Hearing other people's thoughts on this sort of decision is helpful. Thanks. I have been debating between a cruiser or an ADV. The bad and adverse roads argument is definitely a factor there.
I have a Varadero XL 125, 05' carb model, it smashers through potholes and speedbumps that used to terrify me on my Speedfight2 and Vision 110 scooters.
Yep same here but I realised that my main commute is around 20 miles a day and it's a mix of roads and also now I sway on the side of comfort, I love sports bikes but I get far more use out of my dero and also the advantage of an upright riding position is lovely plus being able to load up the bike for weekends away and still ride relatively fast and in comfort. I have dropped it twice over the years and no damage and found it knocked over onto a hedge and again no damage and I'm sure a sports bike would have cost a lot more in those scenarios. I love vfrs and sports bikes and never thought of this style of bike but now I would not go back, good luck with your decision, let me know how you decided.

Exactly my thought. Also onwing a Varadero sd02 for 11 years now and absolutely happy with it. Greetings from Austria.
That’s exactly my dilemma. In an ideal world I’d have more than one bike, but alas no. Can’t decide on a sports tourer or adv as my next bike 🤔
