- Walmart has this really cool Home Theater Projector for only $50. I decide to buy and test out this RCA RPJ136 home theater projector for my home. I have been doing a series of home remodeling and this projector fit perfectly for the surprise Man Cave that me and my mom were putting together for my dad. ✨ *UPDATE* ✨
Some viewers have been saying they were able to connect their phone to the device. I have not yet attempted to try it because this was a gift for my fathers man cave. We only really use this for the firestick and other connecting game systems like the PlayStation. I don’t have much use of the device, but my father uses it mainly to watch tv and as of now in 2024 it still works perfectly.

The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

got the same one a week ago and cant stop using it had roku hooked up only the 15$ one on sale and then when i hooked my xbox and switch the quality got way better definitely worth it. takes up my entire basement wall

Just a heads up, this is not a 1080p projector. It's "compatible with 1080p video sources" but the actual display resolution is 480p. Worth noting, but it may still look good if you're not picky. And it saves a lot of money to not be picky! Cheers!
Yes the resolution isn’t high, but it’s very budget friendly and the quality is very good for its price. Definitely not 4K but it gets the job done. 👍🏾

just moved into my new home and was going to mount my TV on the wall. but I'm thinking about this projector and just using my TV as a huge monitor in another room. really looking forward to see how this looks in a bright room. thinking I might need to buy blackout curtains.
helpful tip for some of y’all. Personally my biggest issue was finding a way to connect my phone to it and finding the correct cords to make it compatible since I have an iPhone, i spent near $80 on different cords just for it to not work out, I then thought to myself why do I even want to use my phone anyways and be without it all day, all night, however long I’ll be using this projector? So I introduce the ✨Amazon firestick✨
Plugs into it with extreme ease, you’re able to connect WiFi and such things and literally do whatever you were gonna do on your phone🤷🏼♀️

Got it on clearance at Walmart for 29 bucks. So excited for summer movie night in the backyard. Getting a long Aux cable to hook up to a portable speaker system.

I just purchased mines today. I also purchased the ROKU. I plan on hooking it up to my hotspot. Hopefully it works.

1080p compatible, it's native 480p, but this is the same projector i started my theater with too.
Now I have an Epson 3 lcd projector, but yeah , this little projector is a GOOD start. I had my apple tv attached to watch my stuff, I may put this little guy back up in the bedroom with a fire stick.
Yeah the Apple TV is a good idea too. When I upgrade I definitely will get a higher quality. This one’s was kind of a beginner/tester.
hey i hope you remember to measure the wall on camera and distance to the lense. That is the most important part. that equal size of projection, the you look at how well it projects.

I wanna ask, what resolution was your ps4 set to? I have both a ps3 & ps4 wich i wanna be able to play on a bigger display. The tv im using right now is a 42” lcd & the hdmi is busted which is why im asking. I know the projector is supposed to be compatible with 1080p but it outputs in 480p. Is this correct? Will it display my ps3 or 4 if they are set to 1080? Just wanna make sure before doing anything at all
Also i know the quality wont be great but im asiming it would still be better than having a tv with a busted hdmi. Aswell as it might look crispier if i use a dedicated projector screen instead of just the wall.
This would be awesome for video games especially with a steering wheel for racing!!!!!

You don’t need a sound bar, but I highly suggest it because it sounds wayyy better.
I just ordered for $50 with a free screen I will give it a shot. I just want to play some games and watch my firestick..

Actually the best way to keep it portable is to use a tripod that way you can use it outdoors and will always be able to use it indoors and outdoors

Does this thing only have wired connectivity or does it have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
The connection is wifi through another device like a fire stick or game console.
How did you get the display to fill the wall? I can’t get my display bigger without it becoming blurry.
I think I just played with the placement. The farther back the larger space it fills. Then I had to keep playing with the adjustments to get it to focus as best as possible.
What size screen to use at rca projector with

Mine is lopsided. Like one side of the screen is further away from me. No matter how I moved it I can’t fix it. 😢

Not sure If I showed it, but all you have to do is click the power button twice while pointing the remote towards the projector.

It has to stay plugged into an outlet to work.
So I bought this last year and now the light won't work but it's still on . Do you have any suggestions maybe it's the lamp bulb ? I'm not sure please help !
I think it could be the light. Mine is still working, partially because we don’t really use it for daily use. Others did say they had this issue and I believe it may need a bulb replacement.

I want to thank you for making this video.taking the time to go step by step in a quick way because other's just be taking for ever to explain.I am looking to buy one for my living room.I have one in my bedroom that I paid close to $300 but that one stays in my room. If it works it's purpose them I might get a second one for my son's room. I wanted to ask you if it gets hot even though it has a fan and how many hours do you use it for on a daily basis.
This is mainly used for my father's man cave so I'm not quite sure. We have previously used it for some hours without it ever overheating. I haven't experienced any shut off.
These sorts of projectors are fine but 720p native should be the bare minimum...might add another 30 or 40 bucks but the picture will be a huge improvement

I think that’s a great idea!💡 You can send them to your computer to put on a usb drive or one of the sd cards to insert directly to the projector.

You can’t Bluetooth with this model. It has to be connected to a computer or another system.

So i checked it out and there is a timer on the projector. You can set sleep timers and an automatic shut off timer if not in use.

just to let you know i have to same projector and i have a fire tv cube to have sound with the fire stick/cube connect to a Bluetooth device in settings. i just found that out today and I've had this projector since 2018 lol

i have the same projector and i also the fire stick as i plugged it all in it works perfectly fine but there is no sound any advice?
You may have to play with the sound options on the fire stick setting. There some settings that say “best available” and another option. I kept switching to each one to see if sound will play

i got one and i think itsbroken cause when i turn it on, it lights up green and the bulb flashes RCAfor like a split second then turns off, waste of 80$

One HDMI was for the firestick so it was only one end. The other connection went in the projector to the PS4. Not a silly question, hopefully I helped lol 😊

Possible, probably yes, but the quality won’t be fully 4k UHD. It’s only 1080p but 4k movies and videos from Netflix or RUclips will play decent just not super clear like a tv would

It’s not pixelated but it’s also not 4k. It’s decent quality to where you can still play on it and enjoy it.

For $50, of course the volume would be trash, what do you expect? Lol 😂 I’d much rather they cheap out on the speaker than the actual lens & such because I could just hook up either the sound bar or wired headphone (which is what I’m going to be using since I want my privacy). 🤷🏻♂️
