I tried this the other day and it indeed is incredibly difficult and works your core like crazy. I can usually do a SLBS with 225 but could only do this with 115 😅
@@Messup7654 it’s definitely a exercise you don’t need to max out on. Unless you are competing in something. It’s very hard to maintain proper form and balance with a ton of weight

Ill have to try this. My favourite core excercise is single KB farmers walk. I just walk up and down the road trying to stay straight with 55lb on one side and I really feel it.
When i brace my core, tighten my abs i getscswnsations downbmy legs and feet. It began when i used to brace super hard but now it shows up even with axlight brace and no weight. I dont know what to do im going bonkers i miss lifting 😔
If it hurts it could be a bulging disk but i'm no physician, should probably contact a doctor if it's a returning problem and preventing you from exercising
You're wrong in multiple factors. 1. The limiting factor in this exercise is unsurprisingly the quads which (sirprise surprise) not the abs and we know to make the biggest gains its best to make that particular muscle into failure and make them the limiting factor. 2. The most hypertrophic part of a workout is the stretched position for thr muscle and the eccentric movement and youre doing neither.
Back squats absolutely destroy my core when braced, ATG, with a neutral spine and no butt wink sets of 8-10. I can only squat about 225. But with this squat variation my quads and core LIGHT UP with only 115 on the bar. Im seriously almost about to puke after my third set. The visibility of my core has also exploded. These come highly recommended by me!
That doesnt really make any sense because function of the abdominals are to prevent you from falling backwards so loading the squat at front will take allt that tension away from the core and shift to to spine erectors to prevent us from falling forward so the best exercise for it is a low bar squat with as little glute activation as possible (tom platz style) since the bar is is behind your body as much as possible your core prevents you from falling backwards and using a quad dominant technique and going straight up and down ensures that we keep that tension and the abs through out the entire range of motion try it out and thank me later it absoloutly blows out your core

You can definitely build them up fast. I started doing SL barbell squat a year ago and now I do 70kg for both SLBS and SLFS.
Gosh I might only do this with like 35 pounds then since my max squat is 175

Overhead press is insane Core exercises.I do them for Core rather then shoulders.

Let’s goooo!!! Adding this to the regimen!
Barbell rows work just as well
I feel like this would tire out other muscle groups before my abs got to failure. Might be a good stability drill tho
I agree with this 10000%
That escalated quickly

Very true
I feel more bracing demand setting for a deadlift; with the squat I’m still working it, but feel like I can cheat it a bit
I think stone lifting would probably be a better option
Can u do this with dumbbells
What about ab roller?
Bulgarian split squat?
That’s a good one!

Influencers going around telling people this is the best core exercise…. Not even close
Things are hard as shit to do. Especially if you're tall. Feels like getting robbed 😂😂😂
Word being taller makes most of these exercises complicated af getting robbed is the perfect comparison😂
I know a delt workout that doesn’t require delt workout
ABSolutely
Ill stick to front squats!!!!
With a pause !!!
It’s actually broad jumps
Bruh I can’t even do a squat like that with no weights
Ok but why is that foot rest $250? 🤨
Lol right
Push up are better for core. Infact you should be tightening your core when you do anything.
1 day people will realize the core (as is called) is complex as hell and in 99% of situations is reactive not active.
This guy just be saying shyt lol
he said ‘blow up your abs’ abs different to core and single leg squat will definitely not give u abs
very confident that this is not true lol. do you have evidence to support this claim?

This video pisses me off. There’s a great reason NOBODY does this for abs 🤦♂️

It's your diet, you need to eat in a deficit. All this garbage about getting abs.
not really
Hahahahaha. Who invented that "core" shit??? I'm sure that it wasn't invented by the pioneers of fitness, Arnold, Zane , Robinson, Platz, etc etc etc.

Try both and compare
They tested this. Squats hardly work the abs. Deadlifts barely work the abs either. Dont spread nonsense
