Eagerly anticipating Magic Lantern 5D RAW on this firmware. It sucks that I have to give up a full monitor in exchange for RAW video! Great videos, I've been watching for years but finally got around to subscribing. Thanks!
Thanks for the response. The Ninja 2 is exactly what I am looking for. I really appreciate all your videos. I'm very new to videography, and rely 100% on people like you for my education.
It's not necessarily about noticeable differences in quality. It's about more options in production and in post. With uncompressed HD, you have a lot more play room when color correcting and grading your product in post-production. And in production you have the option of recording directly to a hard drive. I could go on, but I don't have a lot of space in a comment. ;) But that's the gist.
Wow, I did not know that you weren't able to have clean hdmi monitoring on the Mark III! This is such a standard feature for even a blackmagic POCKET cinema camera!
I've heard of one called the Ninja 2, from Atomos. I believe it's available on Amazon. Also AJA makes recorders. And you also have the option of getting a Black Magic Intensity Extreme, and you can record right to a laptop that has thunderbolt. Stick an external hard drive on that laptop and you can record right to the hard drive. So many possibilities!
I was actually rewatching your 3-point lighting video earlier this morning because I want to buy a hair light. Question: Can you make a video, or reply to my comment suggesting 1 or multiple external storage devices that will work with the Mark 3 so I can shoot in 4:2:2. From what I understand, there are external devices that you can record to in 4:2:2, but I don't know where to find one to buy.
I have a question. I am very interested in buying a cam corder for filmmaking purposes but many filmmakers such as you use a dslr preferably to a camcorder. I am confused because i was thinking of the canon hf g10 or hc x920 panasonic camcorders before i read many reviews suggesting a dslr instead. So what are the pros and cons? And does a camcorder come with a better microphone than a dslr? is a dslr able to make good quality videos in the dark just as it takes good quality stills?
Lets say you do record to an external recorder, what will be the noticeable differences to the quality or picture when played back against no uncompressed footage?
Hi! Thanks for the video. Would it be possible for you to record a video comparing All-I compression and external uncompressed recording (ie. Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle 2). If you could do this using CineStyle it'd be great (plus uploading the raw footage). I am sure a lot of cinematographers using 5D MK III would appreciate that. I would. Plus it would open eyes for some:) I am considering buying ext. recorder, because All-I doesn't take grading as good as I wish.Thank you in advance!
I bought a 5 D mark III at Priceminister Simplyelectronics for 5 months. It broke down and they refuse me a waranty. Where can I go for repair it ? Thankyou.
My firmware is on 1.2.3 (checked it again), but still it shows me the left pre-firmware unclean output as shown in 6:42. please help. This is driving me insane :/ Mirroring is also active. I checked everything. I don't understand what is left to do...
@@DiCasaFilm 1.2.3 is also pretty old :D But yeah, I think that was the last time I ever used Canon. They are living in the past, while everybody else is living in the future. Seriously, what's wrong with Canon
@@0oTHEJACKo0 If they removed the capability to record a clean feed via HDMI, they probably did it as planned obsolescence. To incentivize you to purchase a new camera. If that’s true, it’s a shitty move.
I think I was just using a Superclamp. Many different brands make them. Manfrotto, Mathews, Impact. Here's a link to one: bhphotovideo. com/c/product/824360-REG/impact_cc_106r_super_clamp_with_ratchet.html

Great to see this on canon I am a nikon D800 shooter but I think all the dslr should have had this out the box

Thank you for the early quick review, it really helps!

Amazing...arhhh the possibilities!!
Thanks for this video! Is it possible to retrieve this past firmware update for the 5D MK3?
I have no idea, I'm sorry.
yes it is. I did a downgrade to 1.2.3 a year ago. There is a tutorial on youtube for this
Thanks for making this!

Does the audio also mirrors while recording? Like, if I wanted to livestream an event outside an auditorium?
Does audio also get sent over HDMI?
thanks..great video
You have a nice job if you can shoot your personal videos during it...
Ciao, ho lo stesso problema con la mia Canon 7D, pensi che ci sia una soluzione anche per la mia Reflex ?

How did you mount the monitor to the C-Stand? Where can I get the adaptor for that? Thanks!

Hmm. Idk. Maybe they changed it back. You could try seeing if there’s a way to downgrade back to the older firmware…
