As someone who has had Dorney as their home park for 22 years and worked there for 6 years, I can confirm Talon is the best. Still to this day one of the smoothest coasters I’ve ever been on. When I was part of the Talon crew I loved test riding it each day.
i was the 10 millionth rider on talon in 2011! there was a whole celebration and cake and cameras, i gotta find my certificate, i know i have it somewhere lol
As someone who works at dorney I appreciate and love how one of my favorite coaster channels visited my home park cus he wanted to not cus he had to, it’s a nice fun little place. I’m happy Taylor had tons of good thoughts lol. And thank god Taylor said steel force is great *cough airtime thrills cough* 🤣
I just realized how many Cedar Fair coasters have “Steel” in the name. Steel Vengeance, Steel Venom, Steel Force, and probably others I’m not thinking of.
A couple of notes. First Thunderhawk was much more exciting before Cedar Fair took it over. It used to have a single lap bar with no seat dividers, and the lap bar had about 6 inches of clearance which was phenomenal for airtime. also Cedar fair replaced the friction breaks with hydraulic fins and added a break at the top of the second hill which destroys the speed and momentum which you used to experience throughout the rest of the ride. The bunny hops coming back to the station used to be so intense with airtime as the coaster came in about 10 MPH faster up until I believe around 1996. The reason the B&M's are so smooth there, is because the tracks are actually full of sand, which absorbs vibration. this is due to local noise ordinances. Also Hydra's Jojo role was the first of a kind (and you experience it much slower in the front). The inversion was the idea the VP of maintenance Joe Greene when they were planning the ride
Before Magnum, Demon Drop was the “coming of age” ride at Cedar Point. I remember waiting hours, then holding a penny in my palm, to see how much faster we dropped than the penny. Just took my daughter to Cedar Point for the first time, and I missed Demon Drop! Power Tower doesn’t have the same mystique
Love that goofy ass cobra roll on Hydra. Like, what you think Dorney told B&M when designing coaster "we want, no demand, one goofy ass element." 2:09 Dig the Candlebox backing music too. Tidbit: they're one of loudest bands you'll ever hear live if you see them.
I never understood why they sent invertigo (stinger) to Dorney park. They already have Talon and Possessed. I feel like they should have sent it to Valleyfair. Even though they have an inverted shuttle another looping coaster would have been a good addition.
Talon was closed during my visit in 2016 as well. Kinda bummed I missed out on it because it has always intrigued me. It seems to be a “transition” Invert between B&M’s old school and new school designs.
Glad you had a good ride on Talon! I wasn't too impressed when I was on it this year. Montu is still my favorite out of the eight B&M inverts that I've experienced. Hydra is also very much a family coaster. Very relaxing but still fun. My highlights were definitely Steel Force and Possessed. Wish I could have done Demon Drop, but I had a slight back injury and couldn't bring myself to give it a try. :( I hope it's still there on my next visit!
4:06 I misssss the Cliffhanger @ SFOT so much!!! That was one my my favorite rides growing up and was always terrified it was going to fly off the end!
As a person who goes to Dorney often, Talon is actually closed a lot. Mainly when I go to the line, I either don’t go on because it’s closed, or it has a long line.
We liked this park. Water park is nice. Hydra was our favorite. Did this park during our family 100 different coasters in a year. Next week we do 3 parks in 3 days. DelGrossos, Darien Lake and Waldameer.
I really wish more rides had a moment like watching the 1st generation Intiman drop tower car being pushed out to the drop section. Like yeah I know elevator lifts are pretty common-place now but there is just something about that simple ledge that is so amazing
Sorry to hear about the 15 minute wait at the end of Steel Force (my nightmare, BTW). However, the thumbnail and footage of Steel Force taking those bunny hills on the return trip? Beautiful sights to behold.
This is my home park, and I think it’s a good start for my love of rollercoasters. I think that Talon is the best ride in the park (not being bias) because it’s just awesome. Dorney park just needs a new coaster now. I think maybe a RMC Raptor would be perfect here, And that Gravity Group Shuddle Wooden coaster looks like it might be good to. Also, maybe a RMC I box may be good to. And honestly, I don’t think Possessed Will be removed. I think it has a history in the park.
Love how the park is playing an old Candlebox song at 2:07. The Demon Drop seems to have a slow lift, at least compared to The Edge at California's Great America that I used to work on back in the late 80s.
This park was much better than its reputation when we visited the first of June. The coaster lineup is small but they are all pretty good. Nothing great but nothing bad either. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.
Anytime I see that, I just assume it’s someone doing a random blog. Although, it’s funnier when there’s a group of people all with self sticks, all on FaceTime. “Like, really?” 😂
I had the EXACT same experience on steel force Memorial Day weekend. We rode in the back and got nothing, then sat in the 3rd row expecting nothing, and there was some solid airtime! Nothing crazy, but definitely exceeded expectations
Rumor about hydra was there were plans submitted to the township to have a layout more like Hercules where it had a big turn over the lake. Because of noise they nixed that, maybe that’s why it’s so awkward and small.
Talon sounds awesome! I have never gotten the chance to ride an invert as nemesis was shut on my visit to Alton Towers but I am going to Thorpe Park next week so I could get nemesis inferno done then.
Before the station fire, Thunder Hawk had a great start before the lift that made the ride ... I think it was arson that burned down the tunnel! They never rebuilt it, just straight to the lift hill ... bummer!
Last time I rode Possessed when it was under the other name at Geaugua Lake and the holding Brake worked. I don’t think this ride is staying, what good is it if they won’t fix the holding Brake? Best part of that ride. Last time I rode demon Drop when it was new at Cedar Point. A B&M coaster down? No say it ain’t so. That can’t be. Never been on Hydra but I herd that JoJo Roll is unique and odd.
Agree totally on Talon. Frankly I prefer it to Raptor. Yeah I said it. LOL I also really like Steel Force in the back actually. The long train seems to really whip you over the first drop especially. Hydra is bizarre & has pros and cons but kinda meh. And Thunderhawk.......... Um........is a ride... that is in the park.... 😁
I've only seen this park once IRL. I was driving past it on my way home from hersheypark (I came from out of state). I wish I had time to actually stop there
Ive been to allentown many times but didnt stay the extra day to do the park becuase it didnt seem like it offered anything to good. Maybe ill check it out this next time
First time I rode Demon Drop was back in the 90's at Cedar Point. It was the first time I had ever rode anything that dropped me. I came off white as a ghost.
Great vlog Taylor! It's fun to go on Roller Coasters during the summer! It's fun! By the way, I am also returning to Dorney Park this summer too! But in August.
Intamin really iterated on that giant L-shaped drop coaster concept starting with the Demon Drops to Superman/ToT and finally to Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka
I feel a lot more interested in this park after watching this video. I mean I always meant to hit it eventually but I guess I just never really knew that much of what was there outside of Steel Force to be honest.
Dorney Park is a lot smaller than I thought it was. I'm surprised that it only has 7 coasters, and apart from Talon and Steel Force, they don't even look all that good.

Talon is so boring imo. Steel Force is my favorite at the park.
i was the 10 millionth rider on talon in 2011! there was a whole celebration and cake and cameras, i gotta find my certificate, i know i have it somewhere lol
That’s cool
Yo, that’s awesome!
That’s so cool, that must’ve been very surprising lol
Ohhh that’s so cool!!
Doubtful
Considering the lack of lines, going on "almost-rainy" days might be the new strat
always has been
@@chefjed2897 Yep. I've had days like this at Great America and Kentucky Kingdom.
Being able to marathon everything in a park is special.
I went last weekend on a sunny Saturday and there were still no lines lol, I think it's just Dorney
Never rains where I am.
For real. We were there today and the rains didn't come till 5. Everything was a walk on. All day. On a Saturday. 👍

I just realized how many Cedar Fair coasters have “Steel” in the name. Steel Vengeance, Steel Venom, Steel Force, and probably others I’m not thinking of.
In general it looks like many rollercoasters have steel in their name
Steel Eel at Kentucky Kingdom, I think?
Steel is to Cedar Fair as Batman is to Six Flags lolol
@@tyleradam4836 Steel Curtain, Steel Dragon Steel Dolphin, Steel Taipan and probably some more
@@tyleradam4836
First of all: Steel Eel is at Sea World San Antonio
Second of all: Kentucky Kingdom isn't even a cedar fair park
I’m happy to see you at Chickie’s and Pete’s. Literally every time I go to Cedar Point, I get lunch there. The service is always incredible.
Steel force in the back seat while the train is loaded is awesome
I’m pretty happy you got to really experience talon, it’s my favorite ride there too and it’s IMO pretty underrated. Easily one of my favorite inverts
Finally some love for Talon, one of my favorite inverts, even better than Raptor and Banshee in my opinion. Butter smooth and beautifully forceful
About time someone else gives Talon some credit. Definitely a front row ride.
A couple of notes. First Thunderhawk was much more exciting before Cedar Fair took it over. finally some more people giving talon the hype it deservers, imo its like a mini raptor
"The jojo roll is still so bizarre"
nice
Car dio is back
Yay a jo jo reference
Didn’t even pick it up at first lol
Watches coaster vlog. Heard “ Far Behind” by Candlebox and gets distracted. Goes on 90’s music video binge. Returns to vlog an hr later. 🤣❤️
Last time I was at Dorney was in 2018. Talon is the most underrated coaster I have ever ridden and by far the smoothest coaster I've ridden.
Love that goofy ass cobra roll on Hydra. Like, what you think Dorney told B&M when designing coaster "we want, no demand, one goofy ass element." 2:09 Dig the Candlebox backing music too. Tidbit: they're one of loudest bands you'll ever hear live if you see them.

its crazy how many videos you guys put out! between you and the other big 3 coaster vlogs i always have fresh content. Thanks! Great vid as always
Talon was closed during my visit in 2016 as well. Kinda bummed I missed out on it because it has always intrigued me. It seems to be a “transition” Invert between B&M’s old school and new school designs.
Man, hard to believe Talon is already 20 years old!
I was only 6 when it was built, but was too small to ride. But I got big enough a few years after.
Loving these vlogs, especially the mini-ride reviews after each coaster.
Glad you had a good ride on Talon! I wasn't too impressed when I was on it this year. Montu is still my favorite out of the eight B&M inverts that I've experienced. Hydra is also very much a family coaster. Very relaxing but still fun.

You really need to get the year long fast lane for all Cedar Fair parks for you it would be so worth it
Sorry to hear about the 15 minute wait at the end of Steel Force (my nightmare, BTW). However, the thumbnail and footage of Steel Force taking those bunny hills on the return trip? Beautiful sights to behold.
Happy 100 years thunderhawk!! 2nd oldest operating coaster in the world😫❤️

Great adventure is my home park but I always have good memories of dorney, you can't end a day of dorney without it storming on you lol

It's a shame Hercules isn't still around.....rough as hell but the bank at the bottom of the drop hill was epic.
The screams of people in dorney park is what makes me remember it I moved years ago but I still love this park
I’m glad that you liked this park more than Michigan’s Adventure. Dorney Park is small, but I always have a good time when I visit.
4:49 totally family friendly
Did anyone notice every time he would pass by people while talking to his camera, just about every person was staring at him very weirdly🤣👀
Seeing some record themselves, by themselves especially, it invites questions

Yeah "magic seat" on Steel Force is the way to go. I'm a back row hog but Steel Force is one of like, my 2% of coasters I prefer up front
Same magic seat as Magnum.
Chickies and Pete’s is the best so you have now gained my respect
Rumor about hydra was there were plans submitted to the township to have a layout more like Hercules where it had a big turn over the lake. Because of noise they nixed that, maybe that’s why it’s so awkward and small.
We were there today. Last time I rode that style drop tower was that very one, 30 years ago, when it was at Cedar Point. 😆 I'm old
Car 1 row 3 is the magic seat on Steel Force 😂
Talon sounds awesome! I have never gotten the chance to ride an invert as nemesis was shut on my visit to Alton Towers but I am going to Thorpe Park next week so I could get nemesis inferno done then.

You need to got to Conneaut lake park to ride the blue streak before its removed. They have a few very rare flat rides also.
No way blue streak is being removed? That's the only thing that makes the park worth traveling to
Demon drop used to be at Cedar point - same color scheme too. You brought back some good memories.
Last time I rode Possessed when it was under the other name at Geaugua Lake and the holding Brake worked. I don’t think this ride is staying, what good is it if they won’t fix the holding Brake? Best part of that ride.

I dont know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I think Hydra's cobra roll is one of the most aestetically pleasing cobra rolls besides hulk
el toro ryan will love how you said block zone
Talon is my favorite B&M Invert! You need to do a full review of it
Havent been to Dorney in a few years but yeah I loved Demon Drop. Freefall at Great Adventure was always one of my favorites.
Hey, I’m going to sorbet park tomorrow and it is very convenient that you have just posted this. That’s also how o found this video

First time I rode Demon Drop was back in the 90's at Cedar Point. It was the first time I had ever rode anything that dropped me. I came off white as a ghost.
I remember riding demon drop at cedar point like a century ago. Very fun!!
Steel force! My very first roller coaster!
That was my first Hyper coaster!
@@TylerPCoyne my first hyper was the big apple coaster but with the new trains! it was very smooth
Love to see the respect for the old school Intamin drop towers. Used to love going on Stuntman’s Freefall at Great Adventure way back when
I haven't ridden one of those intamin drop towers since the 90s at rocky point Rhode island
all cedar fair parks have an orange red or blue coaster and like every coaster since 2015 has been those colors
I went back last year since 2014 I was very mad that Possessed wasn’t open last year I had an awesome ride on Steel Force last year
The girl saying hi RUclips killed me
The magic seat doesn’t even deliver on magnum so why would it work in steel force? Steel force is most definitely a back row ride in my opinion
You should bring coaster fights back
Great vlog Taylor! It's fun to go on Roller Coasters during the summer! It's fun! By the way, I am also returning to Dorney Park this summer too! But in August.
those Intamin 1st generation drop towers just can’t be beat. RIP Freefall @ Magic Mountain 😪
I love love love Talon being a native PA guy
& being in California , Ican'tpeople haha
great video man as usual.
Intamin really iterated on that giant L-shaped drop coaster concept starting with the Demon Drops to Superman/ToT and finally to Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka
Someone in the background of demon drop said “Hi RUclips!” Lol its so funny
4:48 the Alfundo disrespectful is wiiiiild
Demon Drop is awesome. It’s so loud and scary. It originally came from Cedar Point.
Wow is was an beautiful day of Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, right?
My favorite part of Hydra is the Jojo Roll and the strange Cobra Roll
Demon Drop is literal hell I do love the drop it’s actually scary
First Magnum, then Steel Force. Taylor how?
Nice Vlog! I am also wanting to visit Dorney Park in the not too distant future
Talon was my 100th coaster. Great invert.
I feel a lot more interested in this park after watching this video. I mean I always meant to hit it eventually but I guess I just never really knew that much of what was there outside of Steel Force to be honest.
possessed was actually the ride that got me over my fear of roller coasters
Does anybody know if possessed is currently open? Might go tmrw
Yes
I'm glad Cedar Fair relocated the Intamin first gen drop tower from Cedar Point, because it seems like a great drop tower~ Very unconventional ~~
Wowwww, 1 hour gang!
When is the ValleyFair and Nick Universe vlog
5:27 Coldplay!
Talon is the best coaster at Dorney. Steel Force is 2nd. Hydra has become quite the head banger.
Dorney Park is a lot smaller than I thought it was. I'm surprised that it only has 7 coasters, and apart from Talon and Steel Force, they don't even look all that good.
Will the documentary be on your RUclips channel I asked that because Closed for strom you have to pay for? Huge fan been watching since day 1
Not to hate on coaster credits but isn’t wicked twister and possessed basically the same ride experience so it should count as 1 ride 😂
Lol no? They’re two completely different rides, and they aren’t even compete clones either.
2:37 hydra doesn't have a Mid-Course?
No
No but it has this random slow section of straight track that FEELS like a mid course
Thunderhawk was massive in those pictures
Will u ever do another coaster trivia with your family or takoda? I loved that series :)
is demon drop not a coaster as it fits to all the specifics?
Thunderhawk in the front is amazing like best ride there
came here a few times with my fellow alter servers while shapironed by the nuns growing up many moons ago.
Sup st mary's crew
Full coaster reviews?!?!
This is my home park and I agree with you that Talon is the best coaster there
