Hi Tiffany. I consider you a friend. Been following for years from USA. You inspire me and so many others. I am a Recovered stage 3b colon cancer survivor. Having had half colon removed followed by 6 months chemo with walk away pack also for 2 more days. Followed by 60 daily radiation treatments. I only bring up my history if this part helps.
Prior to my aggressive chemo I took charge and had all my hair shaved off. I felt in control of something that was going to happen. I needed my strength emotionally and otherwise to take on disease. As others have said I too got 100.00 off at cancer center in the purchase of wig (they say color and style wise stay similar to where you are).. many people get upset at loss of hair by taking it off you remove this from your concerns. If you do research I found the softest hair apparel for sleeping I still use just as so comfortable. Many scarfs hats etc if style.
I wish you only the very very best-- regards to your wonderful caring Matt and family.. reach deep inside yourself as you have before you will find a great amount of strength and courage

That’s not how it works, the oncology team will be able to provide the correct guidance and appropriate steps moving forward. Life going on as normal is as much a part of getting through this as the treatment itself. If you’ve been through this you will know that your state of mind is important and taking on the role of a “sick” person can do as much to lower your strength as something physical. I’m sure Tiffany’s immune system is just fine or they wouldn’t be starting treatment so quickly.

A lot of people talk about cutting the hair off before chemo... I am going to throw my 2 cents into the mix . I lost my hair twice. The 1st time i chopped it all and i did regret it. Because it took ages to grow back. The second time i didn't cut it. And the patches that fell out were easier to cover using hair pieces. It grew in and within few months i managed to get a nice haircut but it wasn't like growing all of my hair back. If i had to go through this again i would get in touch with one of those hairdressers that can do weaves for people with hairloss. I am sure that u will do your own research ❤

It's so true but here in the UK doctors really don't focus on nutrition at all (in my experience). My dad suffers from various ailments and through a ton of personal research we have seen some improvements with nutrition alone - when we ask his nhs specialists for advice they are very dismissive or just don't know enough. It is quite basic knowledge and even his Dr asked my dad to list all his changes in front of her interns! Crazy but true

Clean diet, I so agree, also they as in those on a support site I am on due to my granddaughter had glioblastoma brain cancer, to limit or cut sugar out all together. Cancer loves sugar. Nutritional supplements like Ensure, Boost are a couple here in the US, however I would check the sugar or carb content. Eat them powerhouse fruits like blueberries, açaí, bananas, there are more you will have to research. I know you do have a bit of trouble with an aversion of textures. Be your own best advocate. Research clean diets. I see where a couple have mentioned donating your hair. That would be very altruistic
, yet Tiffany this is your journey. You decide how you are going to go through this bump in your road. It will surely depend on if the regimen of chemotherapy will cause you to lose your hair. My granddaughter’s radiotherapy caused her hair to fall out, this tx lasted three months. When she started chemo her hair come back in, that lasted six months. Whatever you do, it’s your decision. We all mean well. I will keep you in my prayers. Praying for strength for this day, then the next and so on. Hugs from NE, USA. YOU AND MATT LAUGHING IS SUCH GOOD MEDICINE. Those jeans are great Tiffany, properly designed for the female hip/waist ratio. I can't wear denim jeans, I always end up with a bloody UTI! I'm with your mum about lipstick although I don't wear it every day, but I love the bright ones, I don't do neutral 😂!
I never worry about over ordering as I'm never embarrassed about having a doggy-bag!
Body wash and nasal cream is the traditional treatment for MRSA, I'm so glad your cold sore went before you ended up picking it off, the last thing you'd have needed was getting it infected! I've never seen them use mouth wash for the treatment but I guess it makes sense.
Be careful not to get the bodywash into your eyes, I did that a few times in work and it *hurts*
(Sorry if my comments are a bit out of order, but I type them out while I'm watching and don't wait til the end lol I know I'd forget if I waited)
I'm not sure how the wig consultation will go, whether they'd suggest cutting it first, or even cutting it and using your own hair to make it? I didn't realise how important my hair was, to me, until menopause hit and my hair thinned drastically, and my eyebrows - I had to have them microbladed. Bonus - haven't had to shave my legs or underarms since menopause lol.
You have a lot going on Tiffany, so I'm glad you're taking time out for yourself, you can't be all things to all people, it's hard to ask for time/patience of even help, but you'd give it to someone else! Good luck this week 💖😍

I do have a question for you. You have the most amazing hair, and I was wondering if you are preparing to lose it, can they make a hair piece for you out of your own gorgeous hair? Sending love and prayers for you. You always have a smile and make me smile. xoxo

Hi Tiffany. 💚Yessss, talk and talk and talk some more. Dump anxiety out of your mind, we all are here to listen and be the big shoulders you can lean on. So much love and warm bearhugs to you and Matt and your mamabear 🐻(she has the most glowing complexion and great taste in lipstick☺️). As a mamabear myself of four 30-somethings, my children have always been my ‘babybears’, sweet term of endearment, and your mamabear wants (needs) to stand with you with all her beautiful strength and protect you and beat this with you. Let her. Amma needs to be in this with you, holding you tight in your healing. Between the treatment and miracle kefir and laughter and love and all of us, you got this! Have high expectations to sail through these next steps, always hope for the best, mind over matter. Oh, I love your friend Char’s sense of humour, it’s wonderful to have friendly banter about everyday things, ‘I’m so hot’ weather, bum squats, getting locked out of parks, lol, good times, miracle kefir gut shots. Such a delightful escape and you’re blessed to be surrounded by the power of love. That’s the real miracle in today’s world. ‘True love’ … and lots of giggles.
I’m relaxing today, did some early morning fishing for salmon (no bites today, will try again tomorrow); we’re enjoying the last bit of summer in Ontario Canada.
    Love you, 💚

Not suggesting this for you but this is how my sister handled her chemo hair loss. Before the drugs started their changes in her, she had her head completely shaved. She couldn’t control the breast cancer, Inflammatory, but she could control how the treatments were going to affect her. She made the decision not to hide her baldness but embraced it. No wigs but it was winter here in Nova Scotia so toques and scarves were used. She avoided malls, crowds, people as the public unknowingly carries germs. She exercised when she felt able to but didn’t beat herself up when she couldn’t. It’s a personal journey and those affected walk it the best way they can for themselves. Always felt it was my job as her older sister to support her regardless of my views.

OMG you are so strong, how are you doing this? I have my own illness (not cancer) and i have days that i can't be positive. Having good people around, helps i think and you have that. But living in the moment i want more and more. I think that is "the perks" of being sick i guess. There are perks but being sick sucks so so much. I am just trying to be positive with little things like that. I am sending you strength❤

If you cut your hair a few inches every three weeks . It won’t be so devastating if your hair falls out. My friend cut hers a little to her shoulders and in fact it helped her not lose all of her hair. It’s all stress related also, not just chemo related. Just a tip.

I agree 💯%. I’m dealing with stage iv lung cancer myself and have about 10 gorgeous wigs, that all look great. I’ve worn one once. I find them extremely uncomfortable and very hot and itchy. I tend to wear scarves when I go to work and ski style hats at home.

Makes me giggle when you say “walk”… the “k” is so so pronounced.

Tiffany’s army is here supporting and loving you through it all!!!! One thing I wanted to mention, when my Mom had cancer, she tried wigs but they were just too itchy and hot. She chose to wear wraps, hats and toboggans. It’s whatever your comfortable with, so if you get it and don’t like the wig, it’s perfectly ok. Hopefully you will like it but you do have options. I am sending you all my love across the pond from the US. Long time follower and I feel like I know you. That may sound a bit bananas but my daughter is your age and I think that’s why I’ve always felt so much love for you. It’s a momma instinct. We got this! 💙💙💙💙
