Yeah, Richard Cansino is AWESOME with how he voices Kenshin; showing his gentle and kind nature, but also showing how scary he can be when he goes Battousai as well as when he's dead serious.
@@dfed324 It sure is :) It just also shows amazing voice direction for Richard Cansino as he did Kenshin, and how he can be really amazing as the kind gentle nature Kenshin has, but also showing the serious and scary badass he is when he's angry or when he starts to bring out the Battousai.
I remember seeing a scene from the BTAS era where Batman broke into a crime lord's house and was looking for something. A couple of goons were patrolling. One of them opens the door after hearing a noise and sees Batman in the darkened room. Batman is just standing there with a "your move" attitude. You’re so correct, just like his fight with saito, when Jinei and Saito made it look like if Kenshin had to kill them cos if not his loved ones could be in danger
The only issue I have is how the dialogue can be most of the time. There's a specific scene which Sanosuke has trouble saying either the word "transparent" or "translucent." "I'm not trans-whatever!" But then he spits out the words Hitten Mitsurugi-Ryu Amakakeru no Hirameki with no issue.

I see it more as an intimidation tactic this time. Those guys are little more than thugs with weapons. No real warriors. It was a way for him to send the message of "I'm being polite by giving you a way out that you can explain off as being generous, but I'll fight and floor every single man here if I have to." Pretty easy choice for boss man. The former he could sweep under the rug. The latter will leave him and the syndicate he runs a laughing stock - Taken down in just a few minutes by one man they didn't even know the name of.
If you think about it he is op against all of them if not for his reverse blade sword and his oath not to kill..if he had a normal sword, one strike will do..but he needed multiple hits to defeat an enemy..
I've been re-watching this series and I never noticed how poignant this scene is. Kenshin's past is still truly a mystery, but the bits and pieces we get show how deadly, fearsome, vicious and monstrous he truly was. A small time mob boss, probably never actually held a sword a day in his life can recognize the depth and severity of being in the presence of a hitokiri.
