That over run is just plain annoying. That’s be the first thing to go. Then just paint the wheels silver, add the rear wiper back and return the badges to stock and you’ve got a nice sleeper👍🏻

Absolutely howling at the exhaust. That is the most horrid mod I've ever set ears on. Defo would keep it and do the knightsbridge circuit - the locals are notorious for appreciating things like that 👌💨

100% more hot hatch content! Super car vids are great but can’t beat a hot hatch… would you consider buying a hot hatch… then modify it and make a series… something like a GTi… modify it and document it
That pop and bang map needs to go
The exhaust is ridiculous. Would revert straight back to stock myself and get rid of that pop and bang map.
As a modified Golf R Estate owner the pop and bang map on that car would absolutely do my bonce in. Couldn't live with that every day 🙉 It's not even a nice sound, every time I put my foot down in the Golf it makes me miss the 5 pot from the old Focus ST I used to have.

The car is amazing other than the embarrassing pops and bangs. I’ve never understood why people like that characteristic in their exhaust, race cars don’t do that.
Rally cars do, the popping and banging is caused by the anti lag system where fuel is squirted into the exhaust manifold to keep the turbo spinning at high speed so there isn’t any turbo lag 👍🏽

@@dennis.r1064 well if one niche motor sports series has embarrassing explosions that isn’t the norm. It’s a silly fad for street cars that is only appealing to people under 25 years old. A well tuned motor and exhaust should rev up to redline then drop down to idle in a smooth decline. My Challenger 6.4L has some light burbles at low speed but when I get on it I don’t have to feel like people near by are concerned that my car is about to explode.

One of the best sleeper cars ngl. Its cheap but price/performance is amazing. And if you can't afford one polo gti's (baby golf r's) are good hot hatches as well.
While it may be a monster that exhaust is too much. Something about the tuning or the way that engine sounds normally just doesn't work with the pops and bangs.
Happier in this than a lot of super cars 😂😂😂 get the series in

Iv got a MK6 golf R i test drove a 7R golf thr other day was 460BHP the thing i didn’t like was the gas Pedal seemed to be really laggy,like i touched the throttle a little and it’s like there was nothing there,on the motor way i opened it up and definitely wasn’t impressed,my MK6 R is only 388bhp and mine felt quicker,throttle response on mine is there straight away,so not sure if it was the one i test drove or if there all like it but if they are then definitely ain’t the car for me,to witch iv now decided to put more money into mine for a bigger turbo and a few other bits so I think the MK6 R is more aggressive and more fun
I own an M140i that's currently stage 2+ running 468bhp, got a massive list of styling, handling, braking and performance mods. Would be interested to hear your opinion on it. I'm located in Buckinghamshire. Reply to this comment if you're interested and we can get something sorted 👍

Every time I see these now they are 95% off the tone driven by a 19 year old chav. Seat back. Had on top of the wheel looking like a 🤡. These were cool 7 years ago but still superb performance for the next to no cost

@@fbf01 I understand that but a chav still wouldn’t be able to afford one. You would still need a decent job with decent pay to buy one and maintain one. Also insurance would be expensive for a young driver.

Both great cars and fantastic sound but just a bit underpowered for the size of the engine.
@@stichupman most larger engines back then were the same like the 350z for example
@@ogloftus true. I'd love an r32 as I know its underpowered but you can use it not like modern stuff hyper hatches are to fast for the road really. My golf r is only stage 1 and that's plenty enough.

I still own one and just think in general they sound rubbish with any aftermarket exhaust. I still have stock exhaust.

Some idiot ruined a very good car, it’s awful, that noise is awful, nobody can think that sounds good. Imagine living near someone so inconsiderate having to listen to that on a daily basis. Cars like that should be banned, the owner should be embarrassed.
