    Thanks for showing these. Kona is similar to the shortened Caliente and Haven styles and I like that length. I will have to think about Alesandria because of that fit. But later in the year. It has been too hot for much wig wearing this summer. Tend to go for hats when out.
    I think we like the shorter wigs partly because of the petite head dimension. If you look at the models, Caliente falls on them about like the shortened one does on you. We have less skull taking up length, if that makes sense.
    Have a nice rest of the summer.

      Thank you, Donna. I didn't have any trouble moving the factory set part on that one, but sometimes, you just need a whip and a chair, LOL. My issue with both Kennedy and Haven ended up being the caps were just way too large and I couldn't get a really secure fit without gluing the lace. I don't have to do that with my Belle Tress wigs unless I just want to, such as if I'm going away from home for a day and don't want to think about it moving on me. Always appreciate your comments!

    I just started watching Yellowstone and can’t stop! Love those cowboys! lol Great review-I might try Haven. I struggle with roots too. Started wearing Belle Madame wigs from Continental wigs. There are some nice blondes in that line.

      I once had a Carlotta. I think I like the styles better than the colors, though the Vanilla Root has pretty tones, the color I had. The root on that particular one was a bit too warm for my taste. I wish they would offer non-rooted blondes. Ellen Wille has a similar issue so they're not alone. Haven is very pretty, but I think benefits when it's parted off the middle or it falls a bit heavy in the face. I think we can make most wigs work even if they need a bit of manhandling to behave, LOL. Yes, Yellowstone! I've watched and re-watched seasons of that and I am pretty sad that it will be wrapping up as a series.

    I came across you recently as I’ve been searching RUclips to get all the advice and help I can as I try to choose my second wig. My first turned out to be uncomfortable and I don’t think it’s ever fit me properly. I keep feeling like I have to pull it down.
    I feel it was a waste of money ($1100) and I don’t want to make that mistake again.
    I really enjoyed seeing you in these beautiful wigs. You look amazing in all of them.
    Another reason I reached out to you is that your measurements are almost identical to mine and thought maybe you could advise me on a brand I should look at.
    My circumference is 23 in. and my ear to ear is 11.5 and front to back is 12 in. So very close to yours. Even my hairline to chin is the same as yours - 8 in. I don’t fit into any category and am feeling pretty discouraged.
    My hair loss is progressing to the point that I really need to find a wig.
    One company I called said I must go for the large cap size as the circumference is the only important measurement. I think a large will be too big in some areas.
    Do you have any idea on where I should start? My own hair is quite short now so I’ll probably look for a short style to start. I wish I could wear your beautiful longer styles.
    Thank you for any help you can give.
    After watching this video it appears that Belle Tress has been your wig brand of choice. After hearing your negative experience I think you may be hesitant to recommend that company. I would not want to deal with a company that treats their customers so badly. I’m glad to hear the retailer was good to you.

    • @frontporchwigchat6260
      @frontporchwigchat6260  7 месяцев назад

      Seems that since Covid and supply chain issues plus skyrocketing wig prices, companies seem all too eager to ignore issues and pass on defective pieces so that they don't lose money themselves, all the while victimizing customers. You would NOT need a large cap, IMO, in most styles, it will be very baggy at the crown. You need one with some stretch, IMO. Estetica has caps that fit average to large and though some have to really be cinched in on me, I can generally wear them. They have cute styles, but no true ash blondes, the 1488 color would be the closest. Some Ellen Wille wigs may fit you. They usually run small, but their Hair Power collection has some good caps that should stretch, cannot guarantee it because of the slight variations among each style within each brand. Tressallure may also work for you if you can find a color in the brand. I cannot say how they treat customers because I have never had a defective in either brand, but one of the best companies I've dealt with is Continental Wigs in the UK-they sometimes have free shipping sales to anywhere and carry many brands, including Natural Image, which runs quite small if I recall correctly. Hope this helps!

      Thank you sooo much for your prompt and detailed response. That was a pleasant surprise this morning!
      I will definitely look at Tressallure and even Ellen Wille. She has some cute styles.
      I was thinking of trying Rachel Welch Crushing on Casual Elite in Iced Latte Macchiato which seemed to be an ashy blonde. True ash blonde is exactly what I’m looking for. I do love the colours on you and can probably do a neutral blond. Right now I’m gray/white and don’t feel ready to embrace that although I am considerably older than you. 74 Yikes!
      I know Ellen Wille has more limited colours but will check them out to see if there’s something in a neutral or cool blonde. I think my skin tone is close to yours but I have no warm undertone.
      I will also look at Continental Wigs in the UK. I am in Ontario , Canada.
      Many thanks again for your suggestions. I now feel more hopeful that I’ll find something that fits (without going to a baggy large cap). Lol
      Hope you have a lovely holiday season.

    I have been considering getting a wig for ages, but buying one online concerns me, cuz I know so little about wigs in general. My natural hair, if I grow it to that length, looks very similar to the wavy/curly hair on the Alexandria wig you had on last, (which, btw, looked fabulous on you!), only my natural hair has always been extremely fine, is loaded with cowlicks, frizzes easily, and grows in all sorts of weird directions! I call it “Naturally Squirrely!” The waves and curls have always made my hair appear much fuller than it really is, sort of like the way you described the Alexandria wig. But, between aging (I’m now 74) and having had chemo treatment a few years back wherein I didn’t lose hair but it thinned out terribly, I now keep my hair extremely short.
    I can’t decide if I want a short wig or one like the Alexandria. Decisions, decisions! And, as you say, what with the cost of a good wig, it’s a very important decision. Also, I tend to have a hot head, so am concerned about that, too. I do know that, like you, I have a rather smallish head and not much area between my ears and my shoulders, so several of the wigs I tried on when I went through chemo, and the one I finally chose but never felt the need to wear, were way too much hair for me.
    Thank you for doing these videos. I am learning a lot about wigs, and all the terminology of “wigdom!” Count me in as a new Subscriber! 🧑🏻‍🦳

      Hi, Cyd, welcome to the channel and thank you! I am very hot-natured as well. The best pieces for that are low density and zero to little permatease, those small wiry hairs that line the wefts to lift the hair off of the cap and give fullness. Belle Tress brand generally has those features, but they are all heat friendly/heat defiant, meaning the fibers generally have a shorter life and become frazzles on the ends and must have heat applied to smooth those fibers. I find the best heat friendly fibers are made by Belle Tress and Ellen Wille. All the wigs I wear are regular synthetic (no heat allowed) or heat friendly synthetic as I will not wear human hair wigs (not to mention those are extremely expensive, can be upwards of $1000 and more). Those require all the styling that regular hair does and I was never very good with that in the first place. Synthetic wigs keep their set style unless, in the case of heat friendly, you change it by curling or straightening. Wigs always seem like a lot of hair when yours has been thinning, though if you take a picture of yourself or video yourself, you'll get a better idea of what they really look like. Many women wear different lengths because it's so easy to change your style. From time to time, I put wigs up for sale here at great discounts for others to try, ones that still has lots of life in them. The second hand market is a good way to try styles and colors at better prices. They have gone way up in price in the last two to three years so decisions are hard! I guarantee that Alexandria would seem like a ton of hair to a new wig wearer, probably not the best one to start with. Ellen Wille has wigs that fit me perfectly and rarely have heavy density or much permatease, some are heat friendly and some are not. Best of luck with your decision! ~Cynthia P.S. I did trim my own wigs, learned from a wig retailer on RUclips

    After watching a slew of Estetica “Haven” reviews, and a few other of their newer styles, it appears cheaper cap style features are Estetica’s current jam. I don’t have one to touch myself, but even the fibers seem to have changed, and not in a good way. Definitely less realistic. All of these changes make me curious about what’s going on with them.
    Must say, of all the Haven reviews, your unit looks the best, and looks super on you. X

      I do feel the fibers are a bit different than I remember, same as some of the Jon Renau pieces like Quinn. I don't care for the downgraded cap features and though they're skimping, that will never reflect that in their cost to us. The prices are super inflated on these and if I had not gotten bargains on both, I wouldn't own them. Thank you for the compliment! I do love the style.

    • @frontporchwigchat6260
      @frontporchwigchat6260  Год назад +2

      @@jf1180 Quinn was cute in the back, but the lace was not up to par and the fibers were rougher than they should have been and took color differently though they were supposed to be the same synthetic fibers. I'm so disappointed in what companies are doing that I never purchase anything at what they call 30% off anymore. To me, that is regular price. Better be 50% off or more to get me to even look at it. Which wig are the coolest to wear on hot summer days? Do you prefer open wefted or hand tied in warm weather?

    • @frontporchwigchat6260
      @frontporchwigchat6260  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, Patricia. That is sort of subjective but here is my take on that. What is hot is medium-heavy to heavy density and permatease. I don't find much difference in open wefted or hand tied as far as the heat aspect of them as long as the open wefted has a mono top/part and little to no permatease. I can't wear basic open cap wigs because they make me itch like crazy. It's why I don't like Noriko or Rene of Paris, plus not a fan of their fibers, seem thick to me and they have quite a bit of permatease, generally. The reason I review so many Belle Tress wigs is that they are mostly little to no permatease and have at least some monofilament feature, plus their fibers are light and airy, unlike Gabor/Raquel Welch's Tru2Life heat friendly ones (those styles tend to have a decent amount of permatease). I think double layer mono tops are very hot; most of the Amore brand is double mono. My lightest pieces are hands down the Belle Tress with at least a mono part and a length not more than 4" at the nape. I also think that wavy styles are cooler because they don't tend to turn under at the nape; they lift off my shoulders and do not get into my collar like straight wigs do. I hope this helps! ~Cynthia

      Thanks, Darlene. I don't wear my wigs every day and if I wear one, it's only for a video or an expected delivery, short trip to town, etc.., so they don't get a ton of wear each. I wash them only after a bunch of wears, usually about ten to twelve wears. I always turn my wigs upside down, shake them lightly and if I want them to stay "fluffy", I may spritz some Tressallure Wig Wax through the hair before I turn it right-side up. I think others may just comb through them and don't get the fibers off the cap like turning them upside down will do. I don't like completely "tame" hair. Hope this makes sense! ~Cynthia

      Doesn't the wig wax cause the fibers to stick together

      No, because it isn't actually wax. It's basically a hairspray and if the fibers are separated, the spray makes them stay that way. I also have Estetica wig spray and it makes the fibers a bit more stiff than the Tressallure product does. @@darlenegera8866
