1080p in 2021 seems very meh regardless of its refresh rate. Seems the options are 1080p 360hz, 1440p 240hz, and 4k 120hz. I think the balanced choice is 1440p 240hz

Agreed, i switched to a 1440p 240Hz monitor (IPS) I never ever want to go back. Images are sharper, more information on screen etc. etc.
My monitor literately is the virgin walk meme it just leans forward and creeks
1440p is a gimp resolution, its like putting 19' rims on your car instead of 20's. lol. just get a high end 24" 1080p or skip 1440p and jump straight into 4k. i"m so sick of all this sweet spot crap..
@@ronniekregar3482 try not to get so worked up over a revolution... 1080p is laughably blurry for 2021 and 95% of people can't justify paying for the 3080 /6800xt thats realistically necessary for 4k. So yea 1440p is probably the most sensible option.

An interesting ‘case’ study for you to try, split into 3 questions:
1. How much/many 140mm based radiators (e.g. multiple mixes of 420mm and/or 560mm) would you need to be able to passively cool (WITHIN the same case as the components) a top of the range (eg RTX 3090 and AMD 9 5950X or a threadripper) fully water cooled system (at least GPU, CPU) at full over clock, to within 5 degrees of ambient temperature with the fans set to their absolute lowest possible speed, and not really needing to spin at all under normal load?
2. Which off the shelf cases (max spending limit of $1,000 for the case) can fit all those radiators at the same time?
3. If there are no cases which you can buy off the shelf which can fit those radiators at the same time within the system case, which case would you buy off the shelf as a starting point, and can you show us a step by step followable guide to how to mod the case so it CAN fit all those radiators? Try and keep the modifications to methods that people could DIY with only moderate access to power tools.
Can you demonstrate/show us such a system in action, and give us a rough idea of total cost for the case and total cooling system (e.g. presumably if there are loads of radiators, a more powerful pump would be needed)?

so I have an acer. 240hz monitor and have questions.. are you suppose to turn the volume all the way up? or disable it entirely? i leave it enabled just not chosen as device. and turn it up cuz it comes stock at 70%

That way, I can play slower moving games at maximum quality in 4k, yet won't sacrifice performance on the faster moving games when I drop down to 2k.
At the end of the day, the speed of the things you're watching and tracking on screen determine what type of refresh rate you should get.
If you haven't figured it out yet.. you can right click on desktop and change the res and then go to advanced display and change the Hz.

I definitely think 1440p 165Hz at 27 inches is the sweet spot! I’m not a fan of smaller monitors

LOL I feel you but I did get a 3080 a few months ago. If you have a microcenter around you that is your best bet. They get a few in every week and most often do have 6700 xt in stock. Thats really not a bad card at all.

24" is perfect for e-sports. Cuz on 27" in some situations while you move your eyes on minimap in corner of the screen and then back to center, you'll be already dead.
can’t you just edit your field of view in the settings of a game to fix that?
@@HUSTLER1346 It's not ingame FOV problem it's a problem with your human FOV. You can move your monitor further. But pro players prefer 24" cuz it's still big, but it fits your field of perception better than 27".
