Well.. it disappeared without a trace.. I was really hoping for it to materialise.
When I first saw this concept years back, I didn’t see its significance. But fast forward today, with ever increasing traffic on our roads, high fuel prices , carbon emissions concerns and the future of electric vehicles, I think this is an award winning concept which was way ahead of it’s time. I
Well it's 2020 now what happened to this? I so wanted one!!

Big oil companies will never allow eco proyects to take over their bussines. They are like Monsanto for agriculture.
So he has spent more then 10 years working on this but it's not for sale yet? That's more like a hobby rather then a business concept. I hope it wasn't using grants and tax payers money to find his hobby.

@@gigelportofel8988 I found it interesting. I just can't justify that price. As for insurance. I would imagine a bit pricey too. At least until they see collision/accident rate during the first dive year are so. ( Just my thought)

More revenue now, lower cost later. Equalling to more affordable sales. More money in total. Well...that's my hope anyway. Dreaming makes me smile. Window shopping is doable for now.
I would buy 1. instead buying a car but using it alone everyday to work, i rather buy this even though it is more expensive than normal motorcycle. At least it is cheaper than a car n look safer than a motorcycle.

Put a 60 hp engine. With those Gyros and Aircon, it sound attractive and more fun. Save my back in plucking those 250 -300 kg bikle. Electric technology is quite disappointing. It needs to go 500 km or make the wheel charge up the battery constantly.
But now electric bike is too expensive and the range too short for me.

Will probably never make it to the market. In development for 10 years but never offered. Insurance may be high for something new. Must be charged to use for short distances. It's like many ideas in popular mechanics. Just puctures and videos. No investors in ten years. Reminds me of the Aptera.

The E-1 is a car I had as my desktop picture about 20 years ago.
It's a fantastic design, the driver sits in the middle and it has two outside seats slight behind. This means of course that the drive is right in the middle of the car, so it's very safe - in theory.
However, BMW showed the concept off at the 1991 Frankfurt auto show, but it was never mass produced. Their i3 concept was supposed to be available now, but, again, it's a no-show.

These guys should join forces with the E-Tracer guys. THe resulting wvehicle would probably be quite cool :)
The car and gyros are "on" during the alley test drives. Those guys are not keeping it from tipping. From Forbes, Dec. 2012: "On a test run in an alley across from the office, the vehicle lurches forward to a slow trot as engineers nervously walk alongside it in case the gyroscopes fail and the cycle tips. Attempting to hit street speeds, and even turning, seems a bit too risky at this point..."

yes it is expensive. howevr when years later down the road when other brand names make something simular to this the price will drop. Like for example I remmber the time Blu-Ray Players cost 2000.00 when it first come out now you can get one 120.00

A simple enclosed motorcycle with a small 125 -800 cc engine/electric option using a Piaggio MP3 or Yamaha Tricity parallel type tilt front end of forged aluminum ,a simple aluminum bonded,bolted truss frame.Single seat with storage/jump seat.The narrow Yamaha /MP3 type tilt front end can be enclosed in a very narrow body,a electric,hydraulic landing gear with omni wheels could be used to lift the vehicle in a fall and to keep it upright when parked[streamlined motorcycles[narrow bodies] tend to get blown over when parked,so landing gear would keep it stable for both service and parking.my version saves at least 10,000 dollars in costs and eliminates the gyros high cost and 0 defect,with gyros controlling the lean you might loose some of the low speed handling.I believe this could be built for 15,000 dollars

At times this guy talks like his mouth is full of thick oatmeal. She asks, "What do gyroscopes do? etc. At about 0:34 he answers that question by saying.... "When I was 25 I was building two %&#@&#^* %*&#@% tandem production anna.... one of 'em ALMOST FELL ON ME.... and killed me." :- O You'd think... (if this is a video to help sales), they'd get someone that can talk clearly. I'm NOT making fun I'm just saying I wish I could understand everything he says.

compared to a car it is. also pretty sure my wing can't do it in 6 either. what got my attention is 2 seater plus 120mph (meaning it will do 60 all day) 220mile range and the biggy. $24k price tag. thats VERY close to reasonable. I WANT this thing. and I want it bad.

I want it as a diesel off road capable dual motor phev with at least 189km electric range even in mínusz 10 Celsius degrees. Is it possible if you make it 30cm longer and built the frame over the wheels too? I would like it to be much higher though to have an upper tent sleeping are for one and a lower one for a nother person with folding seats. I want to travel inside 2 average size human, a big 90kg dog, a small 7kg dog, 2 big electric unicycles with 2 basket of protection gears, 2 45 liter camera backpacks, 2 22 liter backpack and 2 40 liter grocery bags. That's all I'm asking for and with 30cm more length , it would be 315cm long, and with that it could just fit in 9 feet long motorcycles parking spaces with 40cm allowed overhang included. It could be though 100 110 or either 120cm wide all along, what you see is possible and efficient for going still onwards between the lanes, and want it like Audi etron camera mirrors, in Europe it's allowed, but a better one that can adjust how much it sticks ot from 20 centimeters to 4cm. Also I want it from sport high quality steering wheels and heated cooled perforated fák leather seats with heated cooled steering wheel, at least heated big 2 screens or 3 for it but at least one big, prob in this situation, it would be the best 2 use one big high quality OLED miniled high refresh rate QHD or higher res screen. With 10 bit colour depth, and it could use koenighsegg ultralight 335hp electric motors. And with carbon fiber exoskeleton body it could be wrapped exactly for the customers liking and still look good and save a huge amount of weight for everything else, oh , and it could be cool if it could be under 670kgs.
I always spook about this Idea! Now can change reality! I'd like use it.
This machine is so beutifull but when is it possible to buy this C1 in Germany? Actually I drive a motorbike from Zero Motorcycle. But in future I would change to Lit C1 hopefully.

so why do you think I want them to join forces? The e-tracer would be awesome with this gyro tech that lit has made, and the lit would look much better than now. Its a win win situation!
A good concept. But riding a motor cycle requires skill and balance judgements etc. that are surely the enjoyment of riding a bike. As for the enclosed canopy...??!! buy a car.

I'm sick of seeing BS "Prototype" videos from theses people. I've come to the conclusion that these people have milked tens of thousands of dollars from perspective buyers and investors but in the end there will be no production run. I reached out to them in hopes of visiting their corporate offices or show room to hopefully view something tangible, all I received was one of these old prototype videos that as I recall was more than ten years old. For those holding your breath, breathe as you're not likely to ever see a production run off this vehicle, hopefully in wrong.

lean angle would be 0° and I guess unstable at curves unless they make it significantly lower. if you include all you need to make the body sway while the 2-wheeled axle stays parallel to the ground (carver style), then the gyros are probably lighter and cheaper, but I might be wrong.
Toyota I-Road has all the Features and is 100% convincingly safe, no tension of gyro-malfunction.
You right they been trying to sale this for the last... For that price you can buy a new car. It will be sitting there long time just like its been doing making no money. When they cut the price and i mean Waaaay down lots of people will buy
I've heard the exact same thing being said again and again, and yet - at least in Europe - we have quite a few different eco-friendly-car manufacturers. they're not big household names of course, most are on-demand custom producers but their products reach those who want them none the less.
who says the only way to become big is to start big? plenty of products had to spend years to break the market before they became really popular.

On my own opinion those gyro are just waste of money and weight. Just make it a 3 wheeler sir to cut cost. Keep it simple sir. Use slim tires.

you need to think about demographics - what sort of people you're trying to attract, who do you think your consumer is? do you REALLY want to attract horny guys who want to drive red light-cycles? they WILL be reckless in their driving and they WILL screw up safety statistics for you.
honestly, i think their design choice is very smart. very smart indeed. why make life hard for an up-and-coming company? if too many people die in your car you'll be fucked. so they aim at women and hipsters.
Why to lean narrow vehicle is not a question.
Other part is not convincing: carver's three wheels &their suspension take basically the same load as two wheels of C-1, so both chassis are comparable by weight.
But look at gyroscopes: they are kinetic bombs of 5000 RPM of about 25-30 liters, of 20-40 kg, with sophisticated (reliable?) robotics, not to mention a need to accelerate them &keep their spin (vacuum &bearings maintenance is a challenge too).
It looks silly over-engineering to me.
The creator compared it to a scooter, media just keeps saying motorcycle because he's made references to the fact that there hasnt been any advances in ways to make motorcycles safer despite the fact that there has been a ton of advances in car safety.

i honestly don't get what's so "boring" about this design. average maybe, but not boring. it's friggin' city car. it's not supposed to look like a racing vehicle because that's not the demographics they are aiming for. don't forget - majority of customers will be single women, not horny teenagers.
