Idk, I'm more of a casual player but I don't think the opportunist change was enough to keep her balanced, I think making changes to just stealth or translocator individually would have been better
I'm not a fan. I've pretty much stopped playing DPS at this point. The virus rework was already a huge blow, and at this point she doesn't even resemble the hero I fell in love with. She's literally not even Sombra anymore.
I do like this sombra more for game health over perma stealth, but I will die on the hill of separating invis and translocator as two abilities to feel more fluid and if not, just for the old hand animation to come back from ow1!
idk if this sounds shit, but just get rid of virus, increase bullet damage and separate translocate and stealth. Just to reduce the amount of buttons she has haha, i dont have enough fingers. So basically OW1 sombra after release, with a shorter invis duration and a shittier translocate. They just do too much all at once with sombra, idk why.

I honestly feel like I'm the only one taking out the Iilari pylons as well. Last night I just watched my team try to take out a Rein with a pylon behind him and his shield.... I finally just pulled out the barbie blaster every time I saw one after that lololol
The change definitely made it so you have to be more proactive about either engaging into fights or finding places to sneak around in preparation for fights.

I honestly love her, I like playing Sombra aggressive and now it feels like I can play her frontlines but also go for off angles and flanks with her new translocator system

I never played her before the big nerf so I have no idea what I’m missing with the old strong Sombra. I’m having the time of my life fr. Its nice to watch another Sombra at work even after the change
The only good thing about the Sombra changes is that I hardly ever have to fight against her. The bad thing is that I just lost one of the most fun heroes to play as and my map is riddled with Widowmakers every game. It is almost a given now that I will have a Widow 70 meters away controlling sections of a map. If they want to keep this iteration of clunky Sombra, they should raise her health a bit or at least have an escape option not tied with stealth. Right now the hero feels clunkly, and no-where near as fun as before. Hopefully they take her back to the drawing board. Edit: I can see you are skilled with Sombra, but I can see how clunky her gameplay feels like in a fast paced game like this. It doesn't feel like you are having much fun with the changes. (Yes I know he said as much, but even if there was no audio I can still see how not fun it is to play this iteration.)

@@The_Rilo Who would have thought that moving cover to cover while your team is stuck in a 4v5 with a 1 shot opponent would be a good idea? And then when you get to her she can grapple away or turn around and blast you down as well. Plus a good team will be aware and peel for her. There is this weird backlash on counters for heroes that I don't understand. Sombra was good against one shot heroes, she used to be able to shut down Bob too. Do we now take away Reinhart's shield because he can block Dva's Ult? Do we take away ice wall because it can do the same? Enjoy the game buddy, I am out. There is always a Widow out now that I have to go cover to cover, wait for 2 secs for the cooldown, crouch around. That just sucks.

i always felt the "nerf" for sombra honestly wasnt just healthier for the overall game experience, but really makes sombra's high level plays feel more earned. Having moblity tied to an active AND a passive was just too much, tying it all to one ability is just way more reasonable
it’s definitely a learning curve with the new patch. however she’s still fun and like u said is more lethal. you just have to play more aggressive now and it’s satisfying when you cook
yea i feel i get many more triple + kills with her now. It it feels nice to be with more damage. I do wish still to have my own stealth ability to use my translocator in different ways

It’s called Virus, It does 35 impact damage + 75 DoT damage to equal 110 damage. But if the enemy is hacked, it does 70 impact damage + DoT to equal 145 damage.
the only bad thing in my opinion is that inviz and tp is on the same cooldown and abillety slot tbh if they would make invis a 5 sec cooldown and 8 sec invise and tp back to 5 sec cooldown i wouldent mind the changes olso i hate cube get that trash out of her kit blizzard it sucks
I've seen a similar issue with Mercy. Tbh her mobility is good enough in my opinion to where her Rez can just be placed with her Valk as the ult. Push once to valk, again to rez. No more accidental Rezzes on glide. And a lot of people are mad Mercy can Rez every team fight anyway.
The invisibility time is just too low for this to be a viable kit. You have no time to really get around behind anyone and the translocator escape is just not good anymore. Its way too easy to run down a sombra now after she translocates. So thats the 2 main things she does are significantly worse. And of course hacking players is basically useless nowadays since it takes almost linger to cast than it lasts and doesnt even work on moat abilities you would want to hack anyway. Its almoat just like, whats the point od the hero anymore. Unless you have legit good aim or the other team is oblivious she doesnt do much of anything anymore.
Maybe they could move invis to hack? So even when she's not hacking anything she can stand still and activate her cloak? For Mercy I'd move her Rez to ult as I trust myself with her mobility and I hate wasting a Rez and being slowed down due to it when I JUST wanted to glide.
Would yall hate it if Blizz moved Virus to Ult and moved Invis to Ability 2? The Ult would still EMP(Mass Hack), but will also put enemies in a virused state. Immediate changes to compensate: 1. Hacking enemies no longer disables cloak. It just reveals again. 2. Lower TF outta EMP damage as I think virus hits harder on hacked targets. (EMP is just a hack anyway so it doesn't have to do massive dmg in this form) - Hazard's Ult I think does 35dmg but it traps enemies for example. May not have to be that low but hey I'm spitballing. 3. Keep her newish passive: "More dmg on hacked targets" to compensate on the lack of virus on ability now. (Miiiiiight have to make it faster but at least no annoying virus chip dmg till ult) Idk the only actual complaint I heard about Sombra beyond "she's useless now" was "I wish invis was a separate ability" and that's something I can get behind. Hack > Invis > TP may be more valuable in the base kit than Hack > Virus > TP. We could also just let Virus be the ult and any target she hacks after increases the virus's dmg/s. That makes a lot of sense to me. Imagine rushing in cloaked to virus the field and then hack the enemy BOB and he starts to MELT. That'll compensate for the shorter duration BOB gets disabled for.
Please read the whole thing b4 yall respond as I DID consider just letting Virus be a stand alone ult instead of mixed with Hack on top of that. And be respectful it's a game not basic human rights.

Virus on ult could be cool, but also it’s going to make cleansing or out healing the virus pretty hard. But like you said, unless it’s just a little more damage like 30-50 i wouldn’t mind it. I'd rather they do that kind of thing to the ult and just make sure the base kit/abilities aren't hindered from unintentionally doing 2 things at once. Using Mercy as an example again there have been times I would glide backwards only to be stopped by a Rez and then I get picked off. If we just use Ult to enter Valk and then press the key again near a soul, then glide would be just glide and she wont accidentally Rez on Valk cuz she would need to press it twice anyway. I'm still waiting for a Zen rework. All they really touch on him is the ult charge.

ive been playing the new sombra and shes not bad but her emp is lowkey useless, i only use it to cancel ults
shes not bad at all, the stealth takes time to get used to but im glad her hack damage can actually kill now

She's really not that bad. This is my favorite version of her (could use a CD refund on translocator tho)
