This engine would actually work if they used supercritical CO2 and the brayton cycle. otherwise power output is way too low.

These people just jump from one thing to another without actually seeing anything, firstly EVs are currently powering essential innovation and secondly having one dominant solution applied world wide is extremely unhealth...

Regenerative braking, an alternator type battery, and or friction heat powered uv panel design etc, should be able to restore the compressed air without charging station stops. A removable, chargeable electric air pump is additional option. Furthermore, if an oxygen air cannister is explosion risk, should be possible to modify compressed air tank with 50lbs battery to safely run a regular combustion engine any way. With no liquid fuel emissions tho

You have to get the energy from an energy source. Solar panel can only produce 250-300 w per square meter. You need much more than you can fit on the roof of a car.

@@beehappy7797 No, because heat from tire friction can light up LED lights, which can feed panel in car design. Modifying panel to use infrared spectrum can use friction heat directly, too. Friction heat source is hydraulics/ braking. It's about energy recovery, and the inertia physics is the energy source in such designs. Alternator is classic example of energy recovery already.

So an air engine is a gasoline engine that instead of dynamic braking like a battery hybrid it uses cylinders to compress air that can then assist on acceleration. Problem is gas engines are 14% efficient and is still the only power source in the vehicle. This lie is in competition with Toyota. Pie in the sky at best.
