Great video and Troy got right 2 the point. Question how do u work the speaker on this and Is there a way to make It work with 3rd party ap's? Howcome some people got a white remote or basic black like I have and not the 1 with the backlight button that's highlighted In Blue and say's "Live TV"?
@@BigFredddy68 thanks for the comment. I go over much of this in my review - troypoint.com/onn-4k-pro-streaming-device/ Not sure why that rumor ever started about the backlit remote. I haven't heard of anyone who has one yet.
@@troypoint Question I have 2 ONN Boxes and neither 1 has the Remote with the Backlight (Big Blue Button that say's" Live TV" missing) also when I click on Settings then click on Privacy scroll down there's NO option for Google Assistant or Purchase History can somebody please help? THANKS
I'm using Emoten launcher and it works like a charm on the star button without anything. No other apps or anything
Note: I didn't test all launchers with the star button. Some of them may support it but not all of them.
I use Projectivity Launcher on my Onn 4k Pro and the star button does work for me.
I use the star button for wolf launcher

Very cool. I will probably buy this app. For now I am using the free version of Buttons Remapper. The free version lets me program only two buttons. I primarily use it to program the super sensitive Netflix button on my NVIDIA Shield remote so that it does nothing when accidentally touched. I never use Netflix. It can be highly frustrating and disruptive when the Netflix app launches while I'm trying to stream a show on a different app.
How does tv quick actions compare to Button Mapper? I was able to enable a third party launcher on an ONN stick without using launcher manager using Button Mapper. I haven't opened this newest ONN device yet.
I wish I could find someone making button covers. So when I change the Netflix button to Kodi, it would have a Kodi button cover.
That’s a great idea, if anyone could come up with/that they could sell to chord cutters. Maybe like 1/2 dozen to a sticker. I.E. , Kodi,tvmate, settings, downloaded, vpn, and whatever. I’d buy a few. $$$$maker idea😂😊

Can you create shortcuts to actual TV controls? For example there is only one power button. It is used to turn on my Samsung TV. I need another power button to turn on my Visio sound bar.

I am trying to add the ONN 4K Pro to my Harmony Elite, but need Model number. Does anyon know how to add to Harmony as a device?
Has anyone been able to connect an Air mouse or keyboard with a usb dongle on their Onn 4 k pro? Mine connects to the external hard drive but won't recognize any of my keyboards or air mouse. They all work fine on the Fire Stick.
They include 3 or 4 different remote, Iam wondering this method is right for all of them
Sure wish they'd allow for a RESTART option on this button or on remote - I find that some apps cause other apps to lock up and find restsart to fix...

Troy pointe I put the map button on my Google pro and I come home today, the app is gone and map buttons not working anymore.
With the ONN 4K pro on an Amazon fire tv. The star button is inoperative. Does nothing. Anyone figured out why?

Is there an app that will put an icon on my custom launcher screen that will take me to the default Google Home screen so you don't have to go into Launcher Manager and disable the custom launcher every time you want to get back to the default Google Home screen?
I just remapped one of the remote buttons to go to the google home screen.

No it doesn't. There might be other features within the app that require it but not what I did in the tutorial.

Anyone have issues with Cinema being slow and not having smooth response? Also the RD linkd dont comeinyellow, they are all white. like the non paid links. im using 3.0 Cinema And Black remote with backlite

The star button is only available on the new Onn 4K Pro.
I wish there was a way to do this with that stupid huge Netflix button on the newer Nvidia Shield TV remote!! I HATE this button bc it always gets pressed accidentally typically when im in the middle of watching a movie/show! I’d like to ask whoever designed this what they were smoking lol

I have the Onn 4k Pro and when i hit the power button on the remote to shut the box off, it also shuts off my TV and cable box. Is there a way to just shut off the box with the remote?
Turn off HDMI CEC option in the settings this will not control the TV only the device.

doesn't work for roku.
As I said in video it is for Android TV and Google TV.
What about setting up wolf launcher as the home default button does that work not so much concerned about the star key just want the home button to activate wolf launcher and to keep wolf launcher as launcher on startup or turning TV on.
Please see my link in description for that. You can activate Wolf or any other launcher with Launcher Manager.

HDR FAIL Doesn't play HDR content.
My Shield and Firestick Max do. Will return the onn. Pro unless a firmware update fixes this.
Since the Android/Onn remotes do not have a Previous Channel button or dedicated Play/Pause buttons,
can you show how to do that with the Panel or with any other button like Bookmark or dedicated app buttons at the bottom.
Example: Single press the Bookmark button for Play/Pause, Long press the Bookmark button for Previous Channel.

Note: The old Onn White AndroidTV remote has a Bookmark button,
onGoogleTV and this black remote it looks like a "Profile" button.
Onn TV and Google TV use the "OK" button for these functions. press it once and it pauses, press again and it plays, press and hold and it goes to your previous channel.
@@GaryRiley4017 I think that works depending on the app developer recognizing those button presses,
whereas a dedicated button or remapped button will send the native codes for those functions.
I could be wrong but in Channels the Previous channel long press does not work.

I'm not impressed with mine, unfortunately. My onn Google TV device won't allow for HDR or Dolby. It only supports SDR on my 4K resolution TV.
Also, that Google Talk Back? It's annoying as XXXX. How many people on the planet even KNOW what the word "verbosity" means?
While it's a fun device to futz around with, I'm not impressed with it. But, that's just me.
