Late Night on Steelbender Trail

  • Went in to Steelbender Trail to get a SXS that the steering rack failed in. Was going to come out the way we went in, but some of the ledges have gotten fairly large so we decided to finish the trail out. That required climbing the main large obstacle called "the Fall" on tge trail. We tried it once, and decided to winch it. Easier to just pull a winchline then risk damaging a customer's rig.

    Started watching because you showed off one of our favourite parts of the world. But are regularly in absolute awe of the driving that you do and the honest work that you put into every job. Don't change what you are doing and how you do it. The honesty is what makes it worth watching. Thank you for your effort and time in making these videos.

    That truck is one heck of a beast. It is like an overgrown mechanical version of our wombats. They are a chubby medium size dog that thinks they are bulldozers, and if they decide to go somewhere they just go. If you are in the way they simply walk through you. Not fast normally, but incredibly stubborn. Sounds like your truck?

    I really liked the video from the "Pullee" viewpoint and from the side at 19:00 mins. The night recoveries with all the lights on are cool and kind of focus your attention. Having the headsets for communicating is great, I have been wondering why other recovery operators don't have them. They are a lot better than honking the horn and waving arms. Personally we use them all the time on group MC rides and love em.

    • @michaelosmon
      @michaelosmon 3 года назад

      My moms ex husband had a makeshift tow truck in a van. It was interesting, he had a couple pieces of belted rubber with tubular steel top and bottom, the bottom had a steel tube back to the van and it allowed for movement for turning. It had hooks on it and he’d back it into the car bumper and chain the car axle on the bottom and the top he’d lift with the winch and when he lifted it tightened everything rubber against the car bumper and lifted it. It was pretty ingenious and easily removable
