This actually scares me, the thought of me meeting another me with what ever deformity and it mentally attacking me, whether it being terrifying screeching or just literally saying the worst type of things to you, only you yourself could imagine and it probably knows what will hit you the hardest, this gives me goose bumps...

The lore for this was that Mark had killed himself. When the THINK principle mentioned that there was not enough room for the two of us, it meant that Mark's alternate had followed him home. Soon after, when it said"NOBODY CAME FOR ME", and soon after, it mentions that you should not help somebody report an alternate encounter, and no matter how frantic their screams are, that is why nobody came for Mark.

I really feel like the tape was made by alternates.
I know it's been a month, but you misunderstood what happened.
Mark said he didn't want to open the door, but it had been days since he was left in that room, with no food or water.
So then, he opens the door and attempts to kill the alternate, like how the broadcast said.
If you rewatch this part of the video, you can hear the sound of the door creaking and the alternate's laugh.
Mark shoots the alternate, but since alternates exist in different spectrums, it didn't have any effect.
The alternate then says "uh oh! bad decision mark!", and Mark is killed.
Nobody came to help Mark.

Ryan isn’t the only one who was scared of dogs attacking. In the house that we lived in when I was younger, I had to go downstairs and turn the light off in the laundry room. The laundry room’s light is close to the back wall, so I would have walk through the dark to go back upstairs. Constantly, I thought a pack of dogs were going to come from behind me and bite up my backside.

I remember when I was a kid (like, 5 years old) and Temple Run was blowing up in popularity, I had nightmares almost every day for like 3 months that some black dogs with the temple run monkey's faces chased me from the entrance of the apartment I lived in all the way to my house, I lived in an apartment at the 4th floor with no elevator, so I had to run all of that in my dream and shut the door in their face. I was initially terrified of it, but it ended up becoming kind of a fun game because I was never caught so after a while I just mocked them in my nightmare instead of being scared lol

I own dogs for years but the fear of dogs biting is strong.
Fair. My dad told me a story once, where he was bit and dragged by the leg by some big dog across his backyard. (can't remember the breed) He still has scars everywhere, running up and down his leg. I hear from my mom that he also still freezes a little seeing that specific dog breed.
Mandela Catalogue gets its uneasiness from what we call "The Uncanny Valley Effect."
What this is essentially is that we have a natural fear of things that look human but have characteristics that aren't, such as unusually long limbs or enormous eyes. It messes with our Safety-In-Numbers instinct and our ability to distinguish friend from foe. We aren't able to tell if it would kill us the moment it saw us, nor can we tell if we can effectively defend ourselves from it, and this scares the absolute _shit_ out of us.

It's just called "The Uncanny Valley", no effect at the end. Also, I've heard that the uncanny valley is because in the far far past humans had to distinguish themselves from Neanderthals.
If it has unusually long limbs or big eyes basically anything then we should just fucking shoot it we didn't become the top of the food chain by being cowards
This would probably also explain why people with burn injuries or war injuries are so disturbing (visually) to the rest of us, even if they're the kindest souls on earth, their physical appearance causes fear.

So uhhh, I found out something very cursed but very hilarious.
At 8:13, the face shown in place of Cesar looks a bit like the "when the imposter is sus" meme.
Well, with a bit of editing work, I found that not only does it look a lot like it, but I'm pretty sure it's the same image. It's edited to look slightly different, but it looks similar enough to say it's the same image.
EDIT: I just found out that that Alex Kister (the creator) said that the image actually *ISN'T* thee Jerma face, and is actually just Cesar's face put through some face morpher a couple times.

I actually disagree that this is what the tape wants you to do. My theory is this another one of those "alternate tamperings" and it's doing this to make it easier for it to kill off whoever it's trying to take the place of. It makes the threat of "revealing your fear" to further convince people not to go; it's an example of their psychological warfare.
They can tamper with televisions. It would be better to use audio only recordings on cassette tapes. These enemies...these so called "Alternates"... Have any been slain yet? If we could kill one, cut them up and study them. What would we find?
@@zacharymabb4873 From what we have so far, any kind of physical harm is useless to these alternates. As seen when Mark tried to shoot one, it didn't work.
My theory is that since these Alternates "exist on different plains/spectrums" it can be theorized that they can only exist when they are attacking their prey. If you think about it, they can be invisible until their next target. But what if two people were present in an encounter, how would a scenario like that go.
In conclusion, it could be all in their head and only the prey can see them

Actually, I think there's someone who looks like me living fairly close, because more than once I've encountered people who recognized me, and told me about things they were told by "me", but I've never met these people before and I've never told, or experienced, anything they said.

i had the same thing a few years ago in school. one of my friends showed me a pic of someone with the same hair and stature and clothes as me in the same town and was convinced it was me. i never saw that person in my town but now im spooked lol
You guys should make a nostalgic series where you go back and revisit older games in the play style that you used to play in 2015-19
When the tape about the alternate encounter played saying that the operator should not help with an encounter, i think that alternates are able to not only control minds, but videos too. Therefore, an alternate may have tampered with the video to say that they should not help. It also explains the glitch when the narrator said hospital and the tape stuck.

Now I remember where I heard that voice! It's a text to speech voice that they used to voice perceptor in Transformers animated
You know what I think you might be right for saying Mark was the doppelganger all along that killed his own mom. Which gives a really different perspective to the story about 4 year old Mark being spooked by and stalked by a doppelgenger in his house that his 4 year old self probably saw as a usual monster in his closet type deal. But that's also interesting because that means Mark's doppelganger case is the first case of a doppelganger in this series actually killing a minor and taking their form. Because the story with the lady's baby being kidnaped by the intruder on the TV seemed to suggest the other doppelgangers and intruders only made kids vanish.
I wonder if we might get more elaboration on that plot thread in future videos for the series. Why Mark encountering a doppelganger resulted in his kid self being killed and bodysnatched the way most adults were instead of facing the vanishing fate other kids were facing. I'd definitely like to know more about why Mark's family's case seems to have a lot of oddities going on compared to what this race usually does in order to lure humans into becoming their new meat suits.

In that case, that person is invincible to the alternate. Those are the type of people that can take on one themselves. After all, alternates thrive on fear. Take that away from them and you got a vulnerable imposter that you can shoot at.

The way I found this video is weird. I have two monitors, one with RUclips and discord on it, and the other with the games I play as well as my homescreen on it. When I was closing everything before I turned my pc off, I closed Microsoft Edge (that's what I use on my pc) and there was a link to this video titled "watch". I presume my mum or dad put it on their to freak me out, but I haven't confronted them.
