I'm not gonna lie. As a huge lover of music and video game music in general ark is by far one of my favorites of all time. It's by far one of the best I've heard which is saying a lot for video game music. From the sound of the trumpets and brass blaring to the overwhelming harmony of the choir, the whole song comes out as this beautiful epic composition that fills you up with excitement and wonder as you take on your next mighty beast or dive in to an unknown world full of splendor and fasicination. Few other pieces can match the overall tone and feel that this soundtrack gives you and I promise you. Once you hear it, it won't be leaving your head for a long time.
I actually think this isn't Cokers best work .Its an epic work, thats for sure, but check out his soundtrack for Ori and the Willow of the wisp. That shits just magical.
What they created here was magic, i have no doubts.

I’ve been searching for far too long to find it
I have to say, recently started to play this game... The soundtrack hit me quite hard. Searched composer on google and ended up into this video. I have some small background in brass instruments, and it is incredible how much emotion music can make you feel.
Looking at this brought tears in my eyes, due to sheer power that emits from it and the awesome people behind it. I am so glad movie and game industry keep classic music composing alive and well so we can enjoy masterpieces like this also in the future.
The performance of the Orchestra is amazing...
but the performance of the game on my PC is not that good :D
Flauxhol i was getting 18fps on a toshiba labtop no SSD 1 driver, before the optimizations on high textures and medium all Elsa except shadows on low, buffering on epic
How bad can your performance be?
Since the last optimizations and drivers releases I am averaging like 80-100 fps with a 980ti classified ,an I7 3770 and 16 gb of ram, on almost all epic settings except shadows. Its a hell of alot better than it was. Even Flying full speed on a ptera with 300% move(classic flyers mod) I am way above 60 fps.
lag is not the same that fps.
William I have the same specs bro and I'm getting 50fps epic settings on 1440p. This game is unoptimized as hell
William why would I lie dipshit? I can see what the fucking fps counter says in the corner of my screen. The only real time it drops below 60 lately is when my base is first loading in when I enter the area. There is still some lag here and there of course but I am avergaing above 60 fps at 1080p. Im noy saying it does not need some more optimization, of course it does but most of the peoole complaining are trying to run it on a laptop or a potato pc. It is an intensive game with a lot of processes going on in the background. It needs a decent rig to run well.

I remember seeing ARK before I had a PC, I loved the concept of it and watched so many videos on it, I got a gaming laptop last year around July 15th and got ARK: SOTF, I played over 140 hrs in that and had so much fun, then during that summer sale I got ARK: SE, I was so excited, I played with my brother local, did the island and the centered then got scorched earth, I love the game, I just wish that I could run it better :( I have a 960M in my laptop and it just can't handle the beauty and capability ARK can withhold, I wish I had a better graphics card to run this and/or optimizations coming, because playing it at my level actually hurts my eyes from the low fps and bad graphics (compared to my bro who has a 1070 feelsbadman) Can't wait to see what come now
OH and I love the music, I could listen to the menu music all day

I just love that everytime the main theme is worked into every piece of music he made, it just marks that it’s an ark song and they did it so well

Ark is one of those games that you wish you could experience for the first time over and over again.
@@reidf8506 I played for months on an OC server with an alpha tribe that allowed bobs to build, before server transfers were a thing and before Chinese Zergs were a thing. I remember logging on one day to hear a massive Chinese tribe had arrived. The whole server tried to help our alpha defend from them but they had too many members and always had someone online, it's like they never slept and farmed 24/7. Everyone was wiped within 3 days. Eventually the mega tribes from Europe, Australia were formed to counter the Chinese tribes and some of them became even worse at bullying and owning servers. Being a small tribe or solo Bob has been impossible on PvP servers ever since.
@@reidf8506 I played before the Chinese Alphas, was a good year until our Aussie server was invaded by a Chinese tribe who were online 24/7. It really sucked. Everyone stopped playing for a while.
This game offers a ton of good times and will give you memories for years to come.
Can we get the piano sheet music for the theme?
I don't know a lot about music, but wouldn't you need a sheet for every instrument in each song?

I'm gratefull for your work and I'm happy to pay for it because, even there is some kind of thechnical issues, no matter how, your still work on it, and still continue to upgrade the game. You make on of those rare games this times, who clearly deserve to be known and applaused ! And tho work and heart you put just in the music, show how this game is good !
Wow, so many chills. I have always loved the care that went into the music and sound overall for this game. I love that instead of a generic combat track, they took the care and time to make one for each biome.

This is the best thing i have ever seen...
There really isn't anything like Ark's soundtrack. It is just so powerful and unique and so fitting for the game. I really just can't put it into words how good it is. Ark's theme is ingrained into my memory more then any other song out there, bringing me back to the hours and hours of goofing off with my friends, throwing dodos at each other, getting killed, coming back, setting each other on fire, getting killed again, getting eaten by a rex, and finally achieving victory over whatever we were focusing on at the time, whether it be an ankylo or a giga. And all those memories have this amazing soundtrack behind it.
Gareth Coker, it's wonderful to see inside the creation and development of these soundtracks. I love that you do a lot of these 'making of' style vidocs, i watched the Ori trailer one too. Used to enjoy the Marty O'Donnell/Bungie ones too. Back before. When they were awesome... *has a sad*.

I really wish they’d do another behind the scenes like this now that the game has become so big and ASA and ARK 2, as well as the animated series all feature awesome music from Gareth Coker. It’s such an amazing soundtrack that really ties the epic adventures you go through to finish this game, particularly the ascension track in Aberration (not to mention the top tier menu/trailer music). Even when I’ve gone through long periods of not playing the game, I like to listen to the soundtrack while I work.
I play this game WAAAAAAAY more than I should. I've listened to your music almost every day for 3 years. I hear it in my sleep sometimes.. love it!
