In regards to Kraven being immune to Scorpion's venom, you can find that Kraven has gathered the flowers necessary for an antidote in the same room where Peter checks out the grappling crossbow.
It’s weird how the symbiotes are supposedly destroyed by the meteor after you beat Venom but afterwards there are still symbiote nests and symbiote hordes throughout the city that you respond to even after you’ve completed the whole story

Kind of weird that that destroying a rock can kill anything at all. What, was the rock the container of the hive mind of the symbiotes? Who ever said anything about the symbiotes staying in New York for all we know they could have made their way to Texas. Dude tons of games do this. The canon goes back to before the finale so you can finish all the side activities. While Spider-Man 2 plot and writing is definitely not good. That’s not one of the issues
The biggest thing that really got me in this game is Kraven raised hell to get killed, succeeded, which is infuriating, and nobody says anything about it, no rage or anything, it’s like he was instantly gone from everyone’s mind.
Yeah, I was surprised by that. I thought for sure he was gonna be jailed after the Miles vs Peter fight and have to rot in there until he died from his sickness or something with them telling him his quest for a worthy opponent wasn't worth the trouble he caused or something like that. Although the scene of Venom killing him was well shot.
Because it doesn't matter anymore. He's dead, thus no longer a problem and there's a city-wide symbionte invasion. I don't think anybody has the time to care about Kraven with so many new problems showing up.
Not really hard to do since WoS actually took its time when telling the symbiote takeover story. Boggles the mind that they tried to hamfist a whole game's worth of story into the final act.

@@knightmare5097 Thing is, all Sony's version did was skip the hate for Spiderman part. Venom's roots as a villain was really short. And even then, as a villain, he was still leagues better than most of Spidey's rogue gallery as his villainy was mostly towards making life hell for Spidey as some self deluded revenge. But during the times he wasn't going after Spiderman, he was actually playing the Lethal Protector of the innocents albeit for selfish reasons at first (trying to show he was a better hero than Spiderman) but eventually for noble reasons. Hell, there was even a time where Venom broke off from fighting Spiderman to save civilians from being collaterals in their fight, only continuing once he was sure they were safe. So even as a villain, he was more like a dark rival/foil for Spiderman and was nowhere near as vile and evil as this Venom was.
Surprised you didn't give a sin to the fact that a TON of people know the true identities of both Spider-Men. That's something that I found hard to remove disbelief on when I played it.
The number one criticism of the first game was the Mary Jane sections. And yet... the sequel still has them. It's honestly amazing how out of touch with players modern devs are.

Regarding the "World hunger" sin, it's not as simple as "produce more food". You have logistics such as how to distribute the food to people and how to make sure the corrupt warlords and politicians don't hoard it for themselves. ANd in regards to the "Harry having a cane" sin early on, he mentions it's a sort of insurance policy since the full effects of Venom are unknown.
Yeah, I always feel funny when people say just "produce more food", when food waste yearly is just insanely high. We actually made more food than people needed to fed. How to fed them is another problem

Not even "unfinished" or "half eaten" food from restaurants and buffets. But totally edible, untouched, 100% perfectly fine food. Either due to aesthetics and fruit "not looking pretty enough," over-production, or over-strict expiration policies. Especially meat, which is the most expensive food to produce. You can tell someone is ignorant on the topic when they think world hunger is a matter of quantity, and not environment, shipping, location, and storage. This entire game is full of horrendous writing of what extremely stupid people think intelligent people sound like (Dartigan barely scratched the surface and you could probably get a minimum of two hours of bad writing and cutscenes out of this game.) Norman and Octavius' last scene is funny. Anyone who hasn't seen the last game would probably think it's the moment where the Green Goblin and Doc Oc team up against the Spidermen. But that can't be. Oc definitely still hates Norman more, even if Peter stopped him from getting revenge. Also, I can't decide what I want the next video to be on. Alan Wake 2 has something Dart can sink his teeth into, but I really want to see what he can get out of the void that is Starfield.
I'm convinced the whole "no police in New York" thing is due to the "backlash" from Spidey helping them in the previous game. Apparently it's wrong to have a superhero character help the police uphold the law.

I am surprised you didn't sin (with a multiplier) how to create artificial tension MJ doesn't tell Peter that when he sleeps his symbiote goes haywire and attacks people, including her. Nobody ended up telling him that in the entire game, I was keeping track. That conversation with him and Harry would have gone completely different if he was given taht little bit of context, but we can't have mature conversing in the game. There is no reason for her not to tell him that happened (since she could clearly see Peter was still sleeping in the symbiote and can make the moderately easy guess that he did not know what he was doing). No reason besides bad writing, clearly. P.S. A lot of the marketing mentioned how "Venom will be somebody who hasn't been seen as Venom before". Harry has been Venom in multiple comicbooks and even for a bit in TV series (not sure if just in Marvel's Spider-man or it also happened in Ultimate at one point). So that was bull.

It wouldn't have made any difference if MJ had told Peter that. At that point he had been told that the symbiote was an alien and he was ok with keeping it for himself. Before he goes to see Harry (where that conversation with MJ takes place) Peter literally says "I wonder if Harry really needs the suit?" He knows that Harry needs the suit back or he'll die, but he's justifying keeping it for himself. If MJ had told him "Last night, while you were asleep, the symbiote took control of you and nearly killed people" Peter would have just justified that too.
Bit odd that Kraven would choose a bunch of b-tier supervillains who have failed to kill Spiderman many times as well as Spiderman himself who refuses to kill anyone in his shortlist of "people who can kill me" instead of someone like The Punisher, Wolverine, The Incredible Hulk, Deadpool, Taskmaster or anybody else who is a capable fighter with proven success and no qualms about killing people

Funny, we play several Batman games where we end up playing as Nightwing, Catwoman, Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood, Azreal, Joker, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and in short sections, Gordon and a random cop and I don’t recall any complaints.
@@Rclarke115because most were optional or were likely one off sections that lasted no more than 5 minutes (for example in the case of the random cop). Not to mention they either offered the same style of game play (Robin,Nightwing, Harley etc) or were used to add directly to the plot (random cop being used to establish that scarecrow has begun his plan or joker being inside the psyche of Batman showing how he views things) where here we spray paint and do non powered stealth sections.

I will point out that MJ did tell Harry she was at the zoo in NJ so that's how he and Peter knew where to find her. Also, a sin you could add at the end is the fact that Miles just shows up to Peter's house and talks to him without his mask on, while not being worried about being recorded by the neighboring houses' security cameras, CCTV, or passerbys with their phones out.

Mutants are a legitimate threat to society and could easily kill anyone, if they wanted to. But its supposed to be a metaphor for racism, even though it makes no sense. And yeah, more example of bad writing when you live in a world of supervillains, aliens, and gods, and being told owning a gun or investing in self-defense makes you a bad person, as if Spider-Man or Not-Spider-Man Morales can be everywhere in a city of 8 million people and The Avengers apparently aren't a thing in this game. Not that it'd matter, since you'd have like, 100 heroes at most, trying to protect a city of 8 million, but still get told "guns are bad" and you should just let Kingpin and his thugs execute you without even trying to save yourself or loved ones. Another ironic this is, after the Sandman fight those guns shouldn't have worked and would've jammed if not exploded in their hands from all the sand that would've been built up in them. 😅
He's literally fighting a bunch of criminals who are robbing a gun club to arm themselves so they can commit crimes. It's pretty reasonable for him to complain about gun clubs here.
I got a voice acting background and have to say that Yuri Lowenthal's voice has been such an inspiration for me since the Prince of Persia Trilogy. His performance in Spidey 2 is amazing. If you got a second, I highly recommend watching the The Two Thrones cutscenes.The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him and the late Kevin Conroy are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)
I will say the guy is dedicated. I keep thinking he prepared for Spider Man 2 by working on that Dota anime on Netflix. Yuri played a character that was having his body taken over by a dragon voiced by Tony Todd (Venom's VA). The scene where Venom sprouts wings reminds me of that show.
Yuri Lowenthal is a great veteran actor. Yosuke, Ben 10, pretty much half the characters in Fallout New Vegas. His portfolio of characters voiced is huge.
@@chrisdaughen5257 Venom's wings are a direct reference to a Venom comic issue called "King in Black". In fact, a lot of story elements borrow from that story, which makes it unfortunate that they don't credit the creator of that issue in the game.

This game got WAAAAAY too overhyped. It’s a great game. I loved it. But it didn’t really push the envelope. It was pretty much just more of the first game. And Miles story in this was so boring. I love Miles, but you could take him out of this game and not much would change. Even his side missions were worse. I think most games are way too long, but this one was actually way too short. It felt so rushed with the story they were trying to tell. So many villain deaths happened off screen. We should’ve seen those. This game should’ve been twice as long at the bare minimum. And again, I think most games are way too long and I’m saying this. The fact that IGN got hate for giving it an 8/10 is hilarious. This is not a 10/10. The fans just don’t want to admit it has flaws. But you have acknowledge the flaws if you ever want those flaws to be resolved. I personally give it a 7/10. Loved it, but it does have issues. Too short, Miles story is boring, side missions are the same and boring as any other open world. Things are rated way too high these days and it’s the reason we keep getting shitty games.
I'm hoping that this game turns out to be the "necessary evil" and they really ramp it up for future releases. I won't hold my breath on it though considering how extremely forgiving its fans are.

Not to mention why did they already introduce Anti-Venom (which Peter was never the host for) especially since Anti-Venom isn't only an anti-symbiote but can also cure any disease meaning he would have cured Harry's disease when he defeated Venom.
@@lordyoda9382 That wouldn't be an issue for Anti-Venom. It doesn't only cure any disease but completely cleanses the person's body. It even tried to cure/clense Peter Parker of his powers before being interrupted, which is why he's never worn the Anti-Venom suit, and it still causes his powers to cancel out anytime they're near each other. Also they got Anti-Venom's origin partially right, it was because of Mr. Negatives powers affecting reminiscences of the Venom symbiote but it was in Eddie Brock (after losing Venom obviously), not Peter Parker.
even without any of the other games on GOTY list this game should never of been in that talk it has NOTHING going for it visuals get dated, its game design is honestly worse, less content than 1 with less skins and costs more story is a mess, terrible character designs and boring realism "movie game"

Miles doesn't need to voice so his girlfriend can read his lips because he's signing to her. She sees the signs. He's just speaking for the benefit of the player. Also, deaf people don't magically get lipreading abilities, so even being able to see his face doesn't mean she'd necessarily understand what he was saying by watching his mouth move.
I may be mis remembering this but I’m pretty sure miles had a whole thing about not being able to balance his schoolwork and other life stuff with being spider-man and then he just takes over as the sole spider-man at the end and says he can handle it. That doesn’t make any sense
Yeah the Norman/Peter relationship bothered me. In the first game they had none of this "like a father to me" relationship and in fact Norman acted like a big dick swinging prick in his scenes with Peter.
In the first game Harry is "in Europe" (actually in the tank being kept alive by the symbiote). But in this game Harry is out of the tank, seemingly healthy, and hanging out with Peter. Norman would obviously look at the two of them and be happy that Harry is well again and spending time with his best friend. This is why Norman is expressing these feelings toward Peter in this game and wasn't in the first game - in the first game Norman was too worried about trying to come up with a cure for Harry.

@@lukeogor481 The only reason it "comes out of nowhere" is because in the first game Harry is not there. Norman has no opportunity to interact with both Peter and Harry at the same time. Norman says that Harry is in Europe but he's actually in the tank, dying. Plus Peter is working for Otto, who is Norman's rival, so of course Norman is disappointed that Peter is working for him instead of working at Oscorp, or even with Harry - he literally says "When Harry returns from Europe next summer maybe the two of you can work on that startup you always talked about." This game is the first time Norman interacts with Peter when Harry is (supposedly) cured and living a normal life. At this point Norman thinks/hopes that this is the new normal - Harry is cured, and he and Peter are back to being best friends again and working together. We know from the first game that Peter and Harry are best friends and have been since they were kids. It's not out of nowhere that Norman would look fondly upon Peter from all those years of friendship.
As for giving Harry the Ant-Venom symbiote, there are two things I can say. 1. Peter probably doesn't know how to succeed at transferring the symbiote, as he failed to do so with the original symbiote. OR 2. A more likely theory is that the Anti-Venom symbiote is more different than people think. It's truly a part of Peter, and you can say that it was created FROM him. It's stronger intertwined with his body, so probably very difficult, and most likely very painful to simply separate from.
It feels like Insomniac also suffered a huge nerf between SM1 and SM2 because this time around they just seemed like they don't know how to have more than one superheroes in their game and give both of them the emphasis they deserve without incredibly nerfing and low-balling one to get the other up on the pedestal. Considering the things Pete has done solo - the nerf he suffered in SM2 cannon is cringe-worthy and definitely makes for the best wasted $70 game. And then people were upset that it didn't win any awards. :P
Honestly it was a little too unrealistic to have the police completely cut out from the game. Like them or not, they exist in real life, and unless Spider-Man 2 takes place in an anarchist society, they should’ve been present. No ones saying Spidey had to be a bootlicker or anything, but the police should’ve been there.
Game had terrible writing and most of the times it felt like a lot of things changed just so certain characters could be included into the plot. Then again, when you have SBI involved with narration, what once was, will not be the same later.

@@dylansharp8471 The real OG Spider-Man would never even suggest that his superhero career is unnecessary, even if he does have a protégé. One of the core principals that makes Peter who he is as a hero is that he feels personally responsible for the wellbeing and lives of others and as long as he has the power to help someone, he will no matter what. This iteration of the character he flat out states that he is no longer needed because Miles is around. That is defeatist and something that someone who is giving up would say. OG Spider-Man would never give up if he were true to his character. That's only one example of course, but it's a good one in my opinion.
Come to think of it is Norman ever made aware that the symbiote leaves Harry and attaches to Peter? That has to be the case because otherwise Norman would put it together that Peter is Spider-Man. Doesn’t that mean Norman is slaving away at a cure because he’s under the impression that the symbiote isn’t working? That would at least explain why he never gives Harry the other symbiote that eventually ends up with Cletus Kassidy. But that would also mean Harry doesn’t know about the other symbiote either then right?
Norman knows the symbiote is off of Harry when he shows up at the Foundation after the Hunters destroy it. He looks at Harry, sees he's injured, and asks if he's ok - he knows then that the symbiote is gone. He doesn't know that Peter has it. Spider-Man is wearing a new black suit that acts like the symbiote does, and it's on the news (the Danikast) so Norman likely knows that Spider-Man has it now.
not gonna lie insomniac did a good job of making sure the after effects of boss battles or chases were still there. the game director even said they focused on it and you can see where
I wish you would’ve ripped on the side quests because I hated doing boring EMF missions and helping high schoolers with their homework and proposals. None of the side quests had satisfying endings besides mysterio. If I’m gonna take the time to do all your side quests I want the satisfaction of taking down a bad guy. I would’ve enjoyed this game much more if I got to fight carnage and the chameleon. And if the side quests didn’t distract Spiderman with non life-threatening inconveniences.
Being Spider-Man is not all about fighting villains. It's very important to him to help out people in his neighborhood. If you played the Miles game you would know that helping people in his community is *very* important to him - helping people in his school or investigating stolen instruments are just as important to Miles as fighting a supervillain.
Warning: Really long Rant that maybe true but think about the situation this game brings. A mysterious hunter is hunting down and killing villains. That kinda sets the tone for what kind of content it should be. I'm not saying we shouldn't get friendly neighborhood Spider-man but it shouldn't be in this game. The first game did it better where there were moments between each villain problem that you felt like you had time between each segment to be a friendly neighborhood spider-man. Miles spin off also did it better because they were through the app and despite the story problems of a vigilante app it was also a smaller scale emergency than an entire citywide crisis because it was tied to only Harlem and again there were segments to ease off tension and let you do these things.

Noir” and the game’s side quests wants you to fill out paperwork. Like duh it’s important for the detective to do his paperwork but do I, the player, want to? This game has lots of moments between missions where you have plenty of time to do non-main mission stuff - most of it is low-stakes like EMF experiments, finding Spider-Bots, helping Miles in his school/community, etc. Lots of side missions are always popping up and you can do them whenever you want. And there are lots of moments where the next main mission does not automatically pop up and Peter/Miles tells you "Time to check on what's happening in the city." As far as this game "setting the tone" for its content about Kraven hunting supervillains, I should remind you that the second game has a bombing at City Hall by terrorists that Spider-Man is desperate to find. And then a biological weapon is released in the city and criminals escape Rikers/The Raft. The tone of this game as far as the seriousness of what's happening in the city is on par with the first game.

You're right, in the comics Venom is weak to High Frequency Noise, Fire, Electricity (Miles would have kicked his ass), and other Symbiotes. The developers felt this was way to many weaknesses, and decided to just keep one... "So originally, there was like 5 different weaknesses of the symbiote," says Intihar. "And we were like 'oh my god, how are we going to communicate all these different things?' We were like, 'you know what, for our universe, we're just going to keep it to high-frequency sound.'" - Game's director, Bryan Intihar
The biggest issue I had with the story was that Venom defeated Kraven, when I really think Peter and Miles should've beaten Kraven. I think Venom should've been a background character in this game and become the main villain in a sequel Side note: They made the same mistake in Ratchet & Clank (2016) where Doctor Nefarious defeated Drek when Drek should've been the main villain not Nefarious.
I dissagre with that since Peter, Harry and venom is the main plot of story while kraven is more of second plot forces Peter and Harry become enemies like Dr octopus and Dr negative
@@S-treme I thought that Kraven was the main villain and then they just set-up Venom partway through the story and had him kill Kraven. Then Venom and his Symbiote army appeared which then to me made it feel like a different game entirely. That's why I feel they could've set-up Venom in this game but had the sequel be all about Peter, Miles, Harry and Venom. I found Kraven's defeat very disappointing especially when throughout the story he was shown to be an unstoppable force.

And even then, as a villain, he was still leagues better than most of Spidey's rogue gallery as his villainy was mostly towards making life hell for Spidey as some self deluded revenge. But during the times he wasn't going after Spiderman, he was actually playing the Lethal Protector of the innocents albeit for selfish reasons at first (trying to show he was a better hero than Spiderman) but eventually for noble reasons. Hell, there was even a time where Venom broke off from fighting Spiderman to save civilians from being collaterals in their fight, only continuing once he was sure they were safe. So even as a villain, he was more like a dark rival/foil for Spiderman and was nowhere near as vile and evil as this Venom was.
Surprised you didn't give a sin to the fact that a TON of people know the true identities of both Spider-Men. That's something that I found hard to remove disbelief on when I played it.

Regarding the "World hunger" sin, it's not as simple as "produce more food". You have logistics such as how to distribute the food to people and how to make sure the corrupt warlords and politicians don't hoard it for themselves. ANd in regards to the "Harry having a cane" sin early on, he mentions it's a sort of insurance policy since the full effects of Venom are unknown.

I am surprised you didn't sin (with a multiplier) how to create artificial tension MJ doesn't tell Peter that when he sleeps his symbiote goes haywire and attacks people, including her. Nobody ended up telling him that in the entire game, I was keeping track. That conversation with him and Harry would have gone completely different if he was given taht little bit of context, but we can't have mature conversing in the game. There is no reason for her not to tell him that happened (since she could clearly see Peter was still sleeping in the symbiote and can make the moderately easy guess that he did not know what he was doing). No reason besides bad writing, clearly.
P.S. A lot of the marketing mentioned how "Venom will be somebody who hasn't been seen as Venom before". Harry has been Venom in multiple comicbooks and even for a bit in TV series (not sure if just in Marvel's Spider-man or it also happened in Ultimate at one point). So that was bull.

It wouldn't have made any difference if MJ had told Peter that. At that point he had been told that the symbiote was an alien and he was ok with keeping it for himself. Before he goes to see Harry (where that conversation with MJ takes place) Peter literally says "I wonder if Harry really needs the suit?" He knows that Harry needs the suit back or he'll die, but he's justifying keeping it for himself. If MJ had told him "Last night, while you were asleep, the symbiote took control of you and nearly killed people" Peter would have just justified that too.

Funny, we play several Batman games where we end up playing as Nightwing, Catwoman, Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood, Azreal, Joker, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and in short sections, Gordon and a random cop and I don’t recall any complaints.

Not to mention they either offered the same style of game play (Robin,Nightwing, Harley etc) or were used to add directly to the plot (random cop being used to establish that scarecrow has begun his plan or joker being inside the psyche of Batman showing how he views things) where here we spray paint and do non powered stealth sections.

I got a voice acting background and have to say that Yuri Lowenthal's voice has been such an inspiration for me since the Prince of Persia Trilogy. His performance in Spidey 2 is amazing. If you got a second, I highly recommend watching the The Two Thrones cutscenes.The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him and the late Kevin Conroy are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

I will say the guy is dedicated. I keep thinking he prepared for Spider Man 2 by working on that Dota anime on Netflix. Yuri played a character that was having his body taken over by a dragon voiced by Tony Todd (Venom's VA). The scene where Venom sprouts wings reminds me of that show.
Yuri Lowenthal is a great veteran actor. Yosuke, Ben 10, pretty much half the characters in Fallout New Vegas. His portfolio of characters voiced is huge.

This game got WAAAAAY too overhyped. It’s a great game. I loved it. But it didn’t really push the envelope. It was pretty much just more of the first game.
And Miles story in this was so boring. I love Miles, but you could take him out of this game and not much would change. Even his side missions were worse.
I think most games are way too long, but this one was actually way too short. It felt so rushed with the story they were trying to tell. So many villain deaths happened off screen. We should’ve seen those. This game should’ve been twice as long at the bare minimum. And again, I think most games are way too long and I’m saying this.
The fact that IGN got hate for giving it an 8/10 is hilarious. This is not a 10/10. The fans just don’t want to admit it has flaws. But you have acknowledge the flaws if you ever want those flaws to be resolved.
I personally give it a 7/10. Loved it, but it does have issues. Too short, Miles story is boring, side missions are the same and boring as any other open world. Things are rated way too high these days and it’s the reason we keep getting shitty games.

The reason there arent many police in the game, is because people were literally crying because there were cops in the first one.
So how the heck did so many people argue that this should have won GOTY instead of Baldur's Gate 3? Not to mention why did they already introduce Anti-Venom (which Peter was never the host for) especially since Anti-Venom isn't only an anti-symbiote but can also cure any disease meaning he would have cured Harry's disease when he defeated Venom.
He couldn’t because the symbiote is bonded into his blood or whatever.

It even tried to cure/clense Peter Parker of his powers before being interrupted, which is why he's never worn the Anti-Venom suit, and it still causes his powers to cancel out anytime they're near each other.
Also they got Anti-Venom's origin partially right, it was because of Mr. Negatives powers affecting reminiscences of the Venom symbiote but it was in Eddie Brock (after losing Venom obviously), not Peter Parker.

Miles doesn't need to voice so his girlfriend can read his lips because he's signing to her. She sees the signs. He's just speaking for the benefit of the player. Also, deaf people don't magically get lipreading abilities, so even being able to see his face doesn't mean she'd necessarily understand what he was saying by watching his mouth move.
I may be mis remembering this but I’m pretty sure miles had a whole thing about not being able to balance his schoolwork and other life stuff with being spider-man and then he just takes over as the sole spider-man at the end and says he can handle it. That doesn’t make any sense

Yeah the Norman/Peter relationship bothered me. In the first game they had none of this "like a father to me" relationship and in fact Norman acted like a big dick swinging prick in his scenes with Peter.
In the first game Harry is "in Europe" (actually in the tank being kept alive by the symbiote). But in this game Harry is out of the tank, seemingly healthy, and hanging out with Peter. Norman would obviously look at the two of them and be happy that Harry is well again and spending time with his best friend. This is why Norman is expressing these feelings toward Peter in this game and wasn't in the first game - in the first game Norman was too worried about trying to come up with a cure for Harry.

Norman says that Harry is in Europe but he's actually in the tank, dying. Plus Peter is working for Otto, who is Norman's rival, so of course Norman is disappointed that Peter is working for him instead of working at Oscorp, or even with Harry - he literally says "When Harry returns from Europe next summer maybe the two of you can work on that startup you always talked about."
This game is the first time Norman interacts with Peter when Harry is (supposedly) cured and living a normal life. At this point Norman thinks/hopes that this is the new normal - Harry is cured, and he and Peter are back to being best friends again and working together.
We know from the first game that Peter and Harry are best friends and have been since they were kids. It's not out of nowhere that Norman would look fondly upon Peter from all those years of friendship.
A lot of these “Kravens goons suddenly pop up” is the easiest explanation of “….. because they are hunting”
I can't believe we got a worse symbiote story than Spider-Man 3.
Not only would giving Harry anti venom fix all his problems, but also Peter could have cured the man himself
As for giving Harry the Ant-Venom symbiote, there are two things I can say.
1. Peter probably doesn't know how to succeed at transferring the symbiote, as he failed to do so with the original symbiote.
OR
2. A more likely theory is that the Anti-Venom symbiote is more different than people think. It's truly a part of Peter, and you can say that it was created FROM him. It's stronger intertwined with his body, so probably very difficult, and most likely very painful to simply separate from.
True, in theory he can cure him with the anti venom.
But he has that anti venom for a few hours and I think he haven't discovered this ability yet
It feels like Insomniac also suffered a huge nerf between SM1 and SM2 because this time around they just seemed like they don't know how to have more than one superheroes in their game and give both of them the emphasis they deserve without incredibly nerfing and low-balling one to get the other up on the pedestal. Considering the things Pete has done solo - the nerf he suffered in SM2 cannon is cringe-worthy and definitely makes for the best wasted $70 game. And then people were upset that it didn't win any awards. :P

Honestly it was a little too unrealistic to have the police completely cut out from the game. Like them or not, they exist in real life, and unless Spider-Man 2 takes place in an anarchist society, they should’ve been present. No ones saying Spidey had to be a bootlicker or anything, but the police should’ve been there.
And just like cinemasins, you pad the sun count with things that aren’t a sin of the game.
Game had terrible writing and most of the times it felt like a lot of things changed just so certain characters could be included into the plot. Then again, when you have SBI involved with narration, what once was, will not be the same later.

One of the core principals that makes Peter who he is as a hero is that he feels personally responsible for the wellbeing and lives of others and as long as he has the power to help someone, he will no matter what.
This iteration of the character he flat out states that he is no longer needed because Miles is around. That is defeatist and something that someone who is giving up would say. OG Spider-Man would never give up if he were true to his character. That's only one example of course, but it's a good one in my opinion.

Come to think of it is Norman ever made aware that the symbiote leaves Harry and attaches to Peter? That has to be the case because otherwise Norman would put it together that Peter is Spider-Man. Doesn’t that mean Norman is slaving away at a cure because he’s under the impression that the symbiote isn’t working? That would at least explain why he never gives Harry the other symbiote that eventually ends up with Cletus Kassidy. But that would also mean Harry doesn’t know about the other symbiote either then right?
Norman knows the symbiote is off of Harry when he shows up at the Foundation after the Hunters destroy it. He looks at Harry, sees he's injured, and asks if he's ok - he knows then that the symbiote is gone. He doesn't know that Peter has it.
Spider-Man is wearing a new black suit that acts like the symbiote does, and it's on the news (the Danikast) so Norman likely knows that Spider-Man has it now.

I wish you would’ve ripped on the side quests because I hated doing boring EMF missions and helping high schoolers with their homework and proposals. None of the side quests had satisfying endings besides mysterio.
If I’m gonna take the time to do all your side quests I want the satisfaction of taking down a bad guy. I would’ve enjoyed this game much more if I got to fight carnage and the chameleon. And if the side quests didn’t distract Spiderman with non life-threatening inconveniences.
Being Spider-Man is not all about fighting villains. It's very important to him to help out people in his neighborhood. If you played the Miles game you would know that helping people in his community is *very* important to him - helping people in his school or investigating stolen instruments are just as important to Miles as fighting a supervillain.
Warning: Really long Rant that maybe true but think about the situation this game brings. A mysterious hunter is hunting down and killing villains. That kinda sets the tone for what kind of content it should be. I'm not saying we shouldn't get friendly neighborhood Spider-man but it shouldn't be in this game. The first game did it better where there were moments between each villain problem that you felt like you had time between each segment to be a friendly neighborhood spider-man. Miles spin off also did it better because they were through the app and despite the story problems of a vigilante app it was also a smaller scale emergency than an entire citywide crisis because it was tied to only Harlem and again there were segments to ease off tension and let you do these things.

This game has lots of moments between missions where you have plenty of time to do non-main mission stuff - most of it is low-stakes like EMF experiments, finding Spider-Bots, helping Miles in his school/community, etc. Lots of side missions are always popping up and you can do them whenever you want. And there are lots of moments where the next main mission does not automatically pop up and Peter/Miles tells you "Time to check on what's happening in the city."
As far as this game "setting the tone" for its content about Kraven hunting supervillains, I should remind you that the second game has a bombing at City Hall by terrorists that Spider-Man is desperate to find. And then a biological weapon is released in the city and criminals escape Rikers/The Raft. The tone of this game as far as the seriousness of what's happening in the city is on par with the first game.

You're right, in the comics Venom is weak to High Frequency Noise, Fire, Electricity (Miles would have kicked his ass), and other Symbiotes.
The developers felt this was way to many weaknesses, and decided to just keep one...
"So originally, there was like 5 different weaknesses of the symbiote," says Intihar. "And we were like 'oh my god, how are we going to communicate all these different things?' We were like, 'you know what, for our universe, we're just going to keep it to high-frequency sound.'" - Game's director, Bryan Intihar
Also most consumers only think that Venom's weakness is High Frequency Noise, so you don't have to add more exposition about the weakness.
The biggest issue I had with the story was that Venom defeated Kraven, when I really think Peter and Miles should've beaten Kraven. I think Venom should've been a background character in this game and become the main villain in a sequel
Side note: They made the same mistake in Ratchet & Clank (2016) where Doctor Nefarious defeated Drek when Drek should've been the main villain not Nefarious.

@@S-treme I thought that Kraven was the main villain and then they just set-up Venom partway through the story and had him kill Kraven. Then Venom and his Symbiote army appeared which then to me made it feel like a different game entirely. That's why I feel they could've set-up Venom in this game but had the sequel be all about Peter, Miles, Harry and Venom.
I found Kraven's defeat very disappointing especially when throughout the story he was shown to be an unstoppable force.

What I dug upwhy did they remove them???? TheGamer, Kotaku, and The Ringer put out articles saying the SM 2018 was pro-cop and they felt it was not a good representation of the social climate. It felt like a chore to get through the game tbh. The swinging/ gliding is fun but the combat and everything else is mind numbingly boring. Even the story was just meh
They could of at least change Peter base combat, add a unique symbiote combat, and add more brutal symbiote takedowns. I’m disappointed because of the lack of there being less symbiote takedown and no unique symbiote combat which is crazy. What Spider-Man fans don’t want something like that?
