I see clips like this and I can't stop yearning for those good old days of variety shows of this calibre. Obviously Juliet rehearsed all week long - and Bob and Dean are skimming along (delightfully) with Juliet holding the trio together. Talent X 3!!!!
Juliet Prowse gone to soon at 59 I am 36 and I enjoyed listening to her, on my grandad's sweet charity record. Such a beautiful voice with lots of power. Wish I had seen the show on Broadway and would have been breathtaking, for me she will always be the one and only sweet charity. Sadly all three of them are no longer with us R.I.P
There were a lot of no-talent bums in the old days. But they didn't make it to the big time. That was the beauty of vaudeville. It weeded out the people with less talent. And by the time someone got to be at the top, they had worked in front of an audience so much that they made it look effortless. Bob and Dino came up in that school and made it to the top because they had tremendous talent. And it shows in this clip.
The dance break here is so short. Dean wasn’t much of a dancer so he just winged it for laughs. Hope danced very well. Not seen here but of course Juliet was fabulous!

What an era! The French and the Americans were still great, civilized and classy.
