After seeing a brand new update for nuclearcraft I was sold!
First we survive building a new nuclear fission reactor that I personally design
Then deal with the increasing pollution as we attempt to use clean energy
Then a Nuclear bomb strike makes us use our nuclear fission reactor from overhaul
Nuclearcraft Overhaul is main mod in this 100 days challenge
Immersive Engineering is the secondary mod

Lead vests are safe, the problem with lead is when you get tiny little bits of it in your body and it gets absorbed, a vest containing it and it being in one piece is pretty safe.
Until you get hit cutting through the armor and possibly causing you to bleed. Open wounds and bits of lead dust from blocking blows sounds unfortunate.

Leaving a second comment for the captain, here is a fun tip about Mekanism! The Heat Generator can be given anything with a "Burn Time" in a furnace to produce energy, this includes charcoal and coal blocks! The generator requires a specific amount of heat to produce power so by fueling it up you can generate more energy more often. Would have left this on the "Alien Planet Terraforming" video, but I decided not too. Be sure to have fun captain, its what matters the most!
Edit: Ignore the "requiring a specific amount of heat" part, wiki said that each side covered in lava generates 30j/t while having it fueled will generate 200j/t. I was slightly tired and decided to fact check afterward, whoops!

You can press the item change button to use the mekanism tanks like buckets. also for infinite water use the water pump from mekanism or a sink (not in every pack, but you'd be surprised how many have it.
You should make an atomic disassembler instead of a pick it is so much better
I love watching your videos, you should try out tinkers construct. It helps with making stronger tools and weapons and doubles your ores while doing so!
small tip you just need to break the top of the hemp to collect the spoils, breaking it completely wastes a lot of time

Make a video with nuclearcraft in a parasite apocalypse
for the hemp plants you only need to break the top part of the plant, so you don't have to wait for it to grow back all over again
You should play the Minecraft mod plack epolecy runner or something like this it basically lets you simulate the ages of history like the industry revolution or the nuclear age even the space age all tied together with some magic
and once again the captain delivers!
I think applied energistic or similar mods will help a lot with crafting

I like how this playthrough shows that even "clean" energy has problems that we have to deal with.
Recycling nuclear waste is great. But eventually, you end up with even more dangerous waste.
The industrial processes that make clean energy possible have downsides too, like dangerous chemicals that need proper storing and handling. Or unwanted byproducts that need handling
"Clean" energy is only part of the solution, responsible industry is the other part.
You know though in real life the clean energy source like solar panels degrade and depending on the panel need to be replaced every 15 years to get the full effect out of them
In nuclearcraft there is a way to reprocess the waste back into uranium (all of it) wish we had a decay hastener in real life.
Still better than coal
We usually burry it several miles down and in solid rock, there is a Thomas Scott vid on it, really it's quite simple to deal with and it has little consequence when treated with respect.

There's a modpack, called Omnifactory hosted on CurseForge where it is focused on GregTech and the supporting mods are configured to make the grind easier, or so the description says. Anyway, the reason why I'm mentioning this modpack as a suggestion is because I would LOVE to see a GregTech 100 days playthrough because I know that it would be a challenge with the crafting-concentration on the small components that is required to craft the multi-block machinery.... However, if you don't feel like putting together a home-brewed modpack based on GregTech, then try Omnifactory since it's good to go right off the shelf.
Anyway, keep on being awesome and I look forward to seeing more videos!

Did anyone point out the absolutely massive mistake at 2:26:30 where our dear captain thinks the energy storage of 1.4 mil RF is the RF/t rate which is only in the 4k range? If not, someone just did! Just a "minor" difference I know but we're all highly scientific here and whatnot!

Can't you like quintuple ores with mekanism? DEFINITELY even more when combined with other mods. I remember seeing a legendary 16×.
Here's an idea. Why not just use the universal bin for the hydrochloric acid. If you don't need it, just get rid of it. Also, when making that new sword. Why didn't you just use the hydrogen from the eletrolyzer?
A man walks in a barren world. Abandoned cities destroyed by resources a crisis, theres no one, but he holds out hope. Hope that he can be the one to kickstart civilization, bring about enough energy to provide for everyone, but no one arrives. He builds more and more but the doses of radiation he receives poisons his mind and body, any effort he takes to combat it is futile, the cancer has grown too deep, the genetic damage irrepairable. Just one more reactor. Maybe one day someone will find it. Hopefully they have a working suit and a geiger counter, so they know to avoid his folley.
I cringed when you used pipes to EXTRACT from a thermal machine. You could have just placed the chest next to it on a side configured to output (orange) and turned on auto-eject in the furnace UI.

idk if its just me but when i watch people play with modpacks most of the time they try to make their base look good or use special blocks to decorate but i cant bring myself to waste ressources or time to do that so i end up with a cave with all my machine inside (+everything needs to be obtainable within my base cuz i hate going aimlessly too far)
That Decay Hastener had me thinking...potentially, you could dig a long shaft down into the ground, and use a bunch of pipes and cables to send nuclear waste down to the machine and pull the results back up. It'd be inconvenient to dig the hole and install the equipment...but the radiation would be farther away, underneath the rock and stone...

I wonder why it's not possible to block radiation from spreading with blocks, but I guess it's too hard to make that work without completely lagging the game out. Not that it would help seeing as building structures tends to be a second thought for these playthroughs unless it's absolutely necessary.
