Oh my god, this was so terrifying, but seeing the credits saying “special thanks to the analog horror community for your support” and the credits for the voice actors put me at *extreme* ease. That was so relieving.

I'm glad horror games and stories are starting to turn away from the cheap loud sound to cause scares and instead cause psychological dread and fear in someone despite nothing actually happening in things like these. This is an excellent concept that definitely deserves a game at the very least, and a movie and the very most.
Same jumpscares are cheap scares, they’re good for only a couple of seconds of fear but these kinds of psychological scares really keep you thinking about it for days. THATS the kind of horror I’m excited to see more of.

Doppelganger story, here goes. I was 16 working my first job in the mall. Ppl around my age kept coming up, approaching me by another name. After the fourth or fifth person told me we look exactly alike and asked if we were twins, I knew it had to be true but wasn't too obsessed with it. I just knew it was another dude who looked like me, was the same age, and the high school he went to. One day, I looked across the mall and spotted him. Immediately knew it was him. He was talking to some girls and I can't remember why he approached the counter I was working at, whether I motioned him over or he came on his own, but he approached and the resemblance was uncanny. Like looking at an extremely precise rendering of yourself. It was awkward but we both played cool, saying that we knew each other's names and how so many ppl had told us about each other. We asked questions trying to figure out if there was maybe some relation but nothing added up. It was like looking at yourself, not a twin, a slightly different version of yourself. We had our hair the same length, very long. We dressed basically the same. I felt like I was the dominant, more "confident" of us two, for all I know that's how he felt. It was weird so we pretty much wrapped up the convo and he walked away. Didn't give it much thought or tell anyone after for a long time. The weird thing is I never heard about him or saw him again. I did some searching over the years, but nothing, no online accounts or anything. It's been decades since then and never heard another thing about him. But the craziest part, that hit me later on, my mother would tell me one of those mom stories about when I was born. My birthday coincides with a specific name, and she was gonna name me after it. But near the end of the pregnancy she chose something else. His name was the one she was going to name me. Can't make it up.
He went on to be me, John Cena, and that’s why you can’t see him!

The playing of “Stars and Stripes Forever” in the background at the beginning is so unsettling and haunting to me to be honest, combined with the fact that it almost sounds like it’s played over an old, scratchy record player, and it’s almost like slowed or reversed at some parts? and that they’re also talking about the alternates and what terrifying qualities they possess, idk it just gives me the chills.
I think one of the reasons this works so well is how much empty space it uses in a frame. You’re compelled to look for things in each image, and when you don’t find anything it’s even scarier

But all of the jesus stuff is still cannon, that's what the exibition and all of the religious videos basically set up. Vol 1 and 2 are just showing how it's affecting humanity, and kinda just putting it into effect. Basically 1 and 2 are the story, while the other videos are the lore.

The basement should logically have been the scariest room in the place, since the house had an addition and there were old windows in the basement that just opened into the dark,dirt-filled crawlspace under the addition. But the basement never bothered me. What REALLY bothered me was the outside entry room to the basement which also had the stairs leading to the upper floor. The stairs had no kick plates, just empty space between each step which wasn't illuminated by the low powered bulb dangling from the ceiling. Looking at them always gave me the awful feeling that 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 was crouching there in the darkness behind the stairs. Even as an adult my heart-rate would increase and I would fight the urge to rush up/down the stairs to minimize my exposure.
That sounds absolutely terrifying..

The binary caption that Sean paused on says this,

when translated.
The angel could be talking about himself, saying that he is a “savior,” or maybe he is addressing “God/a higher power.”
Note that, while there are commas in binary, the captions used a period. I don’t know if that means anything, or if it was just written for a dramatic effect of some kind.

I've been to the church shown at 16:52. It's colloquially known as Holy Hill, officially as the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. You can see clear 50 miles to Milwaukee and Lake Michigan, and I think possibly as far as Madison to the West. At night the lights of far off wind farms can be seen blinking in the dark. Perfect location to shoot a church against a perfectly black background like this.

This is genuinely horrific. I hate pictures that are I guess unsettling? Like the black stretched faces and the explanation of the types yknow, I had to hide my screen. My eyes started tearing up and shivering. The narrators voice and the sounds makes me so uncomfortable in a good way. Like I get an type of rush

This is the best fucked up horror series I’ve ever seen. In this alternate universe, you can’t tell what is real and what is fake. And you could even think a disabled person is a threat trying to kill you. And not to mention that they’re always following you. You are following yourself. And fear takes you over so much that in the end, instead of the faceless Doppelgänger thrashing you to death or shooting you, you take your own life because your mind can’t comprehend the fear. Beautifully terrifying. Props to the people who made this.

Mandela catalogue is terrifying, I will admit, but it is one of my favorite fandoms and has amazing lore. It gives off this vibe, like how you said in the video, it gives you shivers and makes you want to jump out of your seat. Jumpscares are not the only terrifying thing, because Mandela catalogue, that’s another level of horror that I am in love with.

This is what I think alternates are just Skinwalkers Skinwalkers mimic people they can shift into them. They can use the same voice of them.

The real life footage part wasn't that impressive for me bc it still felt like the dialogues were not convincing enough but the rest was great - I'm a fan of these types of instructional-like videos about spooky / conspiracy topics (like here, "how to protect yourself from something pretending to be normal" and as example they show you these creepily distorted people) and suddenly there are some creepy glitches appearing too, it's legit very cool, I would love to see more of this kind of stuff in horror games; I used to spend so much time on watching "realistic" found footage type of videos or conspiracy theories.

Perhaps... maybe it is up to interpretation? Though I thought it said "no one came for me" and due to it looking like a suicide, I could see either happening. A suicide, or a murder covered up. To me, since he said he didn't want to see what was on the other side and grew desperate from being stuck for days and losing hope with no one coming to help, he could have done it himself, but he also yelled at it while it laughed, and a gunshot, so he could have tried to kill it and it got him first. I think the murder is most likely. The "nobody came for me" at the end to me feels like he was upset that nobody helped him and he died alone.
i think the most disturbing part of mandela catalogue is how the police are trained to lie to emergency callers. for a brief moment, these victims would've felt some relief at the thought of rescue until they slowly, slowly started to realise that no one was ever going to help them.

There is a real medical condition where something in your brain glitches, your recognition or something, causing you to get a super uncanny feeling seeing a particular loved one (usually). You both recognize them as someone you love, but also see them as a stranger. This causes sufferers to adamantly believe their loved one has been replaced by a clone by some force, usually aliens, and this triggers a fight or flight response. Paranoia and such soon follows and the relationship breaks down. It's actually super sad, and almost always leads to divorces etc. I dont think this is based on that, because that would be kinda messed up, but I am super reminded of that from this. *EDIT:* It's called _"Capgras delusion"_

The best kind of horror: absolutely no jumpscares, just genuinely good storytelling that makes you look over your shoulder every five seconds

Why analogue fear is scary:
Analogue fear mostly use sounds and pictures to make us fear. Most important thing about pictures are they make you feel like they are old. With this way your brain convinces it self it's real and also because pictures aren't very clear it makes you disturbed of the unknown fear. Also pictures we see (alternates faces etc.) Are not natural. As you can see video informs us that alternates can look different than normal humans. This makes us fear since we don't know what to see when we are going to face an alternate. At this point your imagination makes you fear...
Can we talk about how fucked up it is telling someone you're sending help, but you're really not, because there's nothing you can do to save them. If nothing else, that is genuine existential horror.

Psychological horror is honestly the most terrifying form of horror in my opinion. Jump scares are fun here and there but they only scare you once. I’ve watched the Mandela catalogue multiple times and I’m terrified to sleep each and every time. Psychological horror is a slow burn that hits its peak when you feel most vulnerable

I don't even consider jumpscares scary. Those are cheap and use your instinct to "scare" you. Psychological horror it's where its at. When done right shit can make me sleep with lights on for nights
I agree. A couple weeks ago I had the scariest dream in my life like indescribably scary. It started similar to an analog horror vid cause it was a slow burn and started out somewhat wholesome then got bad later on. I want to make it into something similar to this but unfortunately I dont know how

Theory Time:
In the Overthrown Video, Lucifer apparently replaces Gabriel, as we can see no wings the second time.
And in the bible, it's stated that Lucifer is a "fallen angel," or one that has no wings.
However, that doesn't mean Gabriel is dead. Now, he's back, and trying his best to fight off the alternates.
In the second one, we can see that the old lady's house is the same as Mark's house. This could possibly mean that Gabriel has succeeded by keeping them in one house.
However, because of Jonah running away(fun fact, that also happened in the bible), it allowed the Alternates to get away from the house.
