I think the problem with USB C chargers is lost robustness... I break USB C cables often, the shell is easily damaged, while old USB A cable shells can be damaged they are more robust. I'd like to see an official magnetic charger/data connection standard preferably something with small mechanical insert to prevent disconnection by application of force at a right angle which disconnects the mag chargers I use. The main difference to a standard connector is that it would not be a friction detent it would rely on the magnet for insertion retention and mechanically on the connector for holding it's orientation to prevent inadvertent disconnection. Also most of the saved area there is from having no 110/220V cable... the included charger is already pretty compact.

yeah, that is the only thing I worry about, too. Mixing the 1000+ re-connect cycles with data and display use and such, ...

Maybe you would be interested in the following product then :

I'm very curious about how they got to make a double 100w charge in such a small footprint.
And apparently without temperature issues either.

no idea, everything I ever had from HP was so low, and falling apart quality, that I avoid them wherever possible. Except the HP PA-RISC though ;-) ruclips.net/video/ZB8eyBSczPM/видео.html
