With captains chairs you don't need the seat to tumble to get in the back. You go through the middle. The problem with the rear window that doesn't go down is you can't drive with it open.
I saw Tera today for the first time in person. I got to see it in full sunlight and also at night lighted by parking lot lights(it was the same vehicle). In Sunlight it looked really good and had nice gloss. To me it was orange forward with the brownish tones. At night it had a much more brown look to it. Not for me but it’s a good color.
Nice review! Don't lie the rear cargo "solution" and HATE the fact that the TRD does not come with LEATHER!!! Cant wait to see a comparison of the Sequoia TRD Pro the Lexus Overtrail - that is going to be where the rubber hits the road.
11:50 tucking the rear wiper up is not possible with the rear breezer window. I personally don't like the breezer window, it's rarely used and can make noise during the winter when water sip through the seals and froze up.
Please tell me the black headliner is standard on ALL 2024 Sequoia TRD Pro. Mine is coming in soon, I ordered a Midnight Black exterior with the Red interior. The beige headliner was one of the things I was really having a hard time getting over so please tell me it’s coming with the black. This is such great news. It’s just the simple things.
Same....about to order same color combo as you but I have been holding off for 100% decision on the headliner, the beige is a no-no for me....I'd order a 1794 tundra instead if thats the case!
@The5nowman If you need a truck then Tundra, but if that is not needed, I can say that the ride is better in the sequoia rear seat vents were nice on the 1794 but not a deal breaker. Seats for some reason, and this is coming from multiple colleagues/ family, are more comfortable in the Sequoia. It does not bother me that it is not real leather. I may be in the minority on that one. The upper control arms are nice on the Sequoia both visually and performance. Another question.... does size matter to you? The 1794 is massive even with the 5.5ft bed. The Sequoia fits in my garage size is comparable to our GX in terms of length width is a different story. In short, I feel I made a good decision in allocating a 24 TRD PRO SEQUOIA. I apologize for the long-winded response.
It's not my personal color of choice, but it does add spice to the lineup! btw, Did Toyota drop the base low-output TT V6 on the Tundra in the SR Trim? When I priced out my 2023 the Toyotas website states 348hp, when I priced out the 2024 it now lists it as 398hp? was that a error on Toyota or do they now only offer the one standard HP Rating? Thanks!!!
just picked this exact Sequoia up over the weekend, felt like I got the golden ticket. New Sequoias are VERY rare to come by in Hawaii. I went from a Wrangler 4xe to this and I am just beyond stoked. mahalo for the great intro Jon!
I wish that you could option out of the Camo pattern, or upgrade to leather. I also think its nots that a 90K SUV has a manual steering column. Just a couple of nit picks..over all I like them.. but the 3rd row seats. ...what were they thinking?! Good review..
Awesome truck...except for the back. Do you know if Toyota has any plans to get rid of the shelf and design w a simple flat back? Something so a rubber liner can be placed like a typical SUV? It's a nogo for me until they fix this.
yes add $10k mark up + tax fees $100k .... its more 3 row ,luxury ,family school bus , you have to take the sunroof at no charge needs more utilitiy. which what a s.u.v. was at one time
From 1st gen owner: - rear glass: tilting window is technically simpler solution. Less moving mechanisms (which like to rust and broke); no seal on which glass is slidiing and getting scratches. - powertrain - 2UZ-FE is one of the best engine ever, but with this hybrid I will get more power and better MPG. From experience with Toyota hybrids - this is ultimate source of power for a car. - inside is a compromise. I understand designers and engineers how many give-and-take solutions They need to make. Cargo space - yes, it could be better; but when You need to pack in limited space: rear live axle; pack of batteries; 3rd row seats (of course with bells and wistles becase of lazy customers) it is good enough. SInce I don't need to pack bikes inside car, I look at this cargo more indulgently. - rear live axle (no independent suspension) is better for this type of car. So it is pros. But more people would like to complain about cargo shelf. -3rd row comfort: look otherwise from Europe perspective - many minivans have a 3rd row seats. Impossible to comfort use, but it sells as 7 seaters (!). No thanks. 3rd gen spece is enough. - Sequoia never was a competitor to Suburban; it was a little bit larger than Tahoe. Maybe some day I will be able to buy 3rd gen.
I love the new Sequoia, but the new GX looks amazing too. Waiting for pricing on the GX... Oh by the way where do I get that awesome Toyota sweatshirt you are wearing #trdjon
Not gonna lie, the color is ugly as hell. Really glad they finally switched to a black headliner though. Beige headliner always looked super cheap to me and it was even worse with the red interior.
Really wish they'd make the 2nd row fold up like they do now, but make everything behind that area flat and open. Please tell someone in charge to get rid of the 3rd row or at least make it an option. As Ginormous as this thing is, You should be able to lay 4x8 sheets of plywood back there if you wanted to! The rest of the vehicle seems good. BTW, SCREW THE GVMT, BRING BACK THE 5.7L V8! MORE HP!
like it, few soild rear axle's toyota, lexus , bronco 2/4dr , wrangler ,new Ineois ,G wagons offer one , but @$83k to much of a 3 row luxury, family school bus, like to see a more utilitarian model 2 row, for us true off roaders ,car camper, ovelandrs who have no need ,want ,or will ever use a 3rd row , I want payload, packing space and max towing , not sure how to mount a slide out fridge on top of the fold down 3rd row self system
This vehicle is very nice. But inside quality is very very cheap. Specially front seat sides. Crack's after 5k mile. Other sides also cracks will little tension. I am regrading buying this vehicle.
Bought one and love the fck outta it!!!!! Yall crying over space listen if you have more than 2 kids GTFOH stop watching go grab a ford or Chevy that won’t hold shit for value. Ok now space, there is a shelf that folds out and makes your third row flat plus a lower storage area soooooooooo STFU about space if you don’t know shit. Next, MPG still beats Tahoe and expidition so sick on that. Long term value it’s far better than competition. My ONLY COMPLAINT is that it should have a 2 inch or more lift just for better clearance for off roading enthusiasts. Other than that it’s a fckn beast and we absolutely love it!
I like the color...I think that it looks more mature than solar octane on a vehicle like this.
I’ve heard people say that it looks like Solar Octane covered in dust.
With captains chairs you don't need the seat to tumble to get in the back. You go through the middle. The problem with the rear window that doesn't go down is you can't drive with it open.
Why can you not drive with the rear window open? Does an alarm sound off if the window is left open and the vehicle put in drive?
Strech the Sequoia 3 more inches at the rear, and you'll have a comfortable 3rd row seat for head room, and good cargo space!.

Best looking full size SUV.
Dam that 3 rd row is a dealbreaker
Not ideal
So they sell ARB fridges for this, but where does it go? On top of the shelf?
I like the body color and how it comes together with the front bumper. THATS is what is really missing with the TUNDRAS front bumper.!
Yea looks nice separated for sure
That color is awesome!
Love that colour on the sequoia

Similar for sure

What a horrible design choice
It’s way better looking than a Tundra !
$80k plus. Ouch. The rear window not going down bugs me way more than it probably should. 😂

Soooooo beautiful out there
That is super nice but man the ground clearance and bumper approaches, yikes! Just that short clip of you offroad and the front bumper almost hit.

Can you plz review a 2023 Tundra SR with 8 foot bed
Those are so hard to find but I will try
Put that grill on the Tundra.
You think it looks good on the Tundra?
Yes, but they're not listening to us!
@@TRDJon Absolutely.
Test out aux camera trailer.
I showd it in the Tundra 1794 video. But I haven't had the option to be able to hook one up to showcase.
Will the new generation 4runner look slightly similar to this?
I hope not

Is the new black headliner also on the red color interior?
Yes
Thank you sir, this was the only thing stopping me from ordering a 24 !
No a/c in the back?! You should really amend the video noting that there is a/c in the back and you were referring to the seats.
If you got that then everyone else will. I mentioned literally after that there it is 3 Zone climate control.
