That is NOT 1 CUP of rice! 🍚
Same as the milk
Thank you, I was like um, no ma'am!
I thought the same thing. It looks like 2 to 3 cups.
Exactly
I literally said the same as soon as I saw that
A small suggestion from my side, before soaking the rice, wash the rice twice or thrice to avoid the starchy odour in the final output. Or you can add aromatics like vanilla or cardamom to enhance the flavour. Let the creativity spread ❤
Washing the rice thoroughly, until the water runs clear, is a good plan, always. If it floats it is plastic and throw it out.
@@diannerobinson7858 yeah, that's another advantage. But, I always felt the starchy odour, whenever the rice was not washed properly.
All of that love cardamom❤
Is the sweetened coconut?
@@With-one-wing Are you referring to cardamom??
She fails to mention that you should cook the rice first! If you don't, you will have gritty bits mixed with moist cake.
True u was wondering that but mabe her blender works well to grind up every thing very well
I was wondering wouldn’t the milk go bad sitting out with rice for 3 hours. So my question answered. 1 cup rice cooked put in 1 cup milk. Wait milk still cold so I feel it should go in fridge for those 3 hours but I want to try it but does cooked rice and cold milk chill in fridge 3 hours????
I think after soaking and processing in the blender it would finish cooking in the moist batter and be fine.
Wow!, Thank you so much! That's why it DIDNT look like 1 cup 😮 Glad you caught her mistake. THANKS again
@@cathygrace9030Do you live under a rock?? Milk can stay fresh for almost 24hrs at room temperature.
Looks delicious. I always love eating grainy cakes with tea
The point of the Bundt pan is that you flip the cake out and it's ready to serve and glaze with the flat side down. Why would you serve it flat side up?
Edit: I'm adding this for those who don't understand cake baking. The more you handle the cake, the more likely it will fall apart, especially when warm. Therefore, the beauty of the Bundt: no need to touch it at all. Flip it out and, boom! Perfect cake!
That's what I was thinking. Maybe she likes it that way. To flip, or not to flip? That is the question!
@@jgirldo2691😅
I think it's by choice.
to get comments... comments = engagement
We used to leave the cake in the pan, poke holes in it with a knife, then pour rum or a flavored whiskey in it. Then flip it over when ready to cut & serve !!
To non-asians please dont forget to wash your rice 3x before adding the milk. 😢
Right😅
I'm Hibred Asian from Hawai, and I know how to cook rice😂 Aloha❤
Washing you rice once is okay but 3× then you are just removing the nutrient from the rice
@@mathildawilliams5419 we Asians wash rice 3x to remove all the chalky powder. If you haven't washed rice before, I suggest you take your opinions somewhere else.
Non-asian but learned how to cook rice from Asians. You should wash your rice 3-4 times until the water runs clear
Okay after watching this numerous times I noticed the rice is dry. You used about 3 cups each of rice and milk or 3 1/2 cups of each, a can of condensed milk. A cup of the grated coconut, 1 cup light olive oil, 3 eggs, 1 TBL baking powder, 1 cup+ 2 TBL of sugar. I would add a tsp of vanilla or 1/2 tsp of almond or coconut extract. Sounds wonderfully delicious!❣️Thank you so much for sharing❣️It looks like every one thought so, too, as there wouldn’t be so much response to trying to figure out proportions.😁Hang in there💗💕😊
in Malaysia there’s this dessert (kuih) we called apam beras (rice). but we use cooked rice to make it fluffy and light and we coloured them in different colours 😍 and also we eat apam beras with salted shredded coconut 🥰😍 just for sharing 🫶🏻

I thought it was horchata, then I saw the eggs 😊
Must be the equivalent of using rice flour.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Everyones so creative
I made this cake and it's really awesome.
Its raw rice. Not cooked rice.
One cup raw rice flour to one cup milk.
If using rice flour, no need to soak at all.
I used only sugar, no condnsed milk.
Its sweet enough.
I used a teaspoon of vanilla and
a teaspoon of salt.
It's my favourite cake now!!
Hi, thanks for the feedback.. checking if you cooked the rice like others are suggesting and did it tast gritty if the rice was uncooked.
Hi! No! Raw rice. I made it again with rice flour. 2 cups rice flour.
Works even better
Wash the rice ..Cook the rice .. then cook it. My mother made something similar to this, but she always cooked the rice first… then rinse it very well.
when adding milk to rice, add 3 tblspn vanilla essence, 3 tblspn fresh lemon juice, 2 tsps cinnamon, 1/2 tspn cardomon. Then, at the end add 1/2 cup poppy seeds👍
Sounds great. But I’m allergic to cinnamon. Does cardamom taste good without cinnamon?
I'd love to try this, and make it vegan/gf.
Why put the cake upside down?🤔
Yeah. That bugged me too.
Yeah that was my question as well
I know right 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It also looked dry
She probably burned it .
I’ve made this cake 3 times now. People love it! My Tips: no need to rinse rice; add vanilla extract (Tbl spoon) & ground cardamon to milk bath; let sit 4 hrs in frig; microwave milk-rice mixture 1-2 minutes on low power before adding ingredients. do you cook the rice first?
Rice should be rinsed to remove the dirt and pesticides.
Do you glaze or ice?
I honestly can’t tell if this one is comedy or legit bc those comments…..
She really gave rice cake a whole new meaning
I actually wanna try this now
Cook your rice first..
This is a recipe my grandmother used to make, she cooked the rice first. It's something they made when they had very little flour.
and how long did she live eating that kind of toxicity?

as an Asian, we cook the rice first to make it more soft then blend it with other ingredients.
How long do we cook it for?

Actually, I believe you're supposed to serve that cake upside down. Meaning you cut it while it was sitting the wrong way. The round part is to be at the top. And just to let you know that was a beautiful looking cake well done😊
Agreed! Highly annoying to see the bottom of the cake as the top. 😱🙄
Exactly, and when u leave a cake the bottom at the top, and u cut it just like that, is dosen't taste that delicious😂😂😂😂😂

Hi, Please share the ingredients information..
Use applesauce in place of the oil. Much lighter.
Yes, that looked like olive oil-cuz or the color-but what type of ‘trans fat’ seed oil was it, actually ñ?
Diet cake? 😂
I read "Use applause instead of oil" at first and was quite confused until I realised that applause would indeed make it much lighter than with oil
I KNOW for a fact that was the grittiest cake anyone has ever had since medieval times.
Edit1: She said she was gonna place it in a plate and try it but completely decided to skip past that because she knew it was drier than the Sahara desert after this heat we just got for summer.

Arroz con leche is rice with milk cooked on the stove not baked with baking powder as a cake

1 cup rice soak in the milk for at least 3 hrs

I cup of rice I think. Gonna try the recipe. Looks yummy. I love coconut!!!
I made this cake but did some exchanges. I used coconut oil for the oil, Parboiled the rice because I didnt think it would soften, used Coconut Cream instead of Sweetened Condensed Milk, Agave instead of sugar & cooked it for 60 minutes instaed of 50.
It was interesting & really had promise but it wasn't completely done so I'd add 5 minutes next time. Also, the rice was still a little crunchy. So I'd add 2 cups of cooked rice blended versus the 1 cup soaked. Possibly reduce the milk to half a cup since the agave is liquid & the cooked rice would already have absorbed some liquid. Also, I used Pam instead of margarine. It stuck to the pan so I'd stick with her margarine or butter on that. This recipe is gluten free for those who are tracking that.
Easily delecious nicely expressed ingredients ❤❤ looking for more
