Fun little car... kind of. Last time I checked it went by the name of Renault Twizy. I owned it for about 6 months. Range is about 100km max, speed 60 or 80km/h, suspension is hard like a F1 car, acceleration is decent but not amazing. The fact that is not sealed and there is no ventilation means that toxic exhaust gasses from conventional vehicles enter easy and stay long, especially in heavy traffic. It basically strips the feeling of comfort and protection you might be used to when driving a normal car. So you decide if that's fun or not.
I think this is the direction we're going to go in. Low cost to buy, low cost to operate, and takes up very little room to park and drive. However, it absolutely NEEDS windows that roll up and down. You have to be protected from the elements. And you need to be able to lock your stuff inside. I wish they said how fast it'll go, and how far.
I agree with you. I would like on to drive to work. I think if they get it right and the price is good, we will see many of these on the road and less gas-powered cars.
I wish they'd sell these in the US. In Europe it's called a twizzy and goes 55-60mph max (I think). LOVE IT! so many cool cars across seas that can't be sold here. That sucks.
This scooter car is actually from Renalut-Nissan, which is a joint company. It's the next gen of their most affordable electric car. There is also a version with a window. We will see a lot of those cars in the large cities around the world, because it's perfect for car sharing apps.
***** It's kind of interesting that in the EU, this is Renault, but in US this is Nissan. It's all OK, since it's the same company with different brands. I guess the people in US prefer to see Nissan on cars, and Europeans like Renault more. In any way, more electric cars is better for everybody who likes clean air.

Why on Earth are there no windows? Not only is that a safety concern but it becomes very awkward to drive during rain or simply cold weather. If you want to have your free 'wind-in-my-hair' experience there is this invention called electric windows that can be raised and lowered with a push of a button - what an exciting world do we live in /end of rant
What about the driving experience and the performance? Isn't that more important than spending so much time commenting on the looks you were getting in the vehicle?
Try one, they're rabid little go karts. In Europe we replaced the default battery and motor controller to give better range and higher speed after market.
Why do most of these videos withhold the Most important information, like how much do they cost. We generally believe that if you don't tell us then you know it costs too much!
Interesting vehicle but a first semester film student could do a better job on the video. Details? Price, availability, range, why no windows, what is the likelihood of the rear passenger getting their neck sliced with the ill-placed seat belt....
+Yahya Ahmedi I hope this brings down the price because a new Twizzy cost a whopping €10.000 which is about the same price as a very reasonable second hand Audi.
I think I'd have preferred to hear more about the speed it could go, the weight it could carry, etc and in Canadian or most of the US weather can get pretty severe. So closing up the windows to keep out the rain or snow and to keep things locked up and secure would be a must in my books. How does it handle on the wet or snowy roads? Is it legal on all roads?
I've been trying to find out if I can use this on Australian roads. Given that the beaurocracy here has a stranglehold on what one can and can't drive I'm not sure whether to go ahead with my purchase. The 2 things that put me off are the lack of bad weather protection from the sides, no windows, but having said that my brother would probably make some side curtains like the old sports cars had, and more tech info. Trying to make contact with these guys is nigh on impossible so another X on my don't buy list.
The seatbelt arrangement for the driver is far from ideal, surely a pillar of some description behind the driver seat would be a better idea? I can't imagine that it would add much to the weight. Fabulous vehicle though-I hope that in a few years time we will see micro cars like this everywhere because they make so much sense in so many ways.
Nissan bought the Twizzy from Renault and SF got this abomination of a micro scooter. Pdx is getting a second try of electric sidewalk scooters that have already caused dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries.SF was smart enough to ban electric sidewalk scooters.

Good promotional video. I love the streets of San Francisco. However, Mike Waltman, (VP of Fleet, Scoot), pushes DOWN on the driver's shoulder harness to display the access to the rear seat. WRONG! He should have lifted UP and FORWARD on the driver's safety harness to display the easy access to the rear seat. Regardless, the absence of side-windows was/is a serious detriment to the "QUAD SCOOT"'s marketability. Warm air de-mist to the windshield would also be an asset on those misty and damp January San Francisco mornings...
It is rebadged Renault Twizzy due to Nissan Renault alliance and Renault not beeing present in the US. It come also with full closed door (extra cost) and you have a range of power you can have, i believe between 4KW/33Nm up to 13KW/57Nm, which is "beefy" for a 475Kg quad. Autonomy is around 100Km, and in EU price starts at 6750EUR incl taxes, plus to cost of monthly battery rental.
Looks like it could be a winner if the price is reasonable. And the technical specks good enough. New Lithium Carbon dioxide batteries have 7 times the range of regular lithium ion batteries and can go 500 charging cycles (up from 100). Reminds me of the smart 4/2 electric, and the chevrolet spark electric.
I don't get these car manufactures. This car and the twiggy are pretty cool looking but why make them without the full doors?. Stupid designers. Its like they don't want to sell them. How many of those small petrol cars we see in the hands of old folks?. Thousands that could buy one of these but they don't have doors. Stupid designers.

"Squish results" ?.. Same as any motorcycle or moto-scooter...or ANY bicycle for that matter. In fact, the occupant(s) of a "SCOOT" would survive most road crashes better than ANY motorcycle.
Look how close the drivers seat belt is to the passengers face? Wonder what would happen in an accident? Still the concept is great, I love that it is electric.
