Great review/comparison. They are close but I think the attack, particularly on the lower notes, is more "natural" on the 115. Of course, it's hard to evaluate audio qualities from an online experience. Thanks!
I need a "compact" but powerful combo for my 5-string Jazz Bass. Do you think 2x10 can handle low B as well as 1x15? I like vintage sound, ergo 2x10" for my ears sounds way better here. I'm not sure about lower notes, below E. What do you think? Thanks for this video!
+upright bassmatt - I've got the BG250-208, and the 2X8 handles the low B surprising well for studio/rehearsal purposes. It's not going to stand up to the 2x10 in a small to mid venue, but when I hook it up to a BC-212, it handles it quite nicely. But if the 208 can handle the B, the 210 definitely can.
I have the BG250-210 and low B is VERY present and strong with full muscle and power. The 210 gives everything that is liked in the 115 and 208 range wrapped up into the best of both ... the 210.
Great that you found it helpful. There was someone on TalkBass that bought the 115 and then the 210 and gigged each a couple of times. I think he said that he felt the 210 can get a little louder. I can't imagine that there is any meaningful difference in that area.
Hey, yeah that was a 208 in the frame. I was just trying it out and focused on the comparo between the 115 and 210 at the time, sorry. The 208? I posted my impressions on TalkBass at the time. Generally, it was just okay-ish IMO. It wasn't something I was interested in keeping. It was fine for rehearsal with one band but a different drummer kind of put it under. Did an acoustic gig with it and it was fine, but overall, there are other ways to go in the same size weight range that give more utility. IMO, not a keeper.
Thank you for making a comparison demo the right way.
Thanks for taking time to comment
Great song choice :)
I'm glad if it helps anyone, Dylan. They're currently being sold...Musician's Friend, Sweetwater, etc.

I find this short vid really helpful. Thanks!
Has anyone verified/compaired their effectiveness (in dB)/loudness?

Is that the 2x8 in the picture, too? How come no demo for that? Been thinking of getting one.
