The first 10 seconds are actully from a piece titled "Foreboding," also by Richard Hill. I heard those notes in another TV show and had to dig into the origins. Like so many others, I had the Daylight Express VHS shortly after it was released and associate certain songs to this production. Of all train videos that was the best production ever. A narrator, history, epic music, the train crew, the journey, interviews of passengers, and every possible camera angle. As Jim Mitchell said in the video "It was to be the mother of all train shoots."
