I've always loved this kind of weather. Grew up from birth in an area where winter sounded like this in mid-January, sometimes even in December. Ironically, my hometown is named Frostburg!
Where I live snow is almost non existent our weather has changed drastically from when I was growing up and even my children too, climate and things overall just different I miss some yesteryears.
So relaxing. Sometimes I think I'm the only person who loves weather like this when I'm warm and cosy in my home listening to the stormy sounds. Often at night to get to sleep I picture this entire scenario with something else thrown in. A polar bear- or non-hibernating grizzly- outside my house trying to get it but failing to do so. It sounds strange but it adds an element of scariness that I like, but in my fantasy the bear cannot get into the house but just continues to prowl around before he takes off to another area for good. I remain safe and cosy. Weird, huh!
I thank God for the snow, as a little boy, I just loved the feel of snow hitting you in the face, or the crunching under your feet of fresh snow, or the sheer beauty of it as a total white blanket. Yes, I know all the bad that comes with winter storms, but here now its about the good.
