I travel long distance on Amtrak which is my most favorite way to travel & see the country. I also ride Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliners from San Diego to Los Angeles & Oxnard,CA when I’m home in the San Diego area. I alternate my visits between Los Angeles & Oxnard every other visit home to the San Diego area. The ride on the Pacific Surfliners beats the traffic on the I-5/U.S.101 parking lots where people slow down for the sake of going slow when the weather is dry & nice, no accidents & no construction zones. I rode on the Texas Eagle from Chicago to Dallas on 10/4-5,2012 and the traffic midday about between 12 Noon & 3 PM just before the afternoon rush hour on the I-55 parking lot was heavy, many of the nations urban areas the interstate highways are now parking lots.
Joel Alba, good for you. I rode the Sunset Limited from Tucson to New Orleans, spent the night at the O’Keefe Hotel in New Orleans. I boarded the Crescent & rode it to Wilmington,DE. The trip was great. I was already retired 2 weeks when I made to trip, I attended my 40 year high school class reunion in Newark,DE. On 10/3-4,2010 I rode Amtrak’s Cardinal from Wilmington,DE to Chicago, in Chicago I boarded the Texas Eagle for Dallas, stayed with my youngest in in Irving,TX for the Discovery Day weekend, then returned to Tucson aboard the Texas Eagle & Sunset Limited.
Wow!, that's really a very nice train....Hopefully in the near future, me and my family might visit your beautiful and freedom loving country for vacation....Thanks buddy....
This trip was great Peter. As I remember the farmlands out of Omaha, Sears Tower in Chicago walking on the (scary) glass floor and the small towns in between to the Rock N Roll hall of Fame in Cleveland.Yup,the observation deck was a great view. 👍😊

video recording travel is one of your strengths. Keep making Amtrak videos. I plan to take the Sunset Limited when I retire in early 2020.
