Nice!!! We have one also! Ours '02 is silver, with a jackson super charger. Miles, 170K, parked next to our Spec-V. I still have the issue of Sport Compact Car, Import shoot-out, Nissan/Ford/Mazda.
Love the video, I'd say it's fairly powered/ "fast" not that it's like throw you in your seat high powered but it's not bad. if you stay over 5k!! Miss mine... So fun
I just bought one on impulse about a week ago, an 02 model, same color in the video, thanks for the cool information on the car, I didn't know much about what I was driving
In 2003 I chose between the Focus SVT and the MkIV Jetta Wolfsburg 1.8T. Wife pushed me into the Jetta for the nicer interior, but I still dream of the SVT.
225q is quite reliable w metal/silicone coolant system upgrade, red tops etc. and way easier to work on than the Svt. 29mpg over the hills with a longboard strapped on top on a Malone 1.5 reflash that can hold 20lbs on pump gas.
Totally agree on gut it, they left so much room on the table for weight reduc. I'm can't justify 2500$ for a jrsc but I can remove heavy and useless stuff- they even motorized the side mirrors.
You got that car in Tallahassee or Crawfordville. I used to own that exact one. I sold it back to the guy I bought it from. I bought for 4,500 spent over 7,000 in repairs and sold it back to him for 500. I couldn't afford to bring it back anymore and that guy Thomas did not take care of it. Engine bay is red right? Hit me up and ill give you info about what I've had done to it as far as repairs go. I have receipts. BTW I put the SVT emblem on the back there.
Lol How and why? I had to use a lot of profanity replacing the head on my Svt after giving it that bent exhaust valves mod the kids are doing now, timing belt all ripped up like David Lee Roth's pants etc. A few intake valves tilted juantily sideways like Billy the Kid's hat.
Svt focus is so underrated it’s insane. Bought mine when I had it for $1600 replaced a few suspension parts (motor mounts mainly all 3) put good tires on it and it was actually so much fun. Over 5k is where it’s at I was high revs all the time never had any issues 😂. Replaced timing belt as maintenance and drive belt too, had to do brakes but that’s normal shit. Alternator was kinda fussy for some reason idk why but besides that, things dope. Seats are insanely comfortable too. Went from 05 STI couldn’t drive it for more than like 40 mins without my back feeling like a grenade went off in it when I got out.. svt focus could legit drive all day did some 4 hr trips in it breezy breezy
No check engine light and imrc was replaced a year ago. Only faults has been a evap and secondary o2 which has been resolved. Slow and gutless is all relative because I have had and have other cars that is double and triple the horsepower.
Always makes me sad to see front and rear bumpers you guys got stuck with. the Eu specs 17" radial alloys are sexy in white on your imperial blue. have a 2004 st170 in the same colour as my daily driver and love it but god damn theres a new fault code that's not unfamiliar to me every week. The SVT block will take a big ol turbo kit essentially turning it into the Rs. bit costly though to be fair
Well I imagine it would be easy to throw in a thick cometic then just retard the cams back to zero, maybe throw in studs. I can see the Svt taking quite a bit of boost when the high c/r is adjusted.
I agree 100%, 2002-2007 was good segment for sport compacts. I would keep SVT near stock and only do OEM+ type mods.

picked up my Focus SVT a week ago! $4,500 and it is CLEAN! Heads referb, new valves and timing belt done 20k ago and runs like a dream so far!!!
Sounds like a good deal! Have fun with it. Mines been a money pit with the previous owner. I eventually have a full video on it.
@@red_rabbit_specv oh and my sports car is a Fiat X1/9 so now I've got two badass little cars

Just picked up a black one!!! So so so happy!! She needs a little rebuild nothingni can't do with my hands
Stay on that timing belt, these heads are getting rare.

Lol my other car's a mk1 TT, 1.8t definitely outperforms that svt
I been wanting to get a mk6 gti.
@@red_rabbit_specv I guess the 180hp fwd TT would actually be really comparable, mine's a reflashed 225

I would Gut-it, add a roll cage, add Recaro bucket seats, a K&N intake, and lower it just a tad. 😎

Blue exterior and red interior was never an option…. Swapped interior.
original color of the car is red but was repainted to blue. that's why the red seats. door cards was changed to blue though.
I love these cars!
I’m going to go look at one this weekend to hopefully add to my collection so far I only have the lightning
I would love to own a lightning. Definitely a iconic truck.

Just turned 20k miles on my 02 SVT Focus.
Up to 28k now.
Dang went from 1k a year to 1k a month
slow and gutless? do you have a check engine light on for imrc perhaps?

Loved that
These little beasts! Great cars but holy crap Zetec sucks to work on, i mean my H swapped civic was less of a shoehorn lol.
@@kennethfrazee2540 I agree totally about it sucks to work on. lol
Those seats are not special at all lol
I hate the SVT seats.
@@red_rabbit_specv that’s some really lazy designing forsure. Those things look awful, plus is that it’s leather tho
The Eropean Appearance Package brought leather Recaro seats.
