The first time i witnessed mikel's ball holding and progressing quality was in the FA cup final against united when he contributed to Didier's goal. His qualities shone against top midfielders like paul scholes, micheal carick and co in that game. Chelsea went on to win that trophy.Mikel then went on to register further stellar performances in other major finals for chelsea like UCL and EUL. He also won AFCON for Nigeria. I do not only see him as a legend of chelsea, but also of football. Players like jackson need to shut and learn when their legends talk

Wow. I'm Nigerian and I only began watching football in 2014. Now I'm a Manchester United fan, so I paid little attention to Chelsea's games and besides, Mikel was almost always on the bench so I remained oblivious to his abilities. I actually first got a glimpse of his true talent during a game he played for our country Nigeria during a World Cup qualifying match against Cameroon all the way in 2017. He was absolutely amazing and he played offensively unlike the defensive midfield roles he was made to play in Chelsea. And that's when I realized what a talent he really was and that Chelsea just never really gave him the chance to show it to the world
