@@xyoungyx Yes, the "full" read time about 45 mins. But the write time was only around 10 mins. It looks like they have added a "Fast write" checkbox in the software since your video? So I went for that option. I bridged the starter wire on the EWS module earlier last year when I first started having trouble as the relay went inside it. Last month would start at all, wouldn't let me resync with DME. This was the best solution
@@AidanMacRae next one will be 184 into e36 then my 204 back into my own compact where the 184 come from ive sold my 184 to a mate.im fitting it and i have went 204 so going to document all of that in 2 separate videos more for the 36 lads

@@AidanMacRae i know that feeling 😂 well the 184 was good.eye opener vs the 2.5tds it had before the m57 i beat a lambo on the slip road onto a motorway 😂 couldn’t believe it-from 0 to 110mph its hard to beat.was one like 240bhp and 5/600bm then i drove my mates 204 36 compact we built with 284 and 690nm wiiiild 😂 the 204 is best to start with extra power and extra gear and as it come out a 46 itl drop straight in to a 36 on its own mounts ect if u wer to go 335d the box is different-wide bell housing and the e90 mounts are different because that chassis had a different subframe so it would need more work to fit a 335d the wiring would be same as 204 46 or very similar a stock ish 204 with breathing mods will do about 300 on a safe map thats plenty in a 36 its the nm we are after in a diesel

Awesome, how do you route the fuel lines from tank? I’m thinking in how to still use the two banks of the fuel cell with the electric fuel pump from m57, e36 has a weird mechanism to transfer fuel from one side to another of the fuel cell, I’m worry of that won’t work well after install the m57 electric pump
@@HugoSantos-ju2xg e46 has the same i used the full lines and in line pump from 46 so we have tds in tank 46 in line and when it returns to the non pump side of the tank it make the fuel self siphon itself to keep the tank level it works itself nothing to worry about there only way it wouldn’t work would be if u ran an engine that has no return line very un common in this day n age mate carbs 😂 we well past that 😂
you need the key-ews box-antenna from the barrel then it has a switched live.constant live and an earth 2 wires from antenna and 1 to speak to ecu to say key and box match-permission to start kinda thing.u can google ews 3 pin out to get the exact pin numbers.i done this on my 1st swap
thats a job for someone else later but you can get it running seems to be not much information on this online and anything that u can use to tune is a fortune best just paying for that part but do ews delete yourself as most of them mappers cant even do it they use an emulator and because it has an emulator you cant read or write map because the emulator is in the way would need emulator took off the board inside to play with map greif lol

Hi, James. Is it possible to do this procedure with just the ECU on a bench, not connected to the engine loom? I'd be trying it with a dde4 box from a 2002 e46. I assume I'll only need 12v feed and an ign wire to do this? Cheers.
Hi m8 Many thanks for the tutorial , but i when in try to flash the DDE With patch immo , the soft asked me to turn off the car for 15 sec ? Do i need to have the ignition off or on during the whole procedure ? Many thanks
it has to be on or the software wont find ecu read map with key on as u save the map it asks you to key off for 15 seconds then key on find ecu read full file and save key off 15 again then key on and go to write pick the full file u just saved click patch ews and write full file let it write then when it says key off key off for 15 then test it starts its very straight forward i thought the video was clear enough obviously not 😂

They don’t do minis by obd so I need a bench reader and writer so going to prove very expensive

Do you think its a good idea after deleting ews to hardwire it instead of using a fuse on EWS cables for starter motor?
makes no odds to be fair.the fuse can handle the cranking power no problem.i have cars out there done 3 years ago and still not popped a fuse
