Lou, I’m a new subscriber and an old kit builder from the 70s thru the 90s and have built my fair share of Enterprise ships.....Thank you for sharing your very nice build, methods and skills, I haven’t built a kit since around 99 and was collecting diecast aircraft and just about all of those Art Asylum and Diamond Select Star Trek Starships. After viewing your build of the Pike Enterprise I’ve ordered this kit and a few others and have that fire to build this kit and a few others after many years of being away from modeling.....😎
That's fantastic Steven! We really are in a new golden age of model building these days, and the kits are made so much better (typos aside - hee, hee) just grab a kit and dig in
The Raised Detail is Featured on the CGI Model. The Idea behind this is that the Raised Elements are meant to be painted or you have the option of using and contouring the Decals. Beast
after seeing you build with this model i can see this is a good model design , so what i'm gonna do is use it to make a representation of the kelvin enterprise a , cause the design is half way there and i can see that a proper paint job and decals will make it 90%
Lou+ another great build can't weight to see you build the new 1/32 scale shuttle craft that round 2 has come out with there are already 2 people have build them
The first video of yours I saw was the Enterprise-C. Now I am using your "Mask The Darkest Parts First" technique on Magnum's Ferrari 308. We'll see how it works out.
That looks AWESOME!!! Since you mentioned you will be building several of these, perhaps a retro build with the original paint scheme and registry font would be something to consider...
Not a typographical error but a grammatical error (they printed what they intended - it was just wrong!) Funny Tamiya X19 Smoke features so heavily - the day the video was posted I took delivery of 4 pots of it for my 2' B7 Liberator. It's great stuff but not "clear black" as you state - it tends to shift greys into brown slightly but is great for "space grime" weathering. Looking forward to next week's thrilling instalment 👍
Hey, Lou, you should build the round 2 1/32 shuttle craft galileo. , I perfer the 22'' inch profile of the galileo maybe you could modify the 1/32 scale,to look like the small 22 inch model.
@@aztekdummy Hey Lou,thank for getting back with me,Yeah I know .I per ordered three for myself waiting for package's shipped out to me, maybe nest month,Thank 's have great week end. Kenard
Good update. Can't wait to order a set of the templates. Would it be better to pretty much paint the saucer and probably others before assembly? Wonder if there's an easy way to create masks for all the decals to not use any...
Great looking Enterprise Lou. That aztec work sure looks rather tedious but well worth it I see. I like your choices for colors. I've now seen several versions of this build out there and everyone has a different interpretation which is the way it should be I guess. Have you seen the new 1/32 Galileo shuttle from Polar Lights? It looks like you could do some of your lighting magic with that one.
Hi Lou......I saw your mask set on culttvman's website for the the new pike-prise .......will you be offering the mask set for windows and inner engine struts only ?
OK, I'm a model railway builder now...mostly. A lot has changed in the long years since my last Star Trek build. I'm wondering, and this may have already been asked, but would it work to paint the interior of the shell black or dark gray to eliminate some of the hotspots or light leaks? I'm stupid. Enlighten me. Thanks.
I prefer the aluminum tape for interior light block, but painting certainly works on the hot spots. On the light leaks after the parts are together I use the tulip liquid
Lou, maybe I'm stupid or sump'n but doing a search for tulip liquid brings up pictures of flowers and fabric paint. What is that stuff and where do you get it? You'd think in 72 years I'd have...yeah, never mind. Thanks.
yes I do right now I've got over 70 different sets for all kinds of Sci-Fi ships. the best place to start is www.culttvmanshop.com/Painting-masks_c_23.html
it would be huge. Not a fan of making these ships massively huge ( think that goes back to the bigger and bigger star destroyers in SW).Give me a 1000 foot ship and a crew of 430 and I'm fine
This is just so great, you did a tremendous job! I got just three questions for you: 1) When will the vinyls be available to buy? 2) Where can we get them? How much will they cost (maybe including shipping to Europe)? Can't wait!
That's an intense amount of work but the results are mind-boggling. I am a sucker for a ship all lit up, a floating city in space. I for one, am very much looking forward to your "all in" PikerPrise. Are you just using the ship as it appears on your TV/monitor as color ref? Or that with the box, or other sources?
little of everything. it's tough to get the screen look, because just by the way they change the lighting on the CGI, it can look very different. In the good old days, I'd defer to the filming model. Alas, those days are gone
Great build as always but I have to confess, aztecing on a TOS era ship just never feels right to me. I actually loved the paint scheme as it was at the end of Part 1 of the build where you just saw the panel lines; I think adding the registration decals to it at that point and calling it done would have made for a great retro interpretation of the ship.
Heya, We Call Her the Neo- Constitution Enterprise. It’s a More Accurate Description of What She is and What She’s Meant to Represent!? There are so Many Terms Floating Around that are at they’re Worst Unimaginative and at They’re Very Best Lazy and Inaccurate? Have Great Weekend!
ah, but are you sure there is even a USS Constitution in this universe? have we seen a dedication plaque on the the bridge of this Enterprise? you are applying 50 years of back story to something that could be completely new.

Not really...that's a knock-off generic version. the actual font is called Eurostile. and it's used everywhere. there is a great book on the subject I highly recommend typesetinthefuture.com/
Why are you planning on doing "many, many" versions of this model? I think at one stage you said 100 (I know that is an exaggeration) so I was wondering, and where are you going to put them all (I know your man cave is filling up). I'm rewatching this several times as I wait for your masks to arrive on the slow boat to Australia which is now 1/2 as slow as it used to be because of Covid.

Lou great job! I do believe "Round 2" makes type O's just to see if you can catch it. LOL
LOL! As you were explaining the difference between roll and role i was thinking cinnamon roll! 🖖🖖
Nice build, thinking of painting mine the same as the Tos Enterprise.
You’re always on a roll shipbuilding. Bloody good Pikerprise!!
She's a good ship, and true. Good luck with the "roll" out of the new templates.
Thank you Lou . I really enjoyed that build .

Well clear "warm" black if you will
Sometimes, when you find a typo, you just gotta role with it.

Excellent as usual! I did have a question about the forthcoming aztec masks. Will there be included masks for the bussard fan blades?
well they will now! Thanks for the reminder since I didn't use them in my build, I had forgotten about them.
Hey Lou how long till the Paint Masking set for all the Clear Parts come out's ?
Good update. Can't wait to order a set of the templates. Would it be better to pretty much paint the saucer and probably others before assembly? Wonder if there's an easy way to create masks for all the decals to not use any...
yes, i would recommend painting the saucer separately. it was a lesson learned.
Let's hope this beatuy is available in Germany someday. Shipping from US can be horrible

I just like this better than using all metallic colors
I’d use transfer paper to get them applied properly. Vinyl stays in perfect alignment.
to each his own. to use transfer tape, I'd have to use twice as much vinyl and waste a lot of vinyl
Lou Dalmaso for nubies great stuff
How much for the azteking decals?

the light kit wasn't available yet when I built mine. now that it is, I may have to build another
@@aztekdummy that makes sense. I'd like the lighting kit, but a) it's a lot of money and b) the motors seem really noisy
