course they want to keep humans alive with Mark as an example. That's just my theory with the information i have with the show.
Lol in the comic they have a similar talk about "cutting corners" but is by reusing the same drawing over and over 😊with different word bubbles

You keep constantly saying the Gaurdians are ass but they are touted as the best there is. Just because they lose a lot doesn't really mean they suck, it more shows that the threats they are facing are that much greater.

At least the show runners said they have been deep into work on season 3 for sometime now. They said it shouldn’t be more than a year before it releases maybe less. Also earlier this week the show was already renewed for both seasons 4 & 5!!!

This is the first I'm hearing of renewal for 4 & 5. A Google search says that is still not official from Amazon yet. I really hope so though. I want them to stay way ahead of the release schedule so we don't have anymore long breaks.
@@IsItReallyMe I wouldn't worry. Part of season 2 taking so long was because they started late as Steven Yeun said like around 2022 I think. He said like January that they didn't even start yet

13:23. I gotta say, I really enjoyed Anissa's introduction into the Amazon Prime series, though I'm not really looking for "that" particular moment between her & Mark being adapted. Also, I was surprised that she was remodeled a bit in the show that she resembles Sasha Calle's Supergirl.

19:50. Maybe it's just me, but I feel Levy's hatred of our Mark is unjustified. Levy said that in most other dimensions Invincible helps Omni-Man take over the planet, but our Mark didn't. Sure, the transfer of memories of his other selves showed Levy what an evil Invincible could be like, but he knows our Invincible is a hero. If Levy is mad at Mark for stopping the memory transfer, as Mauler pointed out by taking of the helmet it caused all of his other selves to die (which Levy seemed to gloss over) & his brain to be deformed. Also, Levy was the 1 who decided to transfer 1,000 minds all at once instead of 1 at a time, so was his own carelessness that caused him to become a villain. Finally, I feel Levy should have teamed up with our Mark to learn more about why he opposed Omni-Man & the Viltrumite Empire since he knows most Marks teamed up with them. If Levy had discovered why our Mark was unique in wanting to protect the Earth he could find a way to stop the Viltrumite Empire here.
But that's the point. His memories merged and the amount memories of Marks who are evil overpower the ones who aren't. 🤦🏼
Rex is more or less an enhanced human i don't want to spoil much because they may make a special about like they did with eve but he's basically like a mini Captain America with a few other things added on.

So it’s been a few weeks and I’m still not over the audacity and irony of Invincible’s showrunners, casting director, etc. deciding to cast Shantel VanSanten, who played Becca Butcher on The Boys, as the voice of Anissa. As you’ve seen/will discover Anissa is the polar opposite of Becca in more ways than one.
All that said from one episode alone VanSanten has done a good job with making Anissa sound like the chilling threat she’s supposed to be. It also once again makes me giddy to see who they’ll cast as the remaining “big” Viltrumite characters, including the one that Anissa warned Mark/the audience about

No offense, but how are you confused on how Rex’s powers work plenty of times when he’s used his powers, his hands start glowing along with the fact that the stuff he’s using is just regular sticks and stuff. He’s kind of like gambit from X-Men. It blows my mind that you’re confused about it because remember he threw some magnetic letters and made them a bomb an episode five of season one
