Hello Team my question is, do we need the particular app installed on the phone of a customer for sending the notification to the customer? if we have only the phone number and the customer don't have any particular app then?? can we send me notification ?? according to loaction ?
Hi, that is correct. Your audience needs to have your application installed in order to them receive your notifications. If you only have their phone number, your options are very limited. You need to contact your local cellular operators to ask, if they allow you to send location-based sms messages.
Hi, I'm not sure which project you refer to. But I would not use mobile geofencing for this kind of use case. Mobile geofencing requires that all of the people you want to track have your application installed. This means that also the thief would need to have it. But if you are planning to put a GPS tracker in the car and detect its movements, that could be an interesting option. Please note that Proximi.io geofencing does not work for a use case like that.
At a company there were tracking devices inside expensive equipment....however once it left the building it no longer tracked the stolen item.....which did no good. Wasted tracking software purchase for sure.
Hi Ronak, It is possible to create functionality within your app that only works when you are inside a geofence. However, it is not possible to limit the opening of the entire app to the geofences.
how the geofence work for a marking a employee attendance through the existing app present in the mobile phone through the gps .?! it can be work in 100m to mark a attendance ?
That is indeed correct. But as we are able to utilize operating system's capability of detecting when user is moving and when they are stable, the system is not using excessive amounts of bayttery.
This was not known well 2 years ago. but now Samsung is Pushing this update IPSGeofence. April 2020. most Samsung users are very concerned about privacy issues. Even according to this video. the App is used for so many different purposes but NONE is beneficial to the end-user himself. for example Analytics- API calls. background processing. hardware. custom action flows. < This ALL lights up an Alarm. who the HELL needs this? what is for sure your phone becomes a tool for things you don't need. it's important to NOTE. SAMSUNG WILL NOT RELEASE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS UPDATE. which is now a RED FLAG.
I'm not familiar with the Samsung IPSGeofence and how they are planning to use it, but geofencing in general has many valuable use cases. Especially in applications used internally at workplaces, you can automatize the process of writing down when you arrived and when you left from somewhere. This is very useful in e.g. cleaning, home care and security sectors. In construction sector, geofencing technology is used to give alarms about accidents happening in the area. Regarding consumer-facing applications, one of our customers is for example a fitness app, that you can use to automatically record your gym visits. But I do agree with you, that all location data usage must be always done in consent with the user, and it needs to be clear what data is collected and why.
@@Proximiio I really appreciate your reply. I"ve tried to find more info about that specific app from Samsung. and you end up with nothing. no information whatsoever. and the lack of basic info on how Samsung plans to use it is even more concerning.
That's not exactly what geofences are for. Geofences could tell you how many people are in a specific region. But to calculate the distance between 2 people, you could take their coordinates and calculate the distance from there.
Isn't geofencing mentioned in Google's "privacy policy"? Whereas they use this app for request made by law enforcement or "advertising and marketing" tools? Whateva....this can definitely be misused. Especially when it becomes a political interest!
Depends on the project. Some of our customer projects only utilize Bluetooth beacons with geofences. But some positioning technology is required for detecting the geofences in any case.
If this technology is already available why can't they find any criminals by selling them something with an app installed in the item they are selling them to track and find more criminals....like their criminal contacts... child trafficking, drug cartel, etc. ????? For instance.... fast and furious whereas Wpns were given to drug cartel.... Wow then maybe they could have tracked the criminals and arrested them using geofencing?. But that would have been too easy right? .
look at what the words you use mean cartel. This is a agreed Apon monopoly left in dark market because gentlemen agreed to this. it's not for talking about it's used for extorsion against end users nothing more nothing less so that two i guess is human trafficking.
In summary the answer is yes, but is a bit more limited way. It is based on user movement, so it does work quite nicely in actual use cases. You can read in more detail here: proximi.io/will-my-geofencing-function-in-the-background/
So from this explanation, a business can only use Geofencing if the target audience has downloaded your app? I there a way to set up a Geofence if the user doesn't have your app? Could you apply a Geofence to commonly used customer apps like Google Maps or Yelp? For context, I'm interested in using Geofencing for lead generation of a high net worth individuals in a particular area of town. Thank you!!!
@@Proximiio i think the technology is amazing. It has so much power and potential. For example, an elderly person who has alzheimers who can wander off or a small child or even a pet. The geo-fence could be used as an aid to find them. However, the amount of information thar is being stored in a data base & the potential invasion of privacy, not to mention the profits made from selling "my information" is what I find disturbing. In many ways it can be considered slightlly voyeouristic in nature and in my opinion perverse. I use Google maps and keep an updated timeline, as a personal journal of sorts. Im nit a paranoid conspiracy freak. Yet, when I let my creative mind wander and consider the possible uses of this powerful technology it disturbs me more then comforts.
@@gessicastill2636 We agree with you on data privacy. Users of applications need to know what data is collected from them, how and why is it used and if it is shared with any third parties. According to the European data regulations, a user can always request to get access to all the data collected about them and have it deleted. These are the principles we work with :)
From technical perspective, you could do this through geofencing with your own workplace application. However, you need to be careful with making sure that you comply with all regulations and laws around privacy and employment in a use case like this.
At one time ...years ago ....a major company used an app similar to geofencing thru the employees badge. One could actually see every room an employee entered on the monitor and the accuracy was amazing.. And this technology was back in the late 90s. The employees were not aware of this tracking program and it was policy to always wear the name badge. However if the employee removed the badge of course one could not track.
They should use geofencing to keep prisoners in prison and ankle bracelets on those out on parole/probation to keep them within perimeters.. Already being used as a dog fence.
very useful
wonderful explanation👍
stay bless
Thank you!
Good work !!
Thanks!
Is there a way to see if a new phone has entered the area without a need for them to install an app? For security systems
No, that is not possible. For security systems a camera-based solution or something similar would work better.

I was thinking of doing some security system using geofencing
small players mostt likely wont be able to scale it
sending notifications without the customers confirmation (through usage of an app for example) is plain and simple spamming lol

so the location services MUST be always activated for the App to work…..
that means that the App is always looking for a relevant Geofence?
