Great request Henrik!!! Such a cool groove to it!! Lovin' the bass dayummmmm Henrik!!! They never cease to amaze me and always a joy to listen to! Thanks Jeff!!!!
Yes yes and yes! Great comments, Jeff! And what always gets me (and what you were saying too) is the amazing array of contrasts they manage to build into their songs, say between high vocals and a bass line coming in, or some smooth melody or chord lines and those crisp and funky hits, slaps and pops from Aron and Henrik…it’s how they always compliment each other and bring out each other’s lines or rhythms….man, those clean drums! And so in the pocket with Henrik, -unbelievable tightness! And Jonah’s vocals?! This is a killer track. But it also made me appreciate some of their other grooves with a swing or shuffle feel…, just very different. Thanks man, and thanks Henrik 🙏☺️
I hope they soon release some more music, so you get more Dirty Loops to react to. Always good reactions, an Dirty Loops are always so nice to listen to.
Groovy song! Never heard it before but I like it! Too groovy! Loved the explanation on how they approach their music. Thanks!!! This is an older song but the artist had a great story as far as how she was discovered. I won’t give it away but you will absolutely love it! Maggie Rogers is the singer. The song is Alaska. I would love to hear your break down on it. I would like to see your reaction to it if you haven’t yet discovered this song. You’re awesome! Keep them coming!
Their approach is really interesting, been on my mind since the first time I heard about it being a songwriter myself. One of the unique benefits with their complex music is that you can sing along to many parts, which I do in my car, like Hit Me, Rock You, Sayonara Love, you name them. Am I the only one doing that? Don’t think so. It’s like Steely Dan, love to sing along to their songs. By the way, Jeff, have you checked out their tour schedule, can’t find it myself for some reason but they’ve been around for some time now. Finland, the Baltics, Poland.. Ah well, three weeks to Jonah’s own concert here in Stockholm.
You are indeed not the only one! I sing whichever part I can pick out & sing without my voice cracking, which means generally I continuously switch from background vocals, to harmonizing the melody, to the melody. I shuffle through vocal parts like a Vegas card trick magician & yet could not identify which part I'm singing at any given moment. Whether it sounds good to others another matter altogether. Highly dubious! But as long as no one turns the volume down, all is well! Incidentally this is how I sing along with most songs, & I do believe I have perhaps created enough "alternate" Beach Boys parts that I never have to sing the same one twice, & now consider myself an honorary member of the group. Just like John Stamos! 😂
Great comment Birger! DL and Jonah have been very active these days (nothing over here in the US, yet). I usually see where they playing through Instagram mostly.
I do that all the time too. Sing along to all the parts, and especially to any brass/horn riffs (being a brass player myself, I guess that' just can't be helped, haha). There are so many fun little things to try and figure out, both rhythmically and tonally. I've thought of trying to transcribe some of the horn stuff at times, but well ... I am just way too lazy to actually do that, so I make do with singing along at the top of my lungs. :D
Hey Jeff! The chorus of this one gives me Earth Wind & Fire vibes, & then all the loopifications send it gloriously skyward as usual! I'd be curious to know how many DL fans have this phenomenon: I listen to many, many songs of the past on my playlists by decade, wondering WWJH&AD? (What Would Jonah Henrik & Aron Do?) Catchy! Perhaps we should create bracelets! Sometimes my crazy-brain inserts Dirty Loops-isms into perfectly enjoyable well-known songs, which is no little feat, considering I am not a musician, lol. I find myself superimposing Jonah's voice over the original artists all the time. It's interesting to say the least. From there it's only a short leap to my reimagining every melody known to man with Jacob Collier harmonizations, starting from Gregorian Chant. Fun game, but like I said, I Am Not A Musician! My brain is creating things without my permission that I can neither name, nor sing, nor replicate by any means. Therefore I vent in the oh so sure to be safe space of RUclips commentary. 😂
@@StrateleStudios Aww! Wouldn't you know it?! The heart of a musician trapped in the body of a non-dancing, so-so singing, WAY past my prime stay at home mom, with a ditzy brain! Ha! Now I'm envisioning myself as Peter Boyle, stagger-grunting through Puttin' On The Ritz in "Young Frankenstein," with my A.B. Normal brain. Oh dear God, what would Jonah Do?! Damn, this day is getting more promising by the minute! Super-Duper!

Amazing. This is my most favourite song. What kind of synth piano sound Jonah used in this song? I would like to make something with similar vibe...
Jeff, you should give us a list, in order, of DL songs that you’ve covered. I’m interested in knowing which songs you did in which order. ;)
Go here and sort by “Date Added”.
