- 553 days. This is how long Joey's WR has been unbeaten for, and now it's finally over! I've been running this game for nearly 2 years at this point, and now it finally payed off. I'm extremely grateful for all the support the sonic speedrunning community has been giving to me, and I couldn't have done that without them!

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Joe Stanski told us: "Take a trained monkey, place him in front of the screen with a genesis controller and he is able to play the game pauseless." Thirty years later Chonkal told us: "I have to pause my game like a TAS. It's very complicated and unwatchable for the viewers." And TeeNTee said, err, he pressed during his Sonic The Hedgehog 2 speedrun, I don't remember what level, the wrong button (Pause) on the controller. Question for you to both. Is Sonic the Hedgehog 2 speedrunning today too complicated with 20 and more tricks with pause buffering in the game, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future, concerning pause buffering, errrm, during the run? Less seconds to pause in the whole run, more? Or less and more comunication with the SRC mods about the rules.
just re-watched your dominant trilogy sweep. i think we all can agree, when joey first got sub 30 we thought he was on his own level that no one could reach, it's insane that with our small community there was someone else on that same level. it's such a damn shame that your runs don't get the views/ exposure they deserve. we all suffer from being Sega and not having a viral "content creator" unfortunately. none of that matters to me and i hope it doesn't effect anyone's drive and passion for the game. i hella appreciate all you have done for us, and in the long run it will matter more than you think right now
I know right? Imagine being the best IN THE ENTIRE WORLD at one of the most famous games of all time, and only getting 3k views... It's a pretty sorry state of affairs.

Congrats to Eandis. It’s amazing he got this despite a bunch of fairly big mistakes in the beginning (He said he was thinking of resetting in SSL), in Rainbow Road, and with the Bowser throw. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is beat by someone before too long. Good luck on Glover, an eternal classic.

There's actually a skip for when knuckles comes out the ground. When tails lands if you have a second controller, he can jump and grab sonic and fly him while knuckles is running away, and that can save more time.
true, but the 2nd controller is only allowed in co op or one player 2 controllers speedruns

Why is the timer using RTA timings instead of in-game?
cuz IGT wouldn't account for many things, such as but not limited to cutscenes and also stuff like hitting the signpost or pausing to get monitor clip
its rta-tb which is rta but the timer pauses when time bonus ticks
also rta-tb is just superior because igt sucks
