- ews 3 is factory immobiliser on bmw e39 e46 e53 and range rover that has bmw m57.in this video i show how you can wire this up for an engine swap if you-1 cant get someone to delete this on ecu for you or
2 want the security of someone not stealing your car

To diagnose you need kbus. Pin 13 is kbus so at least you connect ike it wont work. EWS could be dianosed standalone by changing obd.ini on EDIABAS folder by including the line
MODE=KBUS
Pin 13 is not the regular Kline (TxD) it work with the master module that connects all slaves to the bus so signals datagrams should be translated by the master module (ike on e46) or emulate a “translator” is also a choice
my 1st m57 swap i wired it up with just power/earth-antenna and ews wire to ecu
no obd wire to ews box and ran it for a year no problems.key was tucked away in ecu compartment with ews ect all taped up around ecu
now i do ews delete
but just thought i would share this for others in other countries and remote places that didn’t have tuners or access to laptops ect
Hello James, I have an e46 330d 184hp, I wanted to put a 218hp engine in it. I have a CAS key and control unit, is it possible? Or would it be better to have the immobilizer removed from the ECU?

i don’t know much about the cas.doesn’t seem easy to wire up like any other ews.delete it and forget it mate
also you need wiring changes
184 is 5 plug ecu.204-218 ect all 2 plug but its all works if u take ur time and swap wires around
@@xyoungyxhi matey, I’m currently doing a swap from the m47 manual to a m57tue 218bhp from an auto but I’m making it manual and I can’t get it turning over for the life of me, I’ve tried tripping the EWS to thinking it’s in park but still no joy, if you could give me any tips please do, and I’ve also been looking for an ECU pin-diagram but I can’t find them anywhere. PLEASE HELP! 😂
@@jasonhicks3181 in what chassis mate? it doesn’t matter about new engine being auto.its the shell that needs stuff done if shell was current auto
