When I first saw this concept years back, I didn’t see its significance. But fast forward today, with ever increasing traffic on our roads, high fuel prices , carbon emissions concerns and the future of electric vehicles, I think this is an award winning concept which was way ahead of it’s time. I

The E-1 is a car I had as my desktop picture about 20 years ago. It's a fantastic design, the driver sits in the middle and it has two outside seats slight behind. This means of course that the drive is right in the middle of the car, so it's very safe - in theory. However, BMW showed the concept off at the 1991 Frankfurt auto show, but it was never mass produced. Their i3 concept was supposed to be available now, but, again, it's a no-show.
I was searching for a Yamaha motorcycle made in the 1990s with an enclosed capsule and wings with wheels under them, and then I found this. What an upgrade. I want one!
Una pregunta, cuando sea necesario, y la moto lo requiera. QUIEN LA PODRÁ REPARAR? tienen cursos para reparar, a futuro? O que conocimientos serán necesarios, aparte de mecánica? De antemano GRACIAS.
lean angle would be 0° and I guess unstable at curves unless they make it significantly lower. if you include all you need to make the body sway while the 2-wheeled axle stays parallel to the ground (carver style), then the gyros are probably lighter and cheaper, but I might be wrong.
The car and gyros are "on" during the alley test drives. Those guys are not keeping it from tipping. From Forbes, Dec. 2012: "On a test run in an alley across from the office, the vehicle lurches forward to a slow trot as engineers nervously walk alongside it in case the gyroscopes fail and the cycle tips. Attempting to hit street speeds, and even turning, seems a bit too risky at this point..."
A simple enclosed motorcycle with a small 125 -800 cc engine/electric option using a Piaggio MP3 or Yamaha Tricity parallel type tilt front end of forged aluminum ,a simple aluminum bonded, bolted truss frame.Single seat with storage/jump seat. The narrow Yamaha /MP3 type tilt front end can be enclosed in a very narrow body,a electric, hydraulic landing gear with omni wheels could be used to lift the vehicle in a fall and to keep it upright when parked[streamlined motorcycles[narrow bodies] tend to get blown over when parked,so landing gear would keep it stable for both service and parking.my version saves at least 10,000 dollars in costs and eliminates the gyros high cost and 0 defect, with gyros controlling the lean you might loose some of the low speed handling.I believe this could be built for 15,000 dollars
This is an awesome machine. The practical intentions are well thought unlike most inventions that are futuristic but can only be supported by passion and less practicality.
compared to a car it is. also pretty sure my wing can't do it in 6 either. what got my attention is 2 seater plus 120mph (meaning it will do 60 all day) 220mile range and the biggy. $24k price tag. thats VERY close to reasonable. I WANT this thing. and I want it bad.
so why do you think I want them to join forces? The e-tracer would be awesome with this gyro tech that lit has made, and the lit would look much better than now. Its a win win situation!
you are right, i mixed it up. i meant the i-series. but i looked it up, neither the i-3 nor the i-8 is yet available for sale. as bmw did quite a large campaign on this some time ago (maybe 6-8 months), i believed they made it into a purchaseable series already. too bad.... maybe daimler benz is catching up on them and brings one to the market first, as i know for fact they have something in development as well.
I hope further on in the future, they make a model that has a more sporty or aggressive look to it. I know they are not even done with the prototype yet, but I am just thinking.
yes it is expensive. howevr when years later down the road when other brand names make something simular to this the price will drop. Like for example I remmber the time Blu-Ray Players cost 2000.00 when it first come out now you can get one 120.00
I'm all for this design. Saw it years ago in the similar "Carver" and I do like it a lot. I look forward to these finally hitting the market...but I have to say, this is not the first "promo" video for a vehicle of this kind, and I haven't seen one ever come to market. Also, I think having 4 guys walk next to it to keep it from tipping over is an epic fail for a promotional video. Doesn't exactly instill confidence in the design.
@@gigelportofel8988 I found it interesting. I just can't justify that price. As for insurance. I would imagine a bit pricey too. At least until they see collision/accident rate during the first dive year are so. ( Just my thought)
@@SiiaAne good points there! I must admit, it is interesting. I like riding and i imagine this would be good as i go up in age. I would like to try it.
@@kaischmelzle547If you get the chance to buy one, please swing by so this broke old lady can get a close up look. 🤗 The more people that show interest/do buy in/at asking price now is great. 5:40 those guys are holding the motorcycle so as to not lean out too much. I thought it did that by itself? This is 2021 and this is the first time I see this.

Well.. it disappeared without a trace.. I was really hoping for it to materialise.
Well it's 2020 now what happened to this? I so wanted one!!
Is the project dead? Someone wrote on wikipedia that the project is dead. I hope not.
They went into legal issues:
