The only negative of this post season run is that Gary Keith and Ronnie do not get to call the games!

That’s truly sad! It’s like you built the vehicle only to have some other guys take the vehicle from you. And personally those announcers sucked!

Alonso’s HR was on the 73rd anniversary of Bobby Thomson’s shot heard round the world

Wow! I was thinking about that not too long after the game. But I didn’t Persue researching it. Good observation. Too bad the Brooklyn Dodgers didn’t have a bottom of the 9th

I give him a lot of credit putting up with the likes of many of these ingrate NY fans! Far as I’m concerned, we don’t deserve him!

My only disappointment was NOT hearing Gary call the HR. “ITS OUTTA HERE”!

Interesting who they bring back next year, Alonso has to be the man rest of this playoff run to be considered.

Icing on the cake was seeing Gary after the Mets sent the Brewers packing. Wish he was calling the games but this is a good consolation prize.

To me it ranks right under piazzas 9/11 homerun

Considering Piazza's regular-season homer required a terrorist attack to be memorable, and did not win a postseason series or guarantee a playoff berth, your comment seems a little off-key. Alonso's homer is the biggest HR in Mets post-season history.

@@gilbertgiles you said it yourself alonsos homerun was the "biggest in mets postseason history"..so where would you rank it then? And what mets "moment" is worthy of your praise enough to be beneath piazzas homerun?

Gary Cohen like so many fans are prisoners of the moment. Sorry but this HR is not at the top of the list by a long shot. Gary should know better. First off, Ray Knights HR is the biggest in Mets history. Game 7, 7th inning of an epic WS. If you were not alive to watch those playoffs and WS, you can't know. This is a freakin wild card rd (2 of 3) and does not come close to the magnitude. Mets win and still have to win 11 more games to be champions!!! How about all those Daniel Murphy HRS in 2015? Cmon fans, wake up. Mets history began long before 2024. You say Alonso, I give you a monster HR by Donn Clendenon in the WS. Or a Lenny Dykstra walk off in game 3 of the NLCS. There are several others. This HR goes in the top 10 for sure but it was only a wild card HR. Bigger the series, bigger the moment.
